Something To Eat On

Ryan and I have had a really relaxing day being bums. But it didn’t start off that way! I rallied us up to the gym first thing and we had a good strengthening workout. I started off doing a few minutes on both the stairmaster and elliptical to warm up my muscles and then did upper body and a little legs. I did pull ups, dips, pushups, chest press, triceps, jumping squats and hamstring stuff on the machine. No abs because I’m too sore!

We went to my favorite pita pit for lunch and brought it home to eat on our new table! For our two year anniversary a couple weeks ago, Ryan and I decided to buy a much needed kitchen table for the apartment. Not very glamorous, I know, but if I’m going to be living here I need something to lay out the meals I make on! We had to order it from Ballard Design and it just got here last week and Ryan put it together yesterday. So today we enjoyed our first meal on it! Now we just need chairs! Its small but perfect for just the two of us!

As for my pita, I got a whole wheat pita with hummus, avocado, jalepinos, feta cheese, banana peppers, spinach, pickles, onions, olives and hot sauce. Now THAT’S a mouthful! 🙂

I ended my meal by enjoying one of the tiny macaroon cookies. Ryan bought me this little bag of about five of them—they are tiny and chocolate dipped. Each macaroon is about 85 calories and well worth it! I love the combo of chocolate and coconut.

We spent the afternoon being total bums watching a movie on the couch! Its been rainy all day long and we are headed now to my parent’s house for dinner. I’ve been talking about going out for ice cream all day so I think that’s the plan for tonight! I’m having a serious craving for some reason!

Those are from anthropologie and are Level 99 brand. I wear them everywhere in the summer…I think the store or the website still has them since they are relatively new if you are interested. They fit very well!

    Moran,

I don’t really have an “ab routine” because if you do the same ab exercises day after day your muscles will get used to it and it won’t work anymore. I don’t really do any special moves…I do a lot of crunches (sometimes holding dumb-bells above my head and crunching inward like I did the other day), reverse lunges where I hold something above my head then lift my legs and my butt up, hanging crunches and yoga poses. I try to do yoga as much as I can because I think that that is the best way to strengthen your core and, in turn, tone your abs. I also like to read magazines for new ab exercises. Shape and Self are good fitness magazines that I like!
