It’s still not too late!!!!!
….for another peach cobbler recipe, that is. I’ve still got one pinky toe in summer since temperatures are in the 90’s all week here, and there’s still peaches to be found at my favorite road-side fruit stand.
This peach cobbler recipe is different from the rest because it has an almost sugar cookie-like crust that tastes unlike any cobbler recipe I’ve ever encountered. And as much as I love my own recipe, after making this once I have to say it’s my new favorite. There’s just something so quaint and old fashioned to it….like, it makes me want to pour a cup of tea and snuggle in with an epic world war two novel and Dexter by my side.
…or something like that. You catch my drift.
I made this a few weeks ago to take to a friend’s house for dinner and I have to say, I was “that guest”. I totally took the leftovers home with me just so I could have a bowl of this for breakfast the next morning! Who does that????!?!?
Get yourself on over to The Tasty Kitchen Blog to grab the recipe. You won’t regret it!

September 19, 2011 at 4:34 amI have a potluck coming up this week – a cobbler sounds like just the thing to make! Very seasonal too. Do you think it can be made with a mix of peaches, plums, and apples?

September 19, 2011 at 4:44 amHahah it’s perfectly acceptable to take a doggy-bag at home, even if it contains the remnants of what you walked in with ;)!

September 19, 2011 at 4:46 amJenna it looks sooo good. I love cobblers and crisps and I vividly remember your other cobbler recipe (I will never forget seeing biscuits on cobbler…not something Ive ever done!) so for you to say this is your new fave, that’s big!!! 🙂

September 19, 2011 at 4:56 amThis looks and sounds like something that I’d just want to eat the crust! I’d consider moving on to the peaches if the crust was gone and I was desperate. And then I’d make more crust…

September 19, 2011 at 5:08 amOoh yum! I love cobbler and apple cobbler is one of my favourite fall-y desserts. Like you said though, it’s not too late for more peaches! Heading over to check it out now!

September 19, 2011 at 5:10 amNothing wrong with being “that guest” once in a while! Although if I were the host, I’d probably sneak into the kitchen and snag a piece for my own breakfast before handing you the leftovers…

September 19, 2011 at 5:18 amI’ve always wondered what exactly a cobbler was. A guess kind of like a pie? Peaches look great.

2. I’m jealous of your weather… I think I need to move to a state where there’s not a ‘true’ winter (like not Ohio!)

September 19, 2011 at 11:32 amIf I made something delicious to give to a friend I would probably take the leftovers home with me too. It’s hard to give it all to other people when you want more. Thanks for the cobbler recipe I’ll definately have to try out your cookie like crust!

September 19, 2011 at 11:48 amExcellent timing on this. I mistakenly ordered 3lbs of peaches in my produce delivery this week instead of peaches. I made this cobbler for lunch dessert – OMG. Love the topping, and my mediocre peaches became sweet & juicy.

September 19, 2011 at 7:55 pmWait…you’re not supposed to be the guest who takes their dessert home so you can finish it for breakfast? Oops……….
I have a recipe for a blackberry cobbler that is similarly different (wrap your brain cells around that one) in that it has an almost pie-like crust. Thinking about it now, I bet it would be equally delicious with peaches, though…
