The Irish Eat Oats

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

When I woke up my house was a lovely 63 degrees so I’m currently hunched over my laptop wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and eating my oats out of my favorite green bowl. That counts, right?

If there was ever a day for a massive green monster it would have been today, and I thought about that but……..I’m going to attempt a 25-30 mile bike ride in about an hour and needed all the carbs I could get. 😉 This bowl contained the usual 1/2 cup oats, half cup milk, half cup water, banana, peanut butter and some bonne maman.
This is totally off subject but I’m writing it so I will actually do it. I NEED TO CLEAN MY HOUSE! It looks like a mad writer/cartographer was on the loose (okay, maybe I just wanted to use the word “cartographer”). I have papers spread out all over the place and maps all over the floor. I can’t believe I’ll be in Paris in three months!
Time to go clean. Click here to check out a video of the ridiculousness of the winery I work at. I think I was too busy inside dancing to michael jackson to be a part of it, sadly. However, my boss just informed me they are in the process of also making a dance party video that I am a part of. I’m scared.

Don’t you just love those Anthropologie bowls?? We got a set of orange ones as a housewarming gift. I’d buy more, but we don’t have any room to put them! They’re the perfect size for a cereal snack (as opposed to the bigger ones we have).

I must email you about this restaurant we stumbled upon last time we were in Paris. Run by a British chick with a perfect French accent and so cute!

Good luck with the bike ride!!

I’m super excited to read all about your upcoming Paris adventure. Man, I can already envision the incredible food photos that are to come.

I contemplated a green monster in the spirit of the holiday today too, but my gut said, “Screw it, I want almond butter stuffed french toast.” They say to go with your gut, so I did!

    Have a great ride!

I feel like this about my house all the time. I go in cleaning spurts and scrub from top to bottom. It’s never really dirty just disorganized.

The Irish do indeed eat oats! One of the best (and probably most decadent) bowls of oatmeal I’ve eaten was at Bewley’s on Grafton Street in Dublin, with loads of brown sugar, sultanas and I’m sure some kind of delicious cream. Happy riding/writing and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Have fun on your ride! Sunday, I did a local ride that has been intimidating to me for a long time. It was 32 miles total with an elevation gain of 1385 ft. It was a blast!

    Keep pedaling!
