Dinner

your dinner tonight

Whew!

What a week.

It started with the stomach flu and ended with tearful goodbyes at SFO yesterday as my parents headed back to the homeland. I’ll miss them. And the miraculous food they bring! I’m still feeling pretty weak from the flu and have to do a mega grocery shop this afternoon, so instead of a recipe today I leave you with our farewell dinner Saturday night! Oh man, was it good.

The four of us (mom, dad, Adam and I) headed to the Farmer’s Market Saturday morning to collect all the ingredients for Adam’s famous cedar plank salmon and man, it never fails to impress. After my dad finally taught me how to turn the gas on, I’m a grilling maniac and can’t get enough of this melt-in-your-mouth fish.

On the side, we had roasted new potatoes with Parmesan and cayenne pepper (also from the market) and the saddest corn you’ve ever seen.

Seriously…make it tonight!! You won’t be sorry. Here’s a link to the recipe again for ya.

Enjoy your Monday!

You can never go wrong with salmon or roasted potatoes. We generally add garlic and garden rosemary to our roasted potatoes. Always so good!

I had salmon last night too – but most definitely not cedar-plank 🙂

I guess your not one of those people that prepare blog-posts in advance of being out and about! Hope your parents had a great (although quick) trip and your appetite from the flu resumes.

That salmon looks awesome! Do you do anything special once the plank is on the grill? I tried this once and although we soaked the plank for awhile in advance it caught on fire. Could have just been a one time thing too so I should probably try again 🙂

There is just something about salmon that it’s a great meal to serve with guests of all kinds. Even though I am not currently eating salmon, when my parents come to town that is one meal that I can make really well, don’t have to babysit it, and they are impressed.

And Adam’s recipe ALWAYS looks so good!

Glad you are feeling better! That salmon looks soooo good. Too bad about the corn – here in Ohio I never have to say the fresh-picked corn is sad looking. 🙂
