Morning!
Happy Sunday to you!
We have a full day planned over here to celebrate the holiday weekend—-I’m going to church with parents at 9:00 and then meeting Ryan and friends and we are going out on the boat all day long. The original plan was to go diving (we are all SCUBA certified), but Ryan hurt his shoulder two days ago and so now I think there’s just going to be fishing and sunbathing all day.
I woke up early and was craving something yummy and different for breakfast! Enter homemade waffles.
When I moved in with Ryan my mom gave me her coveted waffle maker (okay so I pleaded for it). This waffle maker has been creating the best waffles possible in the Weber household for years and years. My brother LOVED homemade waffles! Its sort of beat up and old but its still a pretty heavy duty machine. Much nicer than what I had been using, that’s for sure!
For my delightful creation this morning I used 1/2 cup of Kodiak Pancake/Waffle mix, 1 banana, 1/3 cup 2% Fage, sprinkle of toasted sliced almonds, drizzle of pure maple syrup. Divine.
Its magic!
Currently drinking: English Breakfast tea
I’m headed to shower and get ready for church and sun. I hope everyone has a marvelous day!
Be sure to check out Zesty’s blog makeover giveaway! Too good to be true!

May 24, 2009 at 6:07 amYum, I love homemade waffles – too bad I don’t have a waffle maker! Although appliances are over-taking my tiny apartment, I might have to add one to my wish list. Enjoy the weekend!

May 24, 2009 at 7:15 pmYour day on the boat sounds great. I like your old waffle maker, we have had our waffle maker forever. It looks disgusting, but makes delicious waffles. It is at my parent’s house and I doubt I will ever be able to talk my mom into giving it to me.

May 25, 2009 at 6:11 amJust read your guest post over at KERF–great piece! I can relate to a lot of the ideas living in England…walking a lot has really helped me keep my weight down! I think you’ve struck a great balance between the French and American way of eating. Obviously something is working for you beause you glow 🙂
