Mornin’!
Yesterday I wished for sunshine and here it is! Now if it was only 20 degrees warmer……beggars can’t be choosers I guess. The good news is that in three weeks I will be basking in the glorious southern sun at Folly Beach when I go to Savannah and Charleston for a week over Easter. Mmmmmmmmm
I woke up at 2 a.m. and thought it was 7. Don’t ya love that? I finally figured it out and fell back to sleep till 6:30 then had some overnight oats for breakfast:

I love when that happens… the opposite happened to me last night. Right before I drifted off to sleep, I remember thinking that I was cold and that perhaps I should go get a blanket. I woke up at 7 am this morning, and it felt like a few MOMENTS later and I swear I still had that same thought in my head. My night passed by in a blink and I don’t feel like I slept at all! Arghghg!
Sunshine!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love it – but I hear ya on the 20 degrees warmer thing. It’s sunshiney and gorgeous in Paris, but around 30*. BRRR!
Hope your day is lovely – and hope you get some rest too. Something must have been in the air – I did the same thing last night! Woke up around 4:30 thinking it was time to start my day!
Hope you have a great one
YAY for sunshine! We are having a cloudy/drizzly week, but the sun was out for my run yesterday and it made all the difference. Perma grin on my face…yep, I was that girl.
Love the 2am fakeouts!
It is sunny here, but in the 20s! I could go for a lot more warmth!
Have fun on your sunshine-y 2 mile run! Enjoy the soaking up of Vitamin D!
Have fun on your sunshine-y 2 mile run! Enjoy soaking up the Vitamin D! I’m bummed because our sunshine is going away today for a few days of rain. Boo.
Talk about greedy–I’ll take another 30. I can handle 80-something degrees like a champ!
I spy a whopping dash/gob of cinnamon!! I literally POUR cinnamon on my food. So aromatic!
That’s the best feeling in the world, waking up and thinking it’s almost time to get up and then realizing you can have about 4 hours more sleep!
even here in cleveland we have had 5 DAYS of sunshine! But there is still SNOW on the ground here, so I could definitely use some warmer temps!
have a great day – happy writing!
I haven’t much liked my chia seeds yet, I guess I should try them in yogurt
That’s happened to me before – and I’m CONVINCED that it’s morning and then can’t get back to sleep.
Your oats look great! I love cinnamon.

Hi Jenna,
I know that you’re so RIDICULOUSLY busy (in such a fun, exciting way!), but I was wondering if you were planning on making a visit down the coast before you start your Paris adventures? Sunny Southern California would love to see you before you go! =)
Tiffany,
I would LOVE to go down to SoCal before I leave….trying to figure out the logistics of a trip….I want to!!!
eatmovelove,
Hmm most important tool? I’d say a good set of knives! And no, I do the majority of my writing at the coffee shop or in the library…at not at night. I’m a morning person and usually shut off my laptop for good around 8:30 every night. As for eating at night…I find if I eat a good dinner and have a small satisfying dessert, I’m fine. You have to be disciplined, I suppose! Don’t keep stuff around the house that you know you will snack on!
As a baker/cooker – what’s your most “important”/”needed” kitchen tool Jenna?
Also, do you do most of your writing at home? At night or during the day? I find I am so lazy after work and just can’t get myself together…plus I eat all night long when I’m home…is that a problem for you?
Love cinnamon too.
I had a morning like that. I woke up at 6.30 and realized I didn’t need to be up until 7.30 so I enjoyed snuggling back under the covers.
Overnight oats and a grapefruit are the best way to start a day!
Your breakfast looks so summery. A girl can dream….
For a second there I thought you did a post about Sunny-D
I’m loving the weather in DC!! It’s sunny at 65 degree!
Aaah I had overnight oats this morning too – OH I’d missed them!!
Have a good run
I hate when I wake up in the middle of the night and think it’s the morning already..s o annoying!
I’ve definitely woken up thinking it was morning, showered, and gotten all ready before realizing it was still 2am…maybe I should check the clock a little more closely, haha.
Glad its sunny there, enjoy the weather!
Did you like overnight oats from the first time you tried them? I’m asking because I just recently made them and they weren’t as great as I thought they would be. Wondering if it is something I will grow to like over time.
i love that, feels like lots of extra sleep! Enjoy the sun
It is a beautiful, sunny day here in LA too! Love the nice weather but I agree we need about another 10 degrees to make it even better.
Grapefruit is a hit or miss with me, sometimes i crave it and sometimes i hate it… But it looks good to me in your pic!
Sun is an environmental factor that I took for granted way too much when I did live in CA. Throw on a light jacket and enjoy it lady!
Your overnight oats look super filling and delish. Enjoy your run and strength circuit workout!
it is sunny down here too but very cold! What is it with this california weather…..grrrrrr………..
Have a good day writing!
Have a great day! I’ve been thinking it is almost time to switch to overnight oats with the weather warming up!
Yay for sunshine! And how awesome that you are going to Savannah and Charleston! I loooooove Savannah. I’d like to live there one day. Charleston and Savannah are a lot alike, now that I think about it..
I simply have no desire to eat a grapefruit! Maybe that’ll change one day
Happy Writing! I can’t wait to see your book in print!
I kinda love it when I wake up and realize I don’t have to be up for hours… Except for the panicking out part at first? That grapefruit looks so fresh and juicy!
Mmm, overnight oats. Enjoy the weather!
It is a gorgeous day in Chucktown today!!
It’s been an awful day here!
Good luck with the writing – 1st of April draws near!!!!!
It’s been so sunny here! It’s amazing!! Good luck with your writing!!

Awww…LOVE Folly Beach. I feel like that was where I spent 90% of my time my freshman year…instead of class, lol!!!
Don’t you love it when that happens? Feels like 5 free hours of sleep!
Hey Jenna,
So excited for your transition!!! Enjoy the sunshine:) I’m sure this has been addressed but what appliance do you use to make your green monsters? I use my cuisinart blender but it takes several minutes and seems like a struggle to get the ice/frozen blueberrise crushed etc. Any thoughts on the magic bullet/ninja/or anything else. A juicer isn’t in the budget.
Thanks,
Kara
Kara,
I use my VitaMix high speed blender. Couldn’t LIVE without it!!!!
enjoy the sunshine! it’s nice to see you running again!
Haha I love when that happens to me – it feels like I’m getting a few free hours of sleep.
