Lunch

Sicky Poo

Note to self: wine tasting is not a good idea when your tonsils are swollen and sore.

EVERY wine today at school tasted like ack!!! to me today. We tasted two sauvignon blancs from New Zealand (one of my favorites!) and Argentina. And we also tasted three different red wines and a port. I spit each one. I never do that! Wine running down a sore throat though makes me just cringe inside. It’s funny because I feel a TON better than yesterday ……other than my throat, which is not doin’ so hot. I think I might have to meander over to the CVS walk in clinic and have it checked out this afternoon because I’ve had some “issues” with tonsillitis in the past that have not ended well (err in the hospital).  I hate to go to the doctor and get on antibiotics, but I don’t have a good history with this sickness.
Anyways, since my throat is sore I really don’t have much of my normal grizzly-like appetite. I didn’t really eat too much of my snack this morning and instead just chugged water. For lunch, I heated up some soup that I found in the pantry. I’m pretty sure this was my roommates because I really never buy canned soup unless it’s Amy’s Split Pea.

This was very meh but I forced it down for protein and nutrients. I also had a wrap with more hummus, which surprisingly was exactly what I was craving! I LOVE Sabra’s hummus!!!

Sorry. Food when your sick is always rather boring.

No running today. TONS of catch-up work, studying and definitely some more yoga later on….. I guess I’m being “forced” to rest my shin now, right?!

Eek! If you have recurring issues with your tonsils I stongly suggest getting the buggers removed along with your adenoids (spl??) I dealt with tonsilitis several times a year untill I finally got the balls to get them out last year, worst 2 weeks of my entire life, I lost 11 lbs, but it was SSSSOOO WORTH IT! Haven’t had a sore throat since and haven’t been sick even HALF as much as I was with them!

Feel better soon! Actually, your food doesn’t look boring to me today– it looks comforting. Must be because there’s a chill in the air up here today.

Oh no! Wine when you’re sick is no fun — what a shame you’re not feeling well. Definitely get plenty of vitamins and drink lots of water. And I’m just now commenting on this because I’ve been busy and didn’t read yesterday, but I’m so glad you enjoyed Yoga to the People! Their classes were always extremely humbling for me.

If you’re ever in New York, you should check out their classes. They’re all donation-based and absolutely wonderful. It’s on St. Marks and 2nd Avenue. 🙂 I’m looking forward to waking up early tomorrow morning to practice myself — I’ve had a busy week (21st birthday!!) and haven’t been very good to my body, haha.

Sorry you still aren’t feeling the greatest. Our bodies have a way of forcing us into rest when we don’t do it often enough.

Ouch! I’m sure the acid in the wine didn’t feel so great on your throat 🙁

Hope you feel better soon! And I agree- Sabra hummus is the best.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys! I went to the minute clinic and, like I thought, it’s just a virus that needs to run it’s course. The nurse was shocked at how great I feel and how I don’t have even the slightest bit of a fever but still have a sore throat. I’m pretty sure Olive Leaf Extract has something to do with that! I got some tea and strawberry popsicles 🙂
