Lunch

Things Forgotten

Hi guys!

Well, I am thoroughly enjoying my “mental health Saturday” by the pool. I’ve done all my favorite things so far….I’ve exercised first thing, went to the bookstore, went to the health food store to pick up my favorite wrap for lunch and then laid poolside for hours. Here are my essentials for the day:

I’m still working on the Wally Lamb book……….INTENSE!!!!!! But, I’m super excited to start the new Jodi Picoult book because she is one of my favorite authors of all time and I have read every single one of her books.

Surprisingly, that bowl of cereal held me over til’ lunch (must have been the hempmilk!), when I stopped at the health food store to pick up a wrap to take to the pool with me. I got my usual: hummus, quinoa tabbouli and kale salad on a sprouted wheat wrap. Later, I paired it with an apple to take outside with me

Well, the apple was rather mushy so I only ate about half of it and they actually FORGOT THE HUMMUS on my wrap! They key part!!!! But….they also forgot something else—-to charge me! When I was at the store I also picked up a coconut water to take to the pool and another Odwalla bar (the berry one on yalls recommendations!) and I didn’t even seem to notice that I didn’t get charged the extra $6.50 for the wrap until I was in my car and looking at my receipt. I know, I know……I really should have gone back into the store and told them they forgot to charge me but…..it was a free lunch! So the no hummus thing wasn’t that big of a deal, considering. Hopefully yall don’t think I am a terrible person now!

Unfortunately, because of the lack of hummus (healthy fats!), the wrap didn’t really hold me over very well. I should have picked something with some more protein…..after lunch I totally ate two squares of dark chocolate + a macaroon that somehow escaped the camera’s lenses. Oops! I will be making a snack soon though, never fear!

Ryan is still out in the Gulf spearfishing with his buddies and I’m about to walk the dog then continue on with my book. I’m not sure what time he will be home (if he says 4:00 I say 8:30) so I don’t know what the deal for dinner is yet.

Catch ya in a bit!

My health food store forgot to charge me for a package of Ezekiel muffins the other day… I stayed silent and peeled out of there like the lady in the Ikea commercial :-/

I read that Fitness magazine on the elliptical this week. The Runner’s World is waiting on my coffee table until I’m forced to cross-train again.
I’ve had a Zico in my fridge for forever. I got it free and I’m afraid to try it because I don’t like coconut. Is there a strong coconut flavor?

One time I went to the grocery store to shop and had a big box of kitty litter on the underside of my cart – I forgot to pay for it when I checked out (but I bought lots and lots of other stuff!) and when I got to the car….I still didn’t pay for it. I felt kinda bad, but it was a total accident, at the time I didn’t have much extra money, and I spent (and still spend!) so much money at this store that I didn’t feel too bad. Plus they forgot your hummus! So don’t feel bad about getting it for free 🙂

I admit – I wouldn’t have gone back in to pay for it! Consider it a really lucky Saturday! 🙂 Hehe!

    Jenna,
I really need to add more iron to my diet and am wondering what foods are rich in diet. I know red meat and spinach are, but I was wondering if that is not always available (or if I’m not in the mood), what other foods are rich in iron. Thanks!!!

I definitely don’t think you’re bad for not going back to pay; we’ve all done that! Haha, I guess the no hummus balanced it out or something. I wish I were poolside as well- it sounds lovely! Have a great afternoon and evening!

I’m so envious of your pool side afternoon!

I would’ve done the same thing about the wrap. It was their bad, and you get a free lunch out of their careless mistake!

Ahh so many things to comment on in this post!
First of all, no, you’re so not a terrible person for getting a free lunch! I always feel guilty with things like that so I feel ya, but sometimes…it’s just a little present 😉

Secondly, I ate a hummus & tabouli wrap last night for dinner and had leftovers today….SO good and tasty.

Finally, JODI PICOULT is the best author that has ever lived!! Okay, I may be exaggerating a tad, but she’s AMAZING and I’ve read all of her books. I was out at Target yesterday ($10 cheaper than the cover price!) purchasing one and I’m already 60 pages into it…I love her writing and her stories and plot lines are always so unique and intriguing. Happy reading, and Happy Saturday Jenna!!

I’m actually reading a book of hers now- Perfect Match- I can’t put it down!!! SO good!!! 🙂

OK, you’re really going to think I’m a huge blog stalker, but I had to write ONCE MORE to comment on your book of choice — I have been truckin’ my way through it, too, since my boyfriend gave it to me for Christmas…I kind of feel like I have to put it down every now and again because it is *so* intense.

I love deep and dark books — She’s Come Undone was my favorite for many many years, and American Psycho took that spot a few years ago — but something about this is kind of…mentally manipulative? Does that make sense? Wally Lamb needs to not be such an amazing writer; it’s messing with my emotions!!

On a lighter note, I’m going to try and make these this weekend…thought you might be interested in a recipe!
