Thankful For Friendship

Hi guys!

Hows your Monday goin? Up until now I’ve had a serious case of the Mondays….!

I’ve totally been having one of those birdbrain days…….as in I couldn’t find my purse and walked around the condo searching for it only to realize it was hanging on my shoulder. Uh yeah. I did manage to do 50 minutes of the latest Dave Farmar podcast though! It wasn’t as hard as the previous one but my heart wasn’t in it today and I kept falling all over the place. Finally, 50 minutes into it, I just cut it off. No point going through the entire thing if you aren’t reaping the mental benefits! I have a lot on my mind and usually yoga centers me but today I was all over the place.

After yoga I made a quick lunch before heading out to run errands. I LOVE these and today was the perfect day for it:

Seriously. So freakin’ good. Amy, I love you.

I also had 2 organic carrots with Naturally More pb, grape tomatoes and raspberries. It was a tasty meal!

I stopped by my parent’s house to drop off dinner for them tonight since my mom had to work last night and they couldn’t come to my dinner party. They got a plethora of leftovers though including Mediterranean grouper, garlic yuca and ceviche! When I pulled up to the house I saw that I had two packages! The first one was from Yolie, my yoga dear in the UK. My day was instantly brightened when I ripped open the package and red sparkles and confetti flew out! Have I mentioned how much I adore European goodies?!

IMG_0934.JPG

And the second package was from Angela…..my belated birthday gift!! I had mentioned about a month ago how much I love her tea box since I am an avid herbal tea drinker myself. So what does the girl do?! Go and get me my very own special tea box stuffed with over a hundred tea bags!!!!!!!!! Ange, I love you! I will cherish this box forever 🙂

She also sent me a baggie of her yummy granola bars, which I can’t wait to break into. Sweeeeet!

When I got home I stuffed ALL of my tea into the tea box and now it is so stuffed I can’t even close the lid properly. Looks like we know what I’ll be drinking for awhile! 😉 I glued the little card that Yolie sent in her package to the inside of the box so whenever I open it I can think very happy thoughts and think of my Canadian and UK girlfriends—-

I had to run through Whole Foods to pick up some ingredients in bulk (spelt flour, oats, sugar…..) and with that my entire day turned around. I came home to start baking a HUGE batch of Super Charge Me Cookies (from Dreena Burton’s Eat Drink and Be Vegan) for us, my parents and Miss Amy, the lucky winner on Shop 4 A Cause! So far, I’ve eaten a little bit of dough but been pretty good (usually I consume about seven cookies worth of dough when I bake these) and I’m about to go meet Sarah for tea at Starbucks.

Thank you all SO MUCH for continuing to send weeknight dinner recipes for the new e-cookbook! Just a gentle reminder to be sure to email your recipe to HelpJennaRun@gmail.com , not my blog email address because I don’t want any recipes getting lost in black hole which is my inbox. Everything sounds great so far—keep ’em coming! 🙂

I have been thinking over the recipe today and am going to make it tomorrow for dinner. It’s something I make that usually requires more time but part of the meal will be from a crockpot to cut down on the part of it-and I changed the meat to a seafood to mix it up. I am excited to try it!:)

I certainly don’t rejoice when you lock your keys in the car or the door falls off your oven, but it definitely lets me know that I am not the only one who has “those days.” Super Charge Me cookies definitely can only make it better!!!

That quote is simply lovely.I love the idea of a tea box and quote in it as well.Nothing as soothing as a cup of tea…have you tried Yogi’s Lemon Ginger?Better than any other lemon ginger out there-mmmm…
Have you read Gliding Calm’s post about spinach/green smoothies/calcium problems? She wrote a great post yesterday I believe about all this, and seeing how many monsters you and the man consume wonder your thoughts on this?
Thanks.Love your blog and your hopeful good natured spirit that is always looking for where the sun will shine around the corner.Your optimism and hope in such a dark time of grief has given me renewed hope.
    Thanks for making a difference.

      Aoife,

I have not tried Lemon Ginger! Sound fabulous…will be on the lookout. And, yes, I’ve read her post! My mantra is everything is fine in moderation. I don’t eat an entire bag of spinach daily and a do take calcium supplements. If spinach kills me then you KNOW there’s a problem. ; ) I’m not worried in the least bit.

I wasn’t hungry til I read this post.
I guess I need to stop reading delicious food blogs if I’m ever going to lose weight!
Alternatively, I could probably stand to stop blogging about chocolate, but what fun is that?

Good to know that the Amy’s frozen dinners are good. I see them all the time with the other frozen stuff, and have always been reluctant to buy ANYTHING frozen! But I’ll pick some up for next time I’m in a food pinch.

Jenna- what a lovely gift you got from Angela! So nice! I can tell it’s from Canada with the view of the “President’s Choice tea”
Enjoy! I really love that quote too.

I love that your purse was on your shoulder when you spent time looking for it! hahaha I have definitely been there on more than one occasion!! Have you ever thrown a fork or something in the garbage rather than the garbage by mistake? hahaha

    Have a great evening!
