Breakfast/ Dinner

The First and The Last

Happy Sunday yall!

Sorry for the belated post but yesterday was just so crazy and then lost track of time, had to rush to my mom’s house for dinner, Ryan got hot wax from a candle in his eye (long story but he’s okay now) and then we went to the engagement party and didn’t get home until midnight.

I’m having so much fun organizing and putting away everything here! While Ryan watched the Gators lose (as he laid on the floor in a death like state), I took it upon myself to organize the kitchen. I took everything out of the pantry, sanitized the shelves, and put everything back in order.

A certain furry beast liked it as well:

Ehhh that’s sanitary, right?

Ryan was a little shocked at not only the organization but also my teapot on the stove, my espresso maker all set up and all my pots, pans and dishes put away. Hopefully he’s not regretting this whole “live together thing!”  haha 😉

And then we headed over to my parent’s house for an early dinner before the party. My mom made angel hair pasta with chicken, tomatoes and kalamata olives with whole grain rolls.

I had half a roll. It was yummy. I also had perrier to drink instead of wine since we were going to a cocktail party.

But I did finish my meal with these!

And THESE!

These lovely heels are actually my moms but they are (and I was in shock) Manolo Blahniks that she actually found at Nordstroms for 60% off!!!! Who ever knew? She let me wear them for the night if I promised to bring them right back in the morning without a single scuff mark. I washed my feet before putting them on. For the record, they killed my feet and I ended up having to walk back to the car after the party barefoot. My mom and I share the same shoe size and love for cute pumps!

At the party I drank one glass of red wine and one cosmo, which really wasn’t that good. We were there pretty late and since I had eaten dinner about five hours before, around 10:30 I hit up the tapas table.

I didn’t eat all this. I left the shrimp and the random chunk of red onion. I really just ate a bunch of olives and a stuffed mushroom. It was the perfect thing for a late-night snack!

And then this morning I ate my last breakfast here for awhile, a big bowl of oatmeal with soymilk, dried berries, a sprinkle of dried flax, a 90 calorie Barney Butter packet and a sprinkle of brown sugar.

I’ve got a TON to do before I head out to Vero Beach. The apartment looks like a hurricane went through so I need to clean and put away more things or Ryan will probably just dump everything at my parent’s house two miles away (just kidding, I hope!). I’ll check back after lunch!

love the shoes Jenna! and that pasta dish looks fab!!

haha I HATE moving…I’ve done it SO many times….but the organizing and setting up CAN be fun. as long as you have the time set aside to do it, and can be creative!! if your rushed and things end up everywhere and in a mess…it can get pretty chaotic and stressful!

    have a great day!
sorry bout the wax in Ryan’s eye. that sounds awful!

The photo of Dexter is so adorable – our cat Roxie also loves to hang out in the kitchen cabinets… so much so that she has figured out how to open them with her paws!

I’m curious as to how Ryan got candle wax in his eye! Sounds like it’d be hard to do!
So exciting that you guys are moving in together! My boyfriend of 6 years and I are moving in together next weekend. His apartment got destroyed by Ike, so we figured we’d just both move and get a bigger apartment for us to share. Financially it’s a much better idea, even if my parents aren’t super thrilled about it. I’m sure it’ll be an adventure for us, as well as for you and Ryan! 🙂

Wow, no need to apologize girl, you’ve definitely had your hands full! Haha, that’s funny that organizing everything and putting it away was the very first thing you did, that would totally be me too! I’m sure Ryan thinks it’s cute :). Except the fact that he had wax in his eye at this point, I hope it’s out and his poor eye is better, that sounds painful! Glad you two were able to enjoy last night with a family dinner and cocktail party. Good luck with your remaining to-do list for today!

Too funny about Dexter. Our cat does the same thing. I am OCD about disenfecting the counters only to have the cat jump on the counter. She only does it to get on top of the fridge and then onto the cabinets to sleep but still! SHEESH! It’s not like a dog where you can train it to not get on something. Cat’s own you. Not good.
