<p>Thank you all for the support last night regarding my preliminary interview. I&#8217;m trying not to get my hopes up because, in all honesty, it really is such a long shot that I would actually get the job. If its meant to be, it&#8217;ll be and I just have to focus on being calm for my call this afternoon! I&#8217;m sure they are going to wonder how in world I managed to get over 1,000 votes and I can say, well <strong>I have over 1,000 friends all over the world</strong>! <img src='http://www.eatliverun.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' />  You guys are awesome!</p>
<p>Its raining AGAIN this morning (I love it!) and I made <strong>the largest bowl of oat bran ever</strong>&#8212;</p>

<p><strong>It was seriously so large I *almost* couldn&#8217;t finish it.</strong> Almost being the key word. It contained:</p>
<ul>
<li>1/2 cup oat bran</li>
<li>1.5 cups water (this is the secret for a HUGE bowl of oat bran!)</li>
<li>cinnamon + sea salt</li>
<li>1 banana</li>
<li>scoop of raw almond butter</li>
<li>1/4 cup 2% Fage</li>
<li>pure maple syrup drizzled on top</li>
</ul>
<p>I hope my tummy stops feeling so full soon because in an hour I leave for my hot yoga flow class and I hate to feel bloated on my mat.</p>
<p><strong>Last night I surprised Ryan with another cupcake from <em>Frostings</em>, the cute little cupcake joint I visited on Sunday.</strong></p>

<p>Tiramisu is his favorite dessert so I got him one of their homemade (no mixes used here!) tiramisu cupcake! I had a tiny sample at the store when I picked this up and it was<strong> divine.</strong> Not too sweet and the frosting had marscapone cheese in it. SO yummy. He thought so too&#8212;</p>

<p>Ryan said &#8220;it tasted just like tiramisu and was fun to eat&#8221;. I also was given <strong>a champagne pear bellini cupcake </strong>to sample but I haven&#8217;t tried that one yet. Today might be the day! <img src='http://www.eatliverun.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>Okay kiddies, I&#8217;m off to get my yoga clothes on and hydrate!</strong> I was going to walk to the studio but since its raining I&#8217;m going to have to drive. Boo</p>

<p>When you get a chance, please <a href="http://www.tampabay.com/news/obituaries/article996642.ece">click over</a> to read a story written about John, which was featured in our local newspaper today. The reporters did a really good job&#8230;I was a little nervous because you just never know when it comes to that sort of thing, but they honored his life and we were all proud to read it. They even mentioned the blog in it!</p>
<p>This morning I got up around 7:45 (who am I?) and had a big bowl of <strong>oat bran</strong> for breakfast</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7120" title="img_6913" src="http://eatliverun.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/img_6913.jpg" alt="img_6913" width="498" height="373" /></p>
<p>This is a combo of <strong>1/2 cup oat bran cooked in 1.5 cups water, a banana, cinnamon, sea salt, dried cranberries and raw almond butter.</strong> It cooked up HUGE and was almost a little too much! I think it was the extra half cup of water that I used&#8230;.tons of volume!</p>
<p><strong>I swam laps after I digested but for the first time I didn&#8217;t time myself so I have no idea how long I swam.</strong> I don&#8217;t think it was that long though&#8230;probably more like 15-20 minutes. It was all I could handle. After talking to my dad this morning, I have quit the YMCA and will be taking over my brother&#8217;s membership at the fancy shmancy health club here in town. It was actually quite funny because John never really worked out&#8230;&#8230;he would just go and sit in the steam room then shower and come home. I always made fun of him for spending so much money to just sit in the steam room but he loved it so much. Well, his membership has now been handed down to me so I can sit in the steam room all I want. They have a very nice lap pool as well so I can continue my training there.</p>
<p>Lunch was actually quite delicious. I made an <strong>egg sandwich</strong> with 1 egg + 1 egg white with an ounce of 2 year old aged sharp cheddar and two slices of Ezekiel bread and had blueberries on the side&#8212;</p>

<p>I made my mom the same exact lunch and she loved it as well.</p>
<p><strong>Unfortunately we all can&#8217;t get our tattoos until Wednesday</strong>. Apparently you have to make an appointment for such things and my mom really wants to go to this one guy that her yoga teacher swears by. I&#8217;m pretty disappointed since I was really hoping to share it with all of John&#8217;s friends after school today (its their last day of high school!) but I guess I&#8217;ll just have to wait. Instead, I forgot that I have my yearly eye exam and then we are starting grief counseling.</p>
<p>Ryan is gone until late tomorrow night now. He didn&#8217;t want to fish in his yearly Kingfish tournament this year but I made him do it because John would have LOVED to fish this with him. John loved hearing about Ryan&#8217;s fishing adventures and stole all of Ryan&#8217;s fishing shirts to wear around the house. Ryan changed the name of his team to <em>&#8220;Team Johnny Weber&#8221; </em>and all of his fishing teammates (partners? who knows) are wearing black wrist bands in remembrance. I know that John will be sitting on that boat with them all and let&#8217;s hope they catch the big one!</p>

<h3>2. <strong>I am SO freakin&#8217; sore from Jillian&#8217;s Shred yesterday!</strong></h3>
<p><strong> </strong>Holy cow&#8230;I got out of bed this morning and almost fell over. Every muscle is sore and it has been a huge ordeal lifting heavy bread dough and equipment all day! The soreness and seeing<strong><a href="http://healthytippingpoint.com"> Caitlin&#8217;s</a> amazing review</strong> this morning really sealed the deal on the Shred for me. What a fantastic workout! I&#8217;m going to try to do it as much as possible!</p>
<p><strong>All that being said, let&#8217;s get back to the food!</strong> This morning around 3:30 I had <strong>my new favorite bar</strong> and a pear on the way to work:</p>

<p>Now, I did spend <strong>$100</strong>, which is definitely more than I usually spend on food&#8230;.<strong>but look at how much stuff I got!</strong> I wrote a list and <em>pretty much</em> stuck to it, minus a few fun items. Organic produce always gets me!<strong> I know that eating healthy DOES cost you, but in my personal opinion, I would rather spend $100 on food I can feel good about putting into my body then go to mall and spend $100 on a new outfit.</strong> My priorities are just different I guess! This food will last me for awhile and I had to buy all the ingredients to make Ryan and I a nice dinner tonight.</p>
<p>When I put everything away I made<strong> a mad rush </strong>to make something to eat before I had to go see my accountant.</p>

<p><strong>The perfect mini-meal!!! </strong>This is <strong>a toasted pepperidge farm fruit &amp; grains bagel with 2 egg whites, a light laughing cow cheese </strong>and<strong> a morningstar farms soysage</strong>. YUM!</p>
<p>I&#8217;m about to make another mini-meal right now actually and then head over to my doctor&#8217;s appointment to get the bone scan results back! Wish me luck, friends! As I said before,<strong> I am cooking dinner for myself and the boy tonight.</strong> Fridays are always a bit tough because<strong> right now I AM SO TIRED</strong> since I have been up since 3 AM and will be staying up past my &#8220;bedtime&#8221; (7:00) tonight, obviously. I just have to suck it up though and keep on trucking!!!</p>

Breakfast is, if you don&#8217;t know, <strong>my favorite meal of the day </strong>and on the weekends I like to have things that I can&#8217;t have during the week when I pack my meal. I thought maybe waffles or almond butter toast or another yogurt bowl&#8230;&#8230;..but when it all came down to it, <strong>I needed my oat fix!</strong></p>

<p><strong>This bowl contains:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>1/2 cup oat bran cooked in 1 cup water</li>
<li>1 sliced banana</li>
<li>1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder</li>
<li>1 huge scoop almond butter</li>
<li>few chocolate chips for fun!</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>It took me a solid 15 minutes to eat.</strong> I LOVE just being able to relax in the morning&#8230;.just to be able to drink my coffee and eat my oatmeal in my pajamas is something I used to take for granted but never anymore!</p>
<p><strong>This morning I am going with my mom to a 9:00 Bikram class and I am so psyched</strong>. I haven&#8217;t been able to get to an actual yoga class in months because of my schedule and the ONLY class I can make a week is on Sunday mornings. I&#8217;m really going to try to go more often though because I miss it so much and especially now with all my training getting started up, I feel feel like I <strong>need</strong> one full 90 minute yoga class a week to stretch me out.</p>
<p><strong>After Bikram I am meeting<a href="http://muchfruit.wordpress.com/"> Sarah</a> for lunch at Whole Foods! </strong>Yip yip hooray! =)</p>

<p><strong> </strong>My mouth was seriously watering as I looked over all the recipes I have so far. Everything looks so delicious and I can&#8217;t wait to try some of these recipes!<strong> I need more though!</strong> Please, please, please send over your recipes to <span style="color: #ff00ff;">HelpJennaRun@gmail.com </span>. It doesn&#8217;t have to be fancy and can be a recipe that you make all the time and have changed maybe an ingredient or so to &#8220;make it your own&#8221;. I can&#8217;t wait to see the finished product&#8230;I know it will be <strong>fabulous</strong>!</p>
<p>This morning I started off my day with more<strong> hot carbs and nut butter </strong>(hehe):</p>

<p>This would be a delicious toasted Rudi&#8217;s Honey Sweet Whole Wheat bagel with pumpkin seed buttah and raspberry preserves! YUMO!</p>
<p><strong>I just LOVE this pumpkin seed butter.</strong></p>

<p><strong> </strong>You can&#8217;t be the stats for anything in the world. <strong>One serving of two tbsp is equal to 10.5 GRAMS OF PROTEIN (!), 160 calories and 13 grams of fat</strong>. Plus, it is <span style="color: #008000;">green</span> and tastes totally nutty and delicious! This awesome snack definitely kept my engines going for about five hours til&#8217; it was breakfast time!</p>
<p>This morning I broke out these bad boys</p>

<p><strong>These little &#8220;cookies&#8221; are 100% raw and are so crisp, delicious and addicting!! </strong>I crumbled a few of them over my morning bowl of oat bran, along with almond butter and 1/2 banana for a yummy treat of a breakfast</p>

<p>Delicious and filling&#8230;I loved the little crunchy cookie bits in my almond butter! <img src='http://www.eatliverun.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>We finished everything at superman pace this morning and I got home early, around 11:45. I wasted no time in getting lunch on the table! Here is my<strong> Rudi&#8217;s 7 grain + flax wrap stuffed with 1/4 cup Cedar&#8217;s roasted garlic hummus, 1 orange bell pepper, 2 stalks celery and 1/4th of an avocado</strong>&#8212;</p>

<p>I was so stuffed after this monster of a wrap that I didn&#8217;t eat the cheese! <strong>I DID manage to fit in two tiny squares of organic dark chocolate though</strong> <img src='http://www.eatliverun.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>After I ate I (almost) immediately set off on my bike. I really wanted to get in a decent bike ride before I was due at<a href="http://muchfruit.wordpress.com/"> Sarah&#8217;s</a> house for<a href="http://livingproofministries.blogspot.com/"> bible study</a> at 1:30. So, I put on the Garmin, helmet and <a href="http://www.roadid.com">RoadID</a> (obvious essentials) and off I went! And I&#8217;ll proudly say it again, I LOVE MY GARMIN! Today I set it on bike setting and I just loved how it tracked my distance and everything..told me when to cycle faster and when to slow down&#8212;it was awesome! <strong>Between getting to <a href="http://muchfruit.wordpress.com/">Sarah&#8217;s </a>house and later getting home, I cranked out a hot and sweaty almost-10 miles and got my heart rate pretty high up there. </strong>I was feelin&#8217; the burn for sure!</p>

<p><strong>Too bad my Target bike is the slow kid in the group even though I pedal with all my heart and soul. </strong>Seriously&#8230;people lap me on their super cool road bikes like its no one&#8217;s business. Good thing <a href="http://muchfruit.wordpress.com/">Sarah</a> is letting me borrow her road bike for my triathlon this summer (thank you, Sarah!!!!!!!)! <strong>Her bike has 21 speeds and mine has 6</strong>&#8230;&#8230;.maybe that&#8217;s where the problem lies? <img src='http://www.eatliverun.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>During our bible study time, I snacked on this yummy bar:</p>

<p>And then when I finally made it home <em>(after being locked out and waiting for my mom to get home from work)</em>, I heated up this delicious dinner:</p>

<p>I realize now looking back that I HAVE been eating a lot of frozen dinners lately, which is rather unlike me because I love, love, love to cook! However, this is a good example of <strong>when real life gets in the way</strong>! Between my 3 AM wake-up call to working on my feet for 9 hours a day, blogging, reading blogs, emailing, working out, bible study, walking dogs, making breakfasts for upcoming days&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;<strong>.I just can&#8217;t do it all</strong>! I know there are many of you that feel the same way, no?!</p>
<p><strong>That&#8217;s why in situations like this, <a href="http://amyskitchen.com/">Amy&#8217;s</a> is a GREAT alternative.</strong> Actually I think it is the best alternative! This meal was absolutely delicious and contained<strong> 21 grams of protein, 380 calories and 17 grams of fat.</strong> I think I am in love with Amy&#8217;s tofu because no matter what, it is always chewy and perfect! In this meal, it was seasoned with Mexican spices, sprinkled with cheese and served on a mini corn tortilla. Also included in the meal were creamy black beans and delicious roasted potatoes. I would definitely buy this again! <p>I served my entree with salsa on the side and hot sauce drizzled all over the place! <strong>I also had the sweetest, ripest mango I have EVER had.</strong> No seriously! It was soooo mouth watering yummy!</p>

<p>Okay. <strong>I have seriously been eating my WEIGHT in nut butter lately! </strong>But I just love it so! <img src='http://www.eatliverun.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  No one else in my family helps me out with eating the almond butter&#8230;its just my addiction and <strong>I really do eat about a whole jar every week and a half all by myself.</strong></p>
<p>Tonight I scraped down the sides of this near empty jar so I had some topping for my warm VitaBrownie!</p>

<p><strong>I am SO happy tomorrow is Friday! </strong>Unfortunately my love is going out of town all weekend with &#8220;the boys&#8221; so I am flyin&#8217; solo. Tomorrow should be interesting as<strong> I actually am going to see a new sports medicine doctor regarding my shin splints! </strong>The pain is NOTHING like it was<a href="http://eatliverun.com/an-answer/"> last fall</a> (thank God!) but with<a href="http://eatliverun.com/team-in-training/"> Team in Training practice </a>starting in 6 weeks, I just want <strong>to be sure I take all the precautions and train the proper way.</strong> Part of me thinks I am just plagued with shin splints forever, but I&#8217;m still hoping and praying for a miracle. This doctor I am seeing tomorrow sounds really great and has worked with Tampa&#8217;s professional sports teams a lot during training. Hopefully he can show me some strengthening exercises and get me on the right foot (no pun intended) to start my half marathon training!</p>
<p><strong>And tomorrow night I am very excited to take a Jenna-night</strong>. Every girl needs a night to herself once in awhile right??! I feel like so often we get so busy with everything that we forget to take care of the most important thing&#8230;<strong>ourselves</strong>! So, tomorrow night I am picking up Indian take-out, drinking red wine and <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">passing out</span> watching a movie. Good thing Ryan found me this coupon to my favorite Indian place!<br />

<p><strong>I&#8217;m in a GREAT mood because I got out of work at 10:45 this morning!! </strong>Yesterday was a long HARD day and so today we vowed to just put the pedal to the metal and get it all done quickly. It was awesome.</p>
<p>Another awesome thing was that last night was one of those very (very!) rare nights when I fell asleep AS SOON AS my head hit the pillow&#8230;.at 7:00! <strong>Its amazing how much better you feel when you have slept.</strong> On my way to work I had <strong>a pure bar and an apple&#8212;</strong></p>

<p>And then after about 4 1/2 hours of fast paced bread baking, I took a breakfast break. <strong>Today combo was 1/2 cup oat bran made with water, cinnamon, sea salt, 1/2 banana, 1/2 scoop vanilla protein, almond butter and the last of <a href="http://www.fitnessista.com/">Gina&#8217;s macaroons</a></strong>!!! I&#8217;m so sad that they are finally gone!</p>

<p>I think it might have been all the water I was drinking,<strong> but after eating this I was SO FULL</strong>. Crazy, crazy full!</p>
<p><strong>Lunch was very early, around 11:00!</strong> Sweet! I had simple, fueling foods because I&#8217;m actually about to head over to the trail I ran <a href="http://eatliverun.com/strong-happy/">last Sunday</a> for a 3 mile run.<strong> I had two dates stuffed with almond butter</strong>&#8212;</p>

<p><strong>A big baked garnet yam</strong>&#8212;</p>

<p><strong>And a BIG glass of coconut water</strong>. I&#8217;m hydrating like CRAZY because it is sunny and hot outside</p>

<p><strong>Wow&#8230;am I ever glad this week is over!</strong> I officially need a glass of vino. Asap! Too bad I&#8217;m still all stuffy <img src='http://www.eatliverun.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif' alt=':(' class='wp-smiley' /> . I did sleep like a total rock last night, which was amazing and probably the first time I&#8217;ve slept through the night in about two weeks so that&#8217;s always a plus. Today I felt better but work was just so crazy (my co-worker never showed then we found out later she was really sick as well) and I worked my <strong>tailfeathers</strong> off and even stayed 40 minutes late to finish rolling pitas, flatbreads and bake a batch of chocolate vegan cupcakes. Craziness!</p>
<p>This morning I started my day off with <strong>a yummy banana with almond butter and 2 egg white fluffies</strong>:</p>

<h3><strong> I just love biting into these oh-so-fluffy egg whites. </strong>I used to think egg whites were so boring but these have remarkably changed my perspective&#8230;they are like little <span style="color: #3366ff;">clouds</span>!</h3>
<h3>Breakfast was amazing&#8212;</h3>

<p>1/2 cup oat bran with 1/2 scoop chocolate protein, 1/2 smashed banana, 1 of <a href="http://www.fitnessista.com/">Gina&#8217;s </a>crumbled macaroonies (!!!!) and a huge splat of almond butter&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;..delicious!!! And super filling. <strong>This breakfast kept me going from 8 a.m all the way to 1:15!</strong></p>
<p>As I said before, I stayed late at work and then I had to pick up some groceries and I really wanted to try to work out AND take a nap before my 4:00 doctor&#8217;s appointment. I know, I know&#8230;too much. And I will rightly admit that I am sort of a control freak when it comes to my days.<strong> I get stressed out trying to jam pack things into every second I have and often forget to take care of the most important thing&#8212;myself!</strong> So, I realized there was no way I could make it to the gym, grocery shop, take a nap and blog in a two hour time frame so I decided to just grocery shop and then come home and rest for about an hour. If after my doctor&#8217;s appointment I feel more energized, I&#8217;ll workout but I&#8217;m not going to stress myself out over it.</p>
<p>Whew! That being said, here was my sad and<strong> rushed </strong>lunch today&#8212;</p>

<p><strong>I hate to rely on nutrition/protein bars for meals but sometimes it just must be done. </strong>I ate this while I grocery shopped because it was already 1:30 almost and I was starving! The bar was actually quite good. <strong>And this isn&#8217;t the 170 calorie Kashi bar, it is the 290 calorie one that is meant for more of a meal replacement.</strong> It was between this and a clif bar and I chose this because it contained <strong>more calories and protein</strong>. The taste was yummy but it wasn&#8217;t too big for the amount of calories that it was! It did its job of filling me up for about an hour but now it is 2:45 and <strong>my tummy is rumbling again</strong> was a snack!</p>
<p>(oh, and the Kombucha was diiiiiivine. Obvi)</p>
<p><strong>Snack was 1 chobani with 1/4 cup  muesli and topped with pineapple, blueberries, agave and cinnamon</strong></p>

<p><strong>Well, I called in sick</strong>! I felt horrible doing it and hope it doesn&#8217;t put the people I work with in a total bind, but I still CANNOT BREATHE at all and my head feels like it weights a thousand pounds. I just could not see myself being on my feet hauling dough around for 9 hours today.<strong> I needed some rest</strong>! I actually called in yesterday evening and knowing I didn&#8217;t have to wake up at 3 am definitely put an ease to my sleep anxieties. Even though I had to take loud breathes through my mouth (even Afrin didn&#8217;t unplug my nose!), I fell asleep around 8:15 and got a solid<strong> 9.5 hours of sleep!</strong> This morning I&#8217;m still all congested and blah but at least my eyes aren&#8217;t sunken into my head anymore from sleep deprivation!</p>
<p>I woke up around 5:30 and went downstairs to make coffee and <strong>a snack </strong>because I didn&#8217;t want to eat breakfast that early! All studies have shown that<strong> you really should eat something within an hour of waking up</strong> (good for your metabolism) and I like to keep my breakfast time around 7:30-8:00 every day. So, this morning I made <strong>a piece of Rudi&#8217;s whole wheat toast with a little peanut butter and raspberry preserves </strong>to take back up to bed with me&#8211;</p>

<p><strong>It felt really really good to just lay in bed sipping my coffee and eating my toast </strong>(except for the fact I had to blow my nose every 2 seconds)<strong>. </strong>My favorite part of the day is the morning when everyone else is still asleep but me and I can just take some time to myself&#8230;.this morning I read some Psalms, prayed, read a little of my new book and <strong>worked on a new itunes playlist for my race on Sunday</strong>! I am ADDICTED to buying songs on Itunes. Seriously&#8230;it is a problem! What are some of yalls favorite running songs? Here is my new playlist:</p>

<p><strong>Its crazy how much faster and more effective my runs are when I crank up good tunes! </strong>I NEVER listen to rap/hip hop other than when I&#8217;m running and Ryan laughed soooooo hard when I told him that,<strong> yes</strong>,<strong> I have three six mafia on my ipod.</strong> Okay, actually I said &#8220;I have three 10 mafia!!&#8221; and Ryan looked at me like I was crazy and then was like, <em>&#8220;um Jenna, I think you mean three six mafia</em>.&#8221; Duh. Who would have thought?! Usually I&#8217;m a country/contemporary christian music listener! haha =) I guess I just need me some Nelly and Kanye to get goin&#8217; fast!</p>
<p>Around 7:30 I went downstairs and made breakfast&#8230;.something<strong> different </strong>today!</p>

<li>1 babybel cheese &#8220;melted&#8221; into the hot oat bran</li>
<li>1 morningstar farms original grillers veggie burger (because my soysage is in Ryan&#8217;s freezer)</li>
<li>2 microwaved egg whites for fluff!</li>
<li>TONS of texas pete</li>
</ul>
<p>Very, very tasty! A nice change from my usual sweet &amp; nutty oats although I did sort of miss <strong>my daily dose of almond butter</strong>! The day is still young though and I can make up for it later&#8230;</p>
<p>I also had some<strong> raspberry tea</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><!-- Start Shareaholic LikeButtonSetTop Automatic --><!-- End Shareaholic LikeButtonSetTop Automatic --><p><strong>Well, the day has finally arrived!</strong> For two years in a row now I have originally planned on running the Gasparilla Distance Challenge Half Marathon and then developed such excruciating shin splints that I had to drop out from the running. HOWEVER, this morning I am not focusing on the negative, but instead the positive, which is that <strong>I still get to participate and run the 5K!</strong></p>
<p><strong>This will be my first 5K ever;</strong> in November of 2007 I ran a 10K and loved it. I finished in 55 minutes, which was pretty good for someone running with the<strong> Galloway method </strong>(I ran 4 minutes and walked 1 the entire time). I&#8217;m not going for time today at all&#8230;.I&#8217;m just doing this to have fun and finish strong (hopefully pain-free!)! I am excited to catch up with <a href="http://healthytippingpoint.com">Caitlin</a> and <a href="http://graduatemeghann.com/">Meghann</a>, who are being rockstars and have already run a 15K today! Wooheee!!</p>
<p>This morning I arose at the lovely hour of 5:45, thinking how wonderful it felt to sleep in!!! haha <img src='http://www.eatliverun.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  I read some psalms, drank some water, read some Esther and then made breakfast.<strong> Since the race isn&#8217;t until 9:30 I decided to just eat a normal hearty breakfast this morning as opposed to just a snack with a meal after</strong>.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5716" title="img_5198" src="http://eatliverun.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/img_5198.jpg" alt="img_5198" width="460" height="614" /></p>
<p>Oat bran! I love you! This was a combo of<strong> 1/2 cup oat bran cooked in 1/2 cup skim, 1/2 cup water and 1 sliced banana</strong>, and then mixed with<strong> 1/2 scoop chocolate protein</strong> (for an extra kick today!!), and a healthy scoop of <strong>mr. almond butter.</strong> If that&#8217;s not fuel, I don&#8217;t know what IS!</p>
<p>I<strong>&#8216;m off to get some coffee and then get dressed and head over to Greenwise to meet my coworkers! </strong>From Greenwise we will all be walking over to the starting point and then hopefully I&#8217;ll find<a href="http://healthytippingpoint.com"> Caitlin</a> and <a href="http://graduatemeghann.com/">Meghann</a> in the crowd. Ryan and my parents will also be somewhere in the crowd (this race generates<strong> THOUSANDS</strong>) with the camera. I&#8217;ll be done by 10:00 and then there was talk about<strong> laying by the pool and eating pita pit</strong>, which sounds fine with me.</p>

<p>This yummy European snack did the trick! Plus,<strong> it was a nice change from something sweet in the morning.</strong> I hard boiled four eggs last night so you will probably see a repeat in the near future!</p>
<p>Breakfast was oat bran. And a lot of it.<strong> 3/4 cup dry mixed with 1.5 cups water, pinch of salt, sprinkle of brown sugar, blueberries &amp; blackberries and a heaping spoonful of almond butter</strong>:</p>

<p>And then lunch was what was worth writing home about. Seriously! When I got home from work I quickly whipped up a batch of <strong><em>Eat, Drink and Be Vegan&#8217;s </em>Peanut Sesame Hummus (AMAZING) in the Vita Mix and slathered it on a toasted Ezekiel english muffin with one slice pepperjack cheese and about a fourth of an avocado</strong></p>

<p><strong>The hummus is made from chickpeas, peanut butter (!!), toasted sesame oil, lime juice, ginger, agave nectar, garlic and hot pepper flakes</strong>. I love how the peanut butter lends a subtle sweetness and also a tad more protein to the mix! I&#8217;ve said it before and I&#8217;ll say it again&#8212;I have NEVER been let down by this cookbook! If you are in the market to just buy one new book, <strong>make it this one</strong>! <a href="http://vivelevegan.blogspot.com/">Dreena</a> is a goddess and my copy is already all stained and worn around the edges. Love it!</p>
