Hey hey!
Hope y’all had a great Saturday. Mine was filled with great friends, family and good food. What more could I ask for?! This morning I met up with two of my girlfriends at Starbucks for an hour and a half catch-up session. I had a grande awake tea with a splash of soymilk and a shot of simple syrup. Mmmm
The weather was GORGEOUS!!! After I left them, I met up with another friend for lunch! I had the hummus pita with fruit and he had….a big ole burger
(I snagged a few of those killer fries, don’t you even worry!)
We took a nice walk in the sunshine, I went shopping and attempted to pack, pack, pack! However, I’m a horrible packer because I always get sidetracked when I find things that I haven’t seen in ages, such as my loved and weathered copies of Paradise Lost and British Poetry….also, lots of old photos and poems! I think I packed one box and then took a yogurt break.
And then tonight I went with my parents to one of my very favorite restaurants, Ceviche!!
I had almost a full glass of their famous sangria…
And then the three of us split the following:
Ceviche (obviously)—
A big salad with grilled salmon, scallops, mussels, roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts and greens—-
Warm bread with proscuitto and manchego cheese—
And sauteed mushrooms with olive oil and garlic—
When I got home I ate three red Swedish fish
Bout to take a bubble bath and read! Maybe I’ll get that run in tomorrow??!

You look so happy with your momma! Keep enjoying your time…..
Mmm, the roasted red pepper and salmon combo made my tummy growl! Lunch looked yummy too… and I always, always steal a bite or two of fries when I eat out too lol
Sounds like you’re having an amazing weekend, soak up that warm weather for me- i’m freezing!
i love swedish fish! is it weird that my first time trying them i thought they were dog treats because my aunt kept them in their dog’s treat jar. it was his favorite! now i know why
and ironically, my AP literature and composition class is reading Paradise Lost now haha.

I am the same way when packing! I get sidetracked with all of the old stories I wrote and journals and notes, etc. In a way, I love it!
Oh my, what a wonderful day of eating! I love the big salad full of veggies and topped with salmon. Eating omega-3 rich food makes me feel so healthy – I had some smoked salmon and avocado on whole grain today. Yum
I love ceviche so much! Now I am totally craving it.
Packing is really hard…it is just a trip down memory lane. Very distracting!
Sounds like a delicious Saturday! You & your mama are too cute. Don’t sweat about the run – you’re on vaca =)

I had ceviche for the first time this year – my uncle went fishing and then made his own ceviche right off the boat! Yum.
That seafood salad looks spectacular, as do the other dishes from your fabulous day of eats!
I love that sweater on you! It’s a great bright color to wear in tropical Florida.
I don’t know if I could try and pack up my life to ship cross country. I have too much that I love including books from High School and College. I would be lost without them.
That food looks AMAZING.
Sounds like an amazing time with friends and family. How’s the kitten (now cat) doing?
That food is so beautiful I’m speechless. Your family knows how to eat! (I mean that in a good way of course!)
You’re looking so stunning in that aqua colored cardigan. It looks very J.Crew, yes?! Glad home is good. Come back to California soon! PS. I went to Tartine today
People say sangria is a summer thing, but I am absolutely of the opinion that it’s perfect all year round

Your ceviche comment, ” Ceviche (obviously)” is something i totally would have said because I have a serious obsession with ceviche. No matter where I go, if it’s on the menu, that’s what I’m getting.
You and your mom and sooooo cute!!!
Oh PS, I have a great recipe for a quick and ‘clean’ red sangria if you’re interested
Have fun at home!!!!
pita+hummus=your theme of this weekend. Your parents are such foodies!
You’ve just eaten at my two favorite restaurants in Tampa! I went to law school in St. Pete, and I loved going over to Tampa for Columbia or Ceviche (Ceviche being my favorite). Any time we’re visiting the area, I always request Ceviche!!! Yum.
I’m so happy you get to spend this time at home! looks like you are having a great time!
You look so happy – like you’re having a wonderful time! I am the same way when packing/unpacking. I have trouble getting rid of things that hold some semblance of nostalgia for me, too – like my old books, etc.
your Ceviche looks incredible! glad you’ve not had to miss out on good food while being away from CA
you look so happy!!!! All the food looks amazing!!!! Glad you are having fun!
That seafood looks AAAmazing! Love that salad, WOW!
Jenn
Oh my gah! Ceviche is my favorite restaurant! My fiance was on business for two years in Tampa and he took me there for my first birthday celebration with him. It holds a very special place in my heart, plus it is so super delicious. Their escargot and their tomato based/manchego/eggplant dip is the best!
Sounds wonderful! I love spending time with family. It’s so rejuvenating. Especially when really good food is involved.
Wow … that warm bread with prosciutto and cheese looks fantastic! As does your hummus pita! I really have to start ordering healthier things when we go out, but I am a slave to the french fry, sometimes. LOL!

Awww, you look so happy! You and your mom look gorgeous.

I am a fan.
I love Ceviche!
Their eggplant dipped in honey is a truly religious experience.
