Behind The Butter

this weekend you should…

Bake some chocolate chip cookies for your cute neighbor (or boyfriend, or husband, or kids, or grandpa or…yourself!). If nothing else, it will make your house smell amazing!

You should also make a fun pink cocktail and go dancing. Even if it’s just in your living room.

Maybe tomorrow night, make a fresh dinner with veggies from the farmer’s market…

And on Sunday, take a hour walk outside. If you’re not snowed in, that is. If you are snowed in, make these instead:

And don’t forget to read! Always read.

    Just made Banana-Choco-Chip Mookies (cross b/w a muffin and cookie) – but they are nothing compared to that first picture.

    So now I will go make those. And I forsee the brownie in ice cream…

    Yep, I’m snowed in. And like you (I think) my only form of cardio is typically a very short, leisure walk outside. And even thats impossible. Oh well, just gives me an extra 30 minutes to eat and sleep πŸ™‚

        One short walk for 365 days/year. Repeat. I am a very short walker. I guess you’re right, its something. Even if it is my only thing everyday for a long, long time.

    Crazy you should mention it. I just did make Chocolate Chip cookies. I’m really loving Malibu and Dt. Cherry 7-up (it’s pink) but there are NO open farmers markets in MN during the winter. This morning we started out at -28 and climbed to -1, so I think I will be making the smores brownies!

    I need to go shopping for most of the ingredients for those snowed in recipes, lol. What do you think of Hotel On the Corner Of….??? I was thinking of downloading it but I’m still making my way thru some real (as in, hand held) books so it’s on the backburner. You need to read Trudy’s Promise…I think you’d love it. It made me cry in a good way.

    This weekend you should see Sarah’s Key if you can find it near you. It was such an excellent adaptation of the book, and I remember that you liked the book. It just came to Australia (where I am), so it’s probably in wider release in California. Enjoy (if you do see it!).

    I am currently a college student trying to eat a little healthier but have a VERY VERY limited budget. I have struggled with disordered eating and finally have made a promise to myself to get my eating under control and get back to a healthy normal. Do you have any quick/cheap recipe ideas for lunch/dinner?

    I made your curried butternut lentil soup the other day….mmmmm nice. My hubby loved it.
    I love making cookies most of all…have been baking since I was 10.
    I love healthy eating.
    I love hiking at Mt. Rainer.
    I love pretty cocktails and dancing in my living room.
    I love staying in when it is yucky out.
