Dinner

Starving then Stuffed

I’m stuffed now but, man, was I ever starving earlier!!!!!! After my run I had half a banana to tide me over because we showered and immediately set out to Bonefish for dinner. I didn’t want anything that would spoil my appetite because Bonefish (or as Ryan and I say–Bone Fizzle) is my favorite!

We got there around 7:15, got a beeper and waited at the bar for our table to be ready. I had a great glass of pinot noir while we sat (I actually nursed this one glass all night—proud!) and Ryan had his favorite—a rum and diet coke. 🙂

But then, we ran into some friends at the bar and dinner was sort of put on the backburner for about 45 minutes. Of course it was great to see and catch up with our friends (they had just gotten back from the Gator game), but my poor belly was staaaaaaaarving since I did all that running and hadn’t refueled properly—unless you call pinot noir refueling (sometimes it is!). I actually started to feel quite ill while we sat at the bar…very woozy  and light headed.  But then, our beeper vibrated and we finally got to sit down around 8:15.

I was a ravenous animal when I got to the table. Never good to let yourself get like this! We ordered our favorite appetizer—the Saucy Shrimp (shrimp with feta cheese, sundried tomatoes and kalamata olves) to share, and I ate two pieces of the hot bread dipped in olive oil.

I probably had about six of the shrimp with yummy feta and olives!

I also ordered a house salad with feta and dressing on the side right away…told ya I was starving! Ryan’s a good man to stand by me in moments such as this…

And for my entree, I ordered my favorite—–grilled salmon with pan asian sauce, steamed haricots verde (requested no butter), spinach and veggie medley. It was sooooooooooo delicious and, obviously worth the wait! However, after eating so much before my entree actually came, I found myself filling up very fast and only finished half of my fish.

There IS a fish underneath all those carrots! 😉

We are stuffed and watching No Reservations for about the 10th time. Love that movie. See you in the morning!

    congrats on your run yesterday!

i have definitely had that ‘oh god i am so hungry i feel ill’ feeling when i have done exactly what you did which is not eat much after a run b/c i am excited about dinner at a restaurant, and then not get food because of a wait (i think the alcohol makes it worse, too!). anyway i’m glad you ended up getting to refuel with such great food — the shrimp looks divine.
