How was your Friday?! Mine was totally and completely unproductive. Just one of those days I guess. The weather was absolutely horrible (cold fog and rain!) and I was totally unmotivated to do anything. Bah! I did have a good time catching up with Kelly this morning and buying my coffee that I was out of!

IMG_2881

Mmmmmmm there’s nothing like the smell of freshly ground coffee beans. And check out Kelly’s hot chocolate!

IMG_2880

When you buy coffee at Flying Goat you get a free coffee so mine wasn’t as exciting as hers. Oh well.

Lunch was a big salad with random things on top:

Yeah, I pretty much just dump my fridge on spinach and it works. This one had 3 scrambled egg whites, hummus, hot sauce, leftover black beans, some raw goat cheddar and kabocha squash. It was actually quite delicious.

So delicious and SO filling that all I snacked on later was an apple:

And had Annie’s for dinner mixed with canned tuna (and more squash muhahaha):

Am I the only one that sometimes has days where you feel like the most productive thing you do is take a SHOWER?! I swear….not seeing sunshine really takes a toll on my mood.

I self medicated myself with chocolate and vanilla swirl frozen yogurt with oreos:

And now, at 8:00 on a Friday night, I’m about to climb into bed and watch Sweet Home Alabama for the 450th time. Yay!

I had a horribly unproductive day today too. I made some gnocchi (absolute fail, but they looked pretty… pictures on blog).

Weather today was crappy here too. Below 20 degrees all day and snowy off and on. Tomorrow will be a better day!

Sweet Home Alabama is a cute movie! I wish I could watch instead I will be paper writing!

Living in Chicago I have many days where there’s a windchill of -15 outside and I can’t bring myself to go outside, which leads to procrastination of everything on the bottom of my to-do list and that same unproductive rut. I find it really helps to make up specific tasks for those days where the weather or life gets you down. Mine are household cleaning and intense planner reorganization (listing my week out day by day). The outcome rarely gets followed step by step but by spending the time sorting things at least helps avoid the guilt of spending a day putting a dent in the couch. You’re lucky you have those 1,000 words to shoot for, it’s something to do even if you end up writing about coffee and foggy squash moods!

Aw Jenna, you’ll get through it! My Husband gets a little blue this time of year too. For me it isn’t rainy or cloudy weather that makes me blah but the SAME weather all of the time.

Have you considered a sun lamp to help you get through the transition of moving from Florida to somewhere more rainy? Hang in there 🙂

Sometimes those blah days are necessary. When you have a cottage with a fireplace it’ll be better as then lighting a fire, cooking, listening to music, writing even in the yucky rain is fun…like closing out the world. I posted my first Super-Blogger interview tonight…am doing it weekly for a year. So hope can post yours in April when you may have a breather! And Jenna—you really must Yelp and Google about the Pebble Beach Food and Wine in April and then go if you have to go as a volunteer. EVERY major world chef is there! It’s INCREDIBLE!

Today was definitely one of those days for me. Between trying to shift from working nights to staying awake during the day, I (just barely) managed to take a shower, brush my teeth and update my blog. Good thing I didn’t post any photos of myself from today as I didn’t make it around to brushing my hair LOL. Oh well! Tomorrow perhaps 😉
