The Dynamic Duo

Good morning, friends!!

The e-cookbook sales just keep going and going….I love it!! I just keep thinking of all the further research that is now possible because of the money and I feel very happy inside. Ryan, too, feels very strongly about kicking cancer’s butt and he is one of the founders of 1 Voice Foundation, a foundation to help kids with cancer here in Tampa. Together, when our forces combine, we make the ultimate cancer fighting duo.

This morning I had more of a grey-ish monster:

It was still good though! I used:
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 spoonful raw almond butter
  • 3 dinosaur kale leaves
  • 1 scoop original Amazing Meal
  • 1/2 scoop Amazing Grass wheatgrass

I’ve gotten a few emails regarding the 40% discount so here are the facts one more time. Until Thursday night at midnight if you order a 2lb bulk container or any flavor of Amazing Meal (Amazing Meal only…not SuperFood or Wheatgrass), you will get 40% off your order as well as a free shaker. The code to punch in at check out is EatLiveRun40%AM. Usually, the 2lb bulk container is $70 and with this discount it is only $41.

Also, I’ve received emails questioning what my favorite flavor of the Amazing Meal is. Personally, I’m a chocolate gal so I like that. Its sweeter than the original and when you mix it with almond milk it tastes just like chocolate milk (well sort of)! The original though can be mixed with a variety of more ingredients since its so generic. And, its less sweet.

I also tried out my new tea this morning!

hey jenna, i was just wondering what the difference is between regular almond butter and raw almond butter. i have some almond butter i bought at costco, but it is made from roasted almonds. is raw butter healthier? thanks!

      Ingrid,

Raw almond butter is made from raw almonds and regular is made from roasted. There’s always a debate about which one is healthier but in my mind, they are pretty much both comparable so it just depends on what taste you like better! I like both!

I love yogi teas – especially the detox variety! It has a great spicy taste. And I realllyyyy need to snag some Amazing Meal before the promo ends – I’ve seen it at Whole Foods, but no discount there!

I just want to thank you for all you, and Ryan!, do for the fight to end cancer. My aunt has been battling breast cancer for at least 10 years…and we just found out last week that she has multiple brain tumors. So it means a lot to me to see people out there trying to fight it!

    Jenna,

I was wondering about how you gave up coffee. I really want to give it up since I can’t seem to get going in the morning without it, I feel like I have become Dependant on it and don’t want that! Did you just switch to tea and never go back or did you gradually cut it out? Thanks for any advice!

Yay for Yogi tea!!! I had a similar choc. shake this morning. I like adding dark choc. coco powder and dark choc. stevia to my shakes. It makes them just like dessert even with the greens thrown in :).

Great to hear that you and Ryan are so involved in beating cancer :). I love green monsters, but I don’t know if I can handle them with kale, since it has such a strong taste.

I recently became a fan of regular old green tea, the decaf version. I swear, it just makes me feel better and more energized! I was afraid of the taste, but it’s great! I’d like to try this new version . . . does it come in decaf?

    • jenna
      June 23, 2009 at 2:14 pm

      Tammy,

Nope, this kind does NOT come in decaf. It does taste very delicious though!

      Mrs. Myers,

Nope–I found this at Whole Foods

      Becca,

Honestly, my go to tea is peppermint. I’ve drank peppermint tea since I was a little girl and it always has a very calming effect on me. I love it–its great iced, too!

What happened to the comment about extreme dieting? I’ve actually been wondering the same thing lately. Your meals have changed lately into what seems to be a rather structured diet. I don’t see much of the everyday type of things you used to eat and that are common in most people’s lives. Are you making a change in your diet?

    • jenna
      June 23, 2009 at 6:06 pm

      Sue,

I can say with 100% honestly that I really don’t know what you are talking about. I don’t feel at all I eat any different than I ever have and I’m not making any changes (that I know about!). If you still have a question, feel free to email me. I feel like things like bananas, salad, peanut butter, veggie burgers, chicken and pizza are pretty common in most people’s lives……?
