Vacation Withdrawal

Hi!

I am DRAINED today and having serious mountain withdrawal! You know what its like right after a vacation when you get home and have no groceries whatsoever, a dirty house, loads of laundry to do and a book deadline in one month? Yeah, March might be a wee stressful…I can already feel it now. Luckily, it didn’t take us ten hours to get home last night….I think it was about 4 1/2? I fell asleep during the final hour of the drive and feel like I need about 12 hours of sleep to totally catch myself up from last weekend’s shenanigans.

This morning I ate the only thing in my house, my last two Kashi waffles with my last bit of almond butter and jam:

And then I rushed to the yoga studio to work the desk for awhile before hitting up Trader Joe’s for a MASSIVE grocery shop. I grabbed a salad on route…this had goat cheese, bell peppers and walnuts in it—

And was promptly destroyed in .5 minutes.

I have about 500 things I should do today….need to shower and prioritize. I wish I had time for a NAP!

I really hate those few days after a vacation…it is a letdown and the grocery/food issues is a total bummer! Nothing a huge TJ’s grocery shop can’t fix though.

I feel like my to do list piles up while I’m on vacation. That first day home is a major shocker–not only am I not in ____ (insert really awesome place), but I have a million chores to do. Now. Ah, to have a maid who would prep my home for my return…

So…I just noticed the hair…had to go ALLLL the way back to find the original posts (boy, I was behind.) So why the interest in going brunette?

I totally get the washed out/ okay warm vs. cool thing. I did a warm “golden blonde” in college that was a mistake. And when I went to a salon to get my hair fixed at one point, it ended up red…not so good. Cool for me too.

And my spouse loves the brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts too. Me, I’m a strawberry girl.

That waffle sandwich looks so so good. And why oh why does TJ’s continue to taunt me?! I lived in LA for awhile and it was my favorite store ever, but am now in Vancouver and alas- Canada doesn’t have it! Boooo!
PS I enjoyed reading that you watched the men’s hockey game! Fun to see the other side of the spectrum (you guys wearing American flags, etc). You should’ve seen how crazy it was in Vancouver! I swear, everyone in the city was wearing red and white 🙂 Great game though!
