Behind The Butter

Technology Is Not My Friend

Happy Thursday!

Having a bit of a frustrating day over here in regards to technology….stay with me!!

This morning I had oatmeal..again! 2 packets of instant oats with soymilk, cinnamon, blueberries, maple syrup and peanut butter!

For a morning snack, I grabbed the only thing I could find in the pantry!

IMG_3088

I haven’t had one of these bars in years and I have to admit, it was pretty tasty and it DID keep my hunger at bay for the following three hours.

Highlights of work included some beautiful red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting….

IMG_3089

And Christie getting down and dirty with the fruit loop marshmallow treats….

IMG_3118

Deliciousness.

We were STARVING when we left at 1:30 and headed straight for Toojays….I had forgotten how much I love this place! It was pouring and I was freezing so I immediately ordered a cup of matza ball soup—

And then the Mediterranean health trio salad plate! SO GOOD!

IMG_3124

This had tabbouli, hummus, warm pita bread and fresh fruit. It hit the spot. 🙂

I’m doing work on the computer for the rest of the afternoon and then tonight Christie and I are going to dinner with a couple friends—tomorrow morning I head home!

Off to put my technology game face on and attempt to do surgery on my camera, which fell today at work and sort of broke. Wish me luck!

If you wear serving gloves and spray them with oil when you make sticky things like the fruit loop stuff and rice krispie treats then it wont stick to your hands and its much easier to handle 🙂

Red velvet cupcakes are my absolute favorite (along with red velvet everythingggggggg:) and those look delish.

At Channelside on the “back” side of Coldstone (next door to the wine shop) there is a chocolate shop called Qachbal’s Chocolatier that sells red velvet cheesecake… its almost necessary that it is split, but its to die for.

They do have some great menu items, even if the atmosphere is a little lacking. 🙂 Hope you’ll be willing to share the address of the bakery w/me after you head back… it looks amazing. Sorry about your camera & hope you have safe travels.

Ooh, that looks like a great meal — little bit of everything. Good news about the Fiber One bar, though! Cascadian Farm makes an organic (and thus relatively junk-free; certainly no HFCS, like Fiber One) version of this bar: it’s called Fiber Right Chewy Granola Bar, in Dark Chocolate Almond. My mom loved the Fiber One kind so she was relieved when I accidentally discovered these at a random Wal-Mart. 🙂

That “health plate” looks delicious! I hope everything goes ok with your camera! I ALWAYS break my cameras… my boyfriend bought me my last one, and although I’ve been very careful with it thus far and nothing has happened to it (knock on wood it wont!) he got me an extra warantee because I’m so accident prone! So I feel ya! hehe
