Happy Humpday!
Mannnnn if you are wondering why my breakfast post is late its because I slept late! That’s right…..Miss Early Bird didn’t rise until 9:15 this morning!!!!!!! How crazy is THAT?! I have been sleeping with this sleep mask on that blocks out all light and I think that might be the culprit. I’m glad though because I wanted to sleep as late as possible today since orientation is going to go until 11:30 tonight and then tomorrow I have my surgery at 8 am.
When I finally greeted the world, I made eggies for breakfast. 2 scrambled eggs with a walnut roll spread with preserves and an orange—

Isn’t my plate cute?? I got it for $1.99 at this adorable boutique called Target yesterday. Love that place.
Coffee—-

It looks like I should be on vacation but sadly I am not. Oh well. Vacation state of mind I guess.
Plan for the day is to go to a yoga class from 12-1:30, eat lunch, shower and then orientation again at 4:00. Not terribly exciting but at least I’m getting paid to be there!
I’ll be back after lunch—have a lovely day!

Hey Jenna! Just wanted to let you know that I bought all three of Diana Gabaldon’s Lord John books after Christmas. The first started off a little slow but overall was good. I’m halfway through the second and really enjoying it. Also, there is an excerpt in each from the next book in the Outlander series which totally makes it worth it.
sleeping in–what a treat!!!
your plans sound perfect; i’m afraid mine are slightly on the boring side as well…
I love that adorable boutique as well! cute plate and mug:) have fun at orientation
Cute plate!
Best of luck at orientation!!!!!!!!!
Just out of curiosity — how did you get into yoga in the first place? I went to a free class at college (as part of a post-Sept. 11 student outreach program) and can’t get enough since then.
have a great day!
Fitforfree,
Hmm….well when I was in high school back in 2000, I started doing a yoga dvd a couple times a week but it was nothing serious and when I went away to college I didn’t start back up at all. Then, in 2004 I was have a hard time and suffered from depression so badly that I came home from school and spent a semester living at home and working full time. It was then when I started going to a yoga studio to find some sort of release from the anxiety and depression that I was feeling and I became hooked. After starting to practice regularly, my depression became non-existent and I was feeling better than I ever had in my life. I transferred colleges to College of Charleston and got really involved in my local yoga studio there and started attending classes 5-6 times a week. And that’s how its been since then!
I hope the light blocking mask and curtains work for ya! That’s a good idea. Good luck with surgery I’ll pray for you!!
Good luck today
I know you’ll be amazing. Love the plate…I bought some smaller ones from that collection at Target! Shopping heaven.
I just got back from yoga, it was amazing! do you know why yoga classes are so long?
Seelivelee,
It’s just tradition that yoga classes usually are 90 minutes in length. I guess it takes that much time for the body to truly generate warmth and get into some of the postures.
Getting paid for training is always nice. I’m looking forward to your new job.
Too funny… I got the same plate and another at the same “boutique” yesterday! I couldn’t pass them up. Cute and cheap! =)
I bought that exact same plate at target yesterday too! They have the best stuff…Their valentines stuff is just toooo cute!
I guess a lot of us think alike because I got that same plate in green!
Good luck with orientation!!!
Just wanted to say thanks for getting the yoga bug started in me too! I’ve done a little of it before, but now I’ve tried a couple different videos and a yoga download and am really starting to like it!
Hi Jenna,
Let me just say that I love your blog! I had a few questions about yoga: I have been dying to start practicing yoga lately and am not sure which yoga I should get into..or how to go about it. The only yoga I have done is yoga from a “Yoga for Beginners” DVD I bought last summer. I feel I have mastered this DVD and am ready for something different. Id like to find a yoga that helps with balance and toning..any suggestions? should I join a class right off the bat, or practice poses and then join? Thanks for the input! Keep up the good work!
Stacey
I love the plate! And what’s on it!
Enjoy the rest of your vacation!
hey jenna! can you post some of your original bread recipes? i’m always looking for new ones. also–i’d love breadbaking tips if you are interested in creating a spot on your blog like that.
cute dishes – ah target, how i love thee…good luck with surgery
LOVE the plate! I really need to get myself a few fun plates, my white dinnerware is so very boring!
The walnut rolls look awesome. You make yoga sound so great, I may have to give it a try soon.
Love your plate! Target rocks!
Hey Jenna, I was just wondering if you calculated the nutritional content for your rolls as I was thinking of making similar ones, thanks!
angelcubbie,
Nope—I have no idea how many calories are in them. Sorry!
Jenna did i miss something? Your having surgery tomorrow?? Are you OK??
And you made me laugh with the boutique called Target!!! Very clever girlie!!!
Hey Jenna, I just wanted to say that after your post about getting a Vitamix, I asked for one for Christmas from my boyfriend (he got me a TV that we returned)! I am so excited to use it and get ideas from you.
Also, I love that you are getting back into yoga regularly because I too have let my practice lapse. I hope to start doing it regularly again and seeing you do it makes me want to do it even more!
Great plate…I almost bought it myself. But I believe the boutique is called Tar-jay.
Can’t wait to see more of those lovely rolls!
Have a great day!
Jenna,
Thanks for sharing a little regarding suffering from depression and anxiety and how yoga was able to help. I am recovering from an eating disorder and would really love to completely turn to yoga to help me heal, but I can’t get away from the idea that I need to do cardio (I am out of college and working so it would be hard to fit both in regularly). Would you mind sharing, maybe in a post, a little more detail about what you went through and how you continue to cope?
Thanks,
Amanda
Love that plate! I see a Target trip in my future!
I have some Christmas presents to return to target and part of what I want to buy is some new plates and bowls. I hope I find stuff just as cute as your new plate. It’s so summery I love it. I know I can’t wait until it’s warm again here. So jealous of your florida heat!
Sounds like a great day! love the plate as well!
CUTE plate! I love it
Tar-jhay has the best stuff!
Hi Jenna-
Just wanted to say thanks again for all of the yoga inspiration (looks like I am not the only one!) Lately I have been doing yoga in my living room, but your blog has inspired me to try a class – I haven’t been to one since college. For any of your Boston readers, there is $5 community class at BackBay yoga that I am trying tonight! Thanks again Jenna!
Oh that plate is so cute! I’m going to Target today after yoga and I’m definitely going to have to check on those plates!! I normally hate shopping, but for some reason its always fun at Target!!!
Yum! the rolls look awesome! I’m a new bloggie
I actually e-mailed you one time about yoga, and you introduced me to yoga downloads! Thanks, i absolutely love it! I finally decided it was time to start a blog of my own, and your healthy approach on life inspired me to work on my own
Target rocks!
i saw those cute plates and such at my target the other day but i hate not being able to microwave plates like that (only dishwasher safe) so I passed them on. but omg they are so cute!
