Breakfast/ Lunch

Unbelievable

Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!

Two important things:

1. THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING TO BUY MY E-COOKBOOK!!!!!

Because of your AMAZING support, I am almost 50% of the way there! I cannot even believe that I have raised about $1,500 just through e-cookbook sales. Its unbelievable actually. I hope those that purchased one love it! Keep ’em coming, folks! Just remember to email me at HelpJennaRun@gmail.com for your copy and not my normal blog email address! I am trying to keep everything very organized here 🙂

2. I am SO freakin’ sore from Jillian’s Shred yesterday!

Holy cow…I got out of bed this morning and almost fell over. Every muscle is sore and it has been a huge ordeal lifting heavy bread dough and equipment all day! The soreness and seeing Caitlin’s amazing review this morning really sealed the deal on the Shred for me. What a fantastic workout! I’m going to try to do it as much as possible!

All that being said, let’s get back to the food! This morning around 3:30 I had my new favorite bar and a pear on the way to work:

img_5865

I seriously LOVE these bars!!!! Chewy, dense, mostly raw and 8 grams of protein. Sooo delicious.

And then around 8:15 I had a big bowl of oat bran and fresh fruit from the associate breakfast!

img_5868

img_5869

Oat bran was super delish this morning! Here was the combo of the day:

  • 1/2 cup oat bran made with 1 cup water, pinch of sea salt
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 scoop protein
  • 1 tbsp ground flax
  • 1 big scoop Naturally More pb
  • chocolate chips ’cause its Friday!

After work I grocery shopped and drank my traditional Friday Kom-rob-your-bank-account-bucha:

img_5870

I went a little bit out of control at Greenwise today. I think I was hungry? Note to self: never go grocery shopping around lunchtime!

img_5871

  • Vitamuffins
  • Rolled oats
  • Oat bran (not pictured)
  • Ezekiel english muffins
  • Ezekiel bread
  • Soba noodles
  • Pepperidge farm fruit & grain bagels (yum!

img_5872

  • Hummus
  • Tempeh
  • Tofu
  • Morningstar farms soysage
  • Canned salmon
  • Laughing cow cheese
  • light sour cream
  • Chobani (plus one that escaped the photo!)
  • Mexican cheese! (I got 3 bags actually because they were on sale)

img_5873

  • My FAVORITE pad thai dinner!
  • ginger root
  • thai red curry paste
  • vanilla almond milk
  • enchilada sauce
  • split pea soup
  • canned green chilies

img_5874

  • Orange bell pepper
  • broccoli slaw
  • broccoli
  • organic greens
  • cilantro
  • bananas
  • garnet yams
  • grapes
  • mangos
  • on sale blackberries!
  • cucumber

Now, I did spend $100, which is definitely more than I usually spend on food….but look at how much stuff I got! I wrote a list and pretty much stuck to it, minus a few fun items. Organic produce always gets me! I know that eating healthy DOES cost you, but in my personal opinion, I would rather spend $100 on food I can feel good about putting into my body then go to mall and spend $100 on a new outfit. My priorities are just different I guess! This food will last me for awhile and I had to buy all the ingredients to make Ryan and I a nice dinner tonight.

When I put everything away I made a mad rush to make something to eat before I had to go see my accountant.

img_5875

The perfect mini-meal!!! This is a toasted pepperidge farm fruit & grains bagel with 2 egg whites, a light laughing cow cheese and a morningstar farms soysage. YUM!

I’m about to make another mini-meal right now actually and then head over to my doctor’s appointment to get the bone scan results back! Wish me luck, friends! As I said before, I am cooking dinner for myself and the boy tonight. Fridays are always a bit tough because right now I AM SO TIRED since I have been up since 3 AM and will be staying up past my “bedtime” (7:00) tonight, obviously. I just have to suck it up though and keep on trucking!!!

See you in a bit!

Jenna, I’d much rather spend 100 at the grocery store than on new clothes, too! In fact, I’d much rather walk around at a grocery store like Earth Fare (health food store up here) than go to a clothing or shoe store, any day!

Good luck with the bone scan results!

Food shopping is something I never mind spending money on. I would rather NOT buy a piece of clothing I like but spend it on food! It just makes sense to me

I couldn’t agree more about the grocery budgeting. I never feel guilty about spending a lot of money on fresh fruits and veggies. They never go to waste and I’m convinced I save money on doctor bills, medicine and processed foods. One thing I hate spending money on foodwise, though is eating out!

Hope you are able to power through and have a fun night!

I get so jealous reading your blog and seeing the the great variety of food you can yet! 😉 I picked up some tempeh this week after seeing you use it so often and am looking forward to trying it.

I was lucky enough to try the bread (not bagel) version of the fruit P-Farm bread in the states before we left. GREAT STUFF!

Fingers crossed for your dr’s appt.

I’m the same way about groceries, I spend about 70 a week on groceries for just myself, but I never buy any meals out and I see it as an investment in myself! Have fun tonight, I’m guessing Enchiladas might be on the menu?

I’m glad your e-cookbook is selling so well. Good luck on your bone scan, today. I agree that buying healthy food is much more important than material goods like clothes, jewelry, etc. I really don’t think $100 is THAT much money, I’ve definitely spent way more when stocking the fridge and cupboards.

Yum that egg sandwich looks so good!!!

Quick question! So the grocery store near my school doesn’t have sweet potatoes, but I am pretty sure they have garnet yams….do garnet yams cook in the microwave the same way sweet potatoes do, and can you eat the same way (with cottage cheese or laughing cow, cinnamon….)?? Thanks!! Have fun tonight! 🙂

Don’t feel bad, the day after my first day of Shredding I felt like I needed a body cast. Try shredding and then chasing preschoolers around the next day. Lets just say I couldn’t catch them…:)

OMG that watermelon looks incredible!!! I can’t wait until I can get my hands on some this summer!! I recently heard, the bigger the yellow spot on the bottom of the watermelon, the sweeter it’ll be. The size of the spot indicates how long it’s been ripening in the sun – yummm!
