Exercise/ Fitness/ Lunch

Snacks, Strength and Everything Nice

Hey!

I learned this morning that sometimes exercise is the best medicine. I feel a ton better after a 2 mile run and an upper body session with Anna and Michaela! I also learned to ALWAYS keep snacks in my car and purse!! More on that in a sec—-

After my run (it was freezing outside this morning!) I snacked on some cantaloupe that I had just sliced up:

And then I went to run errands before meeting the girls for our workout. Somewhere between TJ Maxx and Staples I started to feel really faint and knew if I didn’t eat something fast I wasn’t going to make it through. Rummaged through my bottomless pit purse and came up with nothing (can you believe it?!), searched the glove compartment of my car…still nothing. Finally, pulled off at a Chevron and bought a luna bar. Ate half before my workout and felt a million times better.

We did a pretty short circuit this morning, the three of us rotating around doing squats with the medicine ball, twisting lunges with the medicine ball, bicep curls with weights, lat pull downs with resistance bands, push-ups and crunches. It was short and sweet and then we just crowded around the computer looking at the new spring Lululemon arrivals that will hit the studio next week. 😉
In other news, I think I finally found a headband that holds back my mane!

Lucie makes these, along with super cute biking bags and pretty much everything else. I wish I was crafty like that! We started selling them at the studio and everyone is loving them. She finds vintage fabrics around town at thrift shops and creates masterpieces….and they really don’t slide back on your head! I tested this today by jumping around and doing handstands…no slide!
I couldn’t wait to get home and eat the lunch I had been envisioning all morning long—

A whole wheat pita with hummus & goat cheese, roasted kabocha squash and more melon. Go orange!

I know what you mean about the snacks. I drove to yoga today and forgot my small breakkie to take with me and knew it would be super difficult to concentrate without feeding the belly. Thank goodness I found the sample size Larabar in my bag! I need to refill my emergency stash now. I never realized how vital it is to have small snacks on hand! Glad you found a Luna Bar at the gas station at least!

You should toss a bag of almonds into your car- they never get bad- bars aren’t bad either in the winter, but in the summer they get mushy and chalkie because of the heat

    What a cute headband!

I’m craving melon now but it won’t be in-season for a few more months, sadly. Heading to Australia on Monday so maybe it will be available there — in the summer sunshine! 😀

Ahh yes. The infamous yoga headband. I must say, we don’t get along well during a yoga session! Perhaps I haven’t found the right match?

I hear you about the snacks thing. Been having to bring almonds everywhere in Paris to avoid sudden fainting sessions. Would NOT be a cool thing to do in the Metro!
