Behind The Butter

I stole this idea from a few friends {Hayley, Moriah and Raechel — I’m talking to you!} and just loved it. I love to feel like I get to know the girl behind the computer screen and find myself craving these fun, intimate blog posts.

I’m Currently…

Watching… The Bible special on The History Channel! Have you guys seen it yet?! Oh my gosh, it’s amazing! Last Sunday night I told myself I would watch thirty minutes then save the rest for later but I ended up glued to the TV screen until almost midnight. I can’t wait for this Sunday!

Eating… a big bowl of granola with almond milk and blackberries. I’m out of my usual blueberry toaster waffles {tear}.

Planning… to share some incredibly exciting news next week! HINT: it involves cute things you can wear. You guessed it — ELR t-shirts!!!!!! KIDDING. I would never do that to y’all.

Reading… this book by Jen Hatmaker. Y’all? It’s doing a big number on my heart. And my closet. The clothes chapter drove me to donate about half my closet to the homeless shelter I volunteer at. The book reads like girlfriend to girlfriend straight talk. Just read it!

Inspired by…my parent’s marriage. They celebrated their 31 year anniversary last week!

Excited about…my bridal shower in two weeks! My sweet {and very pregnant!} friend, Ashley, is hosting it and I have to say, the thought that my bridal shower is next weekend seems so surreal! The two months are going to be craaaaaazy.

Your inspiration makes me smile! I am about to make reservations for my parents to spend the weekend in Charleston next weekend for their 38th anniversary. My fiance and I are getting married in October, and the dedication, love and devotion my parents have put into their marriage for the last thirty-eight years is my greatest source of inspiration and hope for my own marriage. Happy Weekend!

I am loving The Bible on the History Channel! It was so good. I think I love the fact that they even had a commercial with the Bible app on it so more people can read The Word!

Excited to read the book you mentioned! I picked it up last week at church but haven’t started yet. She is coming to our church in Knoxville next month to speak and lead a community reading experience.

I’ve been excited to read that book too… haven’t seen it at the library yet, and I try to wait rather than buy every book I am interested in. Thanks for posting books like this and non-profits that support women (like the Noonday Collection and fashionABLE). I’m always grateful to learn about these organizations.

Stayed up WAY late the other night watching The Bible on the History Channel….really good. Can’t wait for tomorrow!! I started the “Bible in One Year” app on my iPad on January 1st this year and am amazed at how much I have learned so far:) It was great to actually see what I have learned in mini-series form. I always love your book suggestions…just ordered this one:) I love Amazon:)

I just finished reading 7 too. We went to visit their church as well (we live in austin) but ultimately decided to stick with ours of several years. I was super impresed with the heart behind their chuch.

I know it is technically a “young adult” book but I just finished reading The Fault in our Stars and it was such a touching and poignant story. I highly recommend it.

LOVED that book !! It was recommended to me by my sister and a friend, so I gave it a shot, though skeptical of it’s “YA” status. It is an excellent read that made me want to be a better person.

I finished “Seven” was so convinced the excess in my life didn’t go with my heart that giving things away has been so freeing!
I always buy fresh flowers…is that excessive?
