My brother is planning his wedding now and I want to choose all the options for the buffet! I wanted to apologize to those who I seemingly offended and have therefore changed the language of the post. In no way was I saying I wasn't grateful for the meal or that the bride was senseless and I'm sorry if it came off that way. Since food has really defined my entire life, I suppose I am extra sensitive to matters such as this and this was only my opinion. I still respect the bride and groom's decision and understand that it was THEIR day and they can choose whatever they darn well like to be served at dinner. I was only alluding to the fact that I was <strong>surprised</strong> because I knew of a few vegetarians present. I was going to stay quiet and let everyone battle this one out its killing me! There are so many reasons one might avoid meat: health, Kosher, vegetarian/vegan, etc. I've never even heard of there not being a vegetarian option available. Just ignore the meanies :) Really. Righteousness never got anyone anywhere. She's quite right in that a great many people don't eat red meat these days (and even the ones that do usually like their meat prepared a different way from their neighbour). Even if it's expensive to have a second option, it's *not* that much more expensive to make sure that the salad dressing is suitable for the vegetarians present and to have extra bread and maybe roasted vegetable platters or something.
