Recipe Round-Up

my five favorite super bowl party snacks

Hey guys!

I wanted to write a quick post to share my top five party snacks, just in case you’re still empty handed tomorrow. You can’t go wrong with bringing any of these dishes to any party (hint hint you’re more than welcome to show up at my door with buffalo chicken dip) and none of them take a crazy long time to make. Except maybe the macaroni and cheese…but you can make that today! And it’s worth it….really!

1. The Only Guacamole Recipe You’ll Ever Need…..seriously. There are way fancier versions out there but I like to keep it real with the good stuff.

2. Buffalo Chicken Dip. It’s my friend Courtney’s recipe and has served me well through several sporting events thus far. Any extras are highly encouraged to be spooned into macaroni and cheese for buffalo mac. Don’t knock it till you try it!

3. and on that note, baked four cheese macaroni! This is the cheesiest of the cheesy and goes great with the above mention dip as well as margaritas. I personally adore the blue cheese crumbles mixed in, but if stanky cheese ain’t your thang, just leave it out. It’s 6:30 in the morning and now all I can think about is macaroni and cheeeeeese.

4. Cheddar Jalapeno Hummus is a wee bit healthier dip than the buffalo chicken and (almost) as delicious. Actually, my favorite thing to do with this hummus is make cheddar jalapeno hummus and guacamole sandwiches. YES.

5.Green Chili Cheddar Cheese Cornbread is a classic in this house and I think you’re gonna love it! Oh and guess what? It goes with anything. That’s right, anything. You will always be a winner if you show up at someone’s door with homemade cornbread–I don’t care who it is or what the situation may be.

I can’t wear wool. It’s not only scratchy, but it gives me an itchy heat rash. Unfortunately my favorite sweater is made of wool, so i have to compromise for aesthetic purposes 😉

The snacks and dips are perfect and thanks for the reminder about the mac ‘n cheese. Not just for parties, but for anytime. It’s always good to have a stellar mac ‘n cheese recipe in your back pocket to impress the family and friends with 🙂

I agree with you on guacamole… I like to just add simple stuff in mine like limes or lemons and salt and pepper. Avocado should be loved the way it is. Cornbread with honey, cheddar cheese, and chiles… Delight!

I love that you keep it real with yummy tasty fun home cooking that people actually want to eat at a superbowl party…aka not changing things around so that it only appeals to the super health conscience (which I know is important too) – but ..cmon..superbowl – you need the mac n cheese and cheesy dip options along with the healthy stuff! 😛 😀

SOOOOOO..i made the buffalo chicken dip (ya know…for the guys) and ate almost the whole flippin thing myself!!! my boyfriend and i were knocking elbows and trying to kick each other off the couch trying to get at the stuff!! between the 2 of us (a few others may have had a bite) we almost finished the entire thing!!! DELISH! and totally healthy since all we had on hand was fat free cream cheese and lite ranch dressing. so basically it was a healthy dip….HA!
