Behind The Butter

Working Girls

Hey guys!

Day one at Frostings went really well!

IMG_3036

We actually had a ton of fun! I busied myself decorating white chocolate raspberry cupcakes while Christie, errr, ate samples….

IMG_3030IMG_3031

Hahahaha just kidding 😉

Despite tasting numerous flavors of frosting (oreo was my favorite!), I snacked on a Pure Bar—-

IMG_3029

And after work, Christie and I came home for cocktail hour and pizza take two

IMG_3039

This time I topped my pizza half with mozzarella, feta, green peppers, red peppers and kalamata olives. It was delicious…again!

IMG_3040

After dinner we got ice cream and went to see Post Grad, aka the story of my life. The movie was SO CUTE!!! Seriously, it was the best movie I’ve seen in awhile and I’m not kidding when I say it was the story of my life. Sigh. Christie and I laughed so hard I almost cried. Another lovely date night!

Chocolate almond ice cream! Major yum.

I really really want to run tomorrow morning…..but I’m debating because of my massive blister. I don’t want to make it worse and then not be able to run all week but I might do the moleskin/electrical tape (hahaha) that Angela recommended. Christie and I are going to work at 9 tomorrow morning for a few hours of cupcake baking fun. More craziness ahead!

See you in the morning!

Only after reading it in plain print do I realize how utterly MAD I sound! lol. But I swear the moleskin and eletrical tape works. 😀 Put the moleskin where you get blisters, then cover it with a piece of electrical tape (the black stuff) going the opposite direction.

    Goodluck!

Ah, Jenna! We have similar troubles! Angela’s recommendation is a good one. As you know, I also got orthotic inserts for my shoes. My shin splints are now a thing of the past, but the inserts have changed the way my sneakers fit, so now I get terrible blisters. I use Dr. Scholl’s blister pads and wrap cloth first aid tape around the width of my foot 3 – 4 times, to hold the blister pad in place. I tried several other tactics, and this is the only one that worked.

So you’re having some bakery fun? Jenna, you HAVE to check out the Harry Potter birthday cake I posted on my blog. I know you’ll appreciate it!

Hope you’re doing well! I missed your blog while I was on vacation!

I wondered about that movie… I’m pretty much obsessed (and will be forever) with Gilmore Girls and was kind of hoping that Post Grad would be like, ‘Gilmore Girls: The After Years’ or something. (I can’t believe I just admitted my obsession with Gilmore Girls…) I’ve missed my Rory!

Sorry to hear about your blister! I’ve been dealing with a nasty one all summer; I even took a week off of marathon training to let it heal. It still hasn’t; I think I’m just not giving it enough of a break. I’ve tried BandAid blister cushion with some success, but I can’t get it to stay in place when I run. If you do try the electrical tape thing, I’d love to know how it works for you!

I just watched Post Grad over the weekend! It was offered for a low price in my cable package under “At The Movies In Your Living Room.” I was surprised I liked it as much as I did. I totally know where you’re coming from when you say that it’s the story of your life. The few years after college are a tough transition and at times you feel very lost and alone. I just want you to know that a lot of people feel that way, it’s a completely normal feeling, and you’re not alone. You have a great head on your shoulders, a great attitude, and life experience that most your age don’t have. You’ll get through this Jenna, just remember that all situations are temporary.
The cupcake baking looks like it was a blast!

Aww poor thing! I have a horrible blister on my pinkie toe right now – not from running, but from attending a fabulous FoodBuzz dining experience last night haha so I cant complain, but I have an 8 miler tonight and I’m hoping bandaids will do the trick!

    Hope yours feels better soon!

    Hi Jenna –

Read your blog every day, love it! I don’t ever comment but I feel with your blister situation I can help as a former college athlete that played through many many blisters. Go to the drugstore and buy foam pads in the first aid/medical supplies area, cut them in the shape of a donut so that the hole will surround the blister, then squirt some neosporin in the middle of the donut as a bufffer. Then wrap it up with sport tape and basically the area of the blister will be protected from contact. It’ll feel weird at first but after a while you will get used to it. Definitely don’t put moleskin directly on the blister – if you try to peel it off you’ll be left w/ a big raw cut.

    Good luck!

    Good luck!
