Happy Thursday to you!
I think we are headed into yet another rainy day over here. I don’t even remember the last time I saw the sun!
I was excited to dive into my new cereal this morning; as summer comes I crave hot breakfasts like oatmeal less and less and cooling meals like cereal more and more!
It had great stats—per serving, this cereal contains 200 calories, 3.5 grams of fat and a whopping 9 grams of protein!
I served myself about 1.5 servings in almond milk with a sliced naner in my pretty new bowl!
And had another grapefruit with agave on the side + yerba mate tea!
I LOVED this cereal. Crunchy and filling and sweet, but not overally so. It had little dried blueberries and lots of twigs and flakes. Yum!
I love my pretty bowl (and purple milk)!
Off to get ready for my hot yoga flow class~~see ya in a bit!

May 21, 2009 at 6:05 amme too. i crave cereal with a bite to it. not mushy cereal during the warm/hot mornings. Sometimes i even add an ice cube to my ‘cereal milk’. u know there’s a restaurant in NYC that sells cereal milk? it’s a best-seller!

May 21, 2009 at 6:09 amOnce the summer hits I definitely find myself craving cereal or cold breakfast foods…and “with bite”, just like Kim said! Have a great yoga class!

May 21, 2009 at 6:24 amYes, these last four days are long one long continuum with all of this rain! I sorta like it though =)
I agree, cereal sounds amazing right now in the beginning of these summer months. I need to stock up!
Have a great time at yoga!

May 21, 2009 at 6:41 amIsn’t that cereal great? I have it regularly now. It tends to keep me full much longer then most other cereals which is great, and I love the flavor. 😀

May 21, 2009 at 7:43 amI’ve always eyed that cereal in the store. Good to know you like it….maybe now I’ll finally pick up a box. It’s pretty pricey, thought, isn’t it?

May 21, 2009 at 8:50 amMichelle,

May 21, 2009 at 7:43 amI miss hot yoga so much. The gym I belong to does not offer it. Instead, I do a class called “Body Balance” which is a fusion of tai chi, yoga, and pilates. Unfortunately, it is not geared for intermediate or high level students due to the fact that it is all over the place. I’m like you–I prefer the power yogas where I can really push myself.
Please send your rain down here! 😉
Have a great day, Jenna.

Not yet! They said I wouldn’t be hearing from them for probably the next few weeks as they conduct preliminary interviews for the top 50!

May 21, 2009 at 8:03 amI definitely crave cereal in the warmer months! Wait, who am I kidding. I crave it year-round and round-the-clock. I’ve had that one before, and while it is super crunchy, yummy and has great nutritionals, I didn’t taste much cinnamon! That didn’t stop me from finishing a box in approximately three/four days. Have a fab morning!

May 21, 2009 at 8:05 amThat cereal looks great! I will have to try it. I too get out of the oatmeal mode once the weather warms up so I’ll be looking for some new cold cereals soon 🙂 Have a great day!

May 21, 2009 at 8:05 amI like cereal in the summers as well, but it doesn’t keep me full at all.

May 21, 2009 at 8:22 amyum cereal looks great! Ill have to try it. Is this hot yoga flow class bikram yoga or is it completely different? have a great day, Jenna!
jenna
May 21, 2009 at 8:50 amChristina,
It is completely different. Hot yoga flow is a class performed in a room heated to about 95 degrees or so and is just…whatever! There’s vinyasas and well as both seated and standing asana. Lots of deep stretches, downward dogs, chatarungas, planks and standing splits!

May 21, 2009 at 8:23 amMmm, your grapefruit looks delicious. Sorry it’s raining so much, but the sun will come out soon enough, I’m sure! Enjoy yoga.

May 21, 2009 at 9:12 amBlueberry cereal is so good. Not sure how much cinnamon is in the cereal, but did you know that a teaspoon of cinnamon has as many antioxidants as a half cup of blueberries! That’s why I add it to my smoothies now. I add spinach too, thanks to this blog!
Megan (The Runner's Kitchen)
May 21, 2009 at 9:14 amOptimum power cereal + soy milk is so delicious! I’ve been taking hot vinyasa yoga classes for the past couple of weeks and I love it! I hardly ever sweat (even while running!), but these hot yoga classes leave me soaked. I’ve started re-hydrating afterwards with coconut water – gotta replace those electrolytes 🙂

May 21, 2009 at 9:29 amI would love to try Hot Yoga Flow. Sounds so great! Cold Cereal always hits the spot! Blueberry Cinnamon sounds delicious!

May 21, 2009 at 10:10 amI also start to crave cereal in warm weather. Most cereal tastes like cardboard to me and Nature’s Path is definitely a happy exception.
Lindsey (fiteats)
May 21, 2009 at 3:20 pmI love blueberries in my cereal and I love the purple milk it leaves behind! Yum!
