a special cookie guest

Hello! This is Maria, from Two Peas and Their Pod, and I am thrilled to be guest posting for Jenna this week. When she told me she was dedicating a week to cookies I squealed with excitement. If you don’t follow our blog, let me fill you in on a little secret, I am obsessed with cookies. We have over 120 cookie recipes on our site. I love everything about cookies-creating the recipes, baking them, sharing them, and of course eating them. Cookies just make the world a better place, especially durning the holiday season.

Today I am sharing my top 5 Christmas cookies. Picking my favorite cookies was not an easy task. I think I even lost sleep over it. I love all of my cookie creations, but these five are at the top of my holiday list. A few of them are new recipes and a few are oldie, but goodies.
First up, Chocolate Chip Peppermint Crunch Cookies. I created this cookie this year and I am in love. It is for sure making the holiday baking list every year. Chocolate chip cookies are always a hit and these cookies are dressed up for the holidays with a peppermint crunch. There are a few Peppermint Crunch Junior Mints tucked inside and crushed candy canes are sprinkled on top. This cookie is festive all around. I like to make the cookies giant size by using my muffin top pan. If you don’t have a muffin top pan, you can just make them regular size. They are tasty either way.
Next, Pomegranate White Chocolate Chunk Cookies. I love pomegranates and cookies, so why not combine the two? The pomegranate arils burst in your mouth and add a nice pop of color against the white chocolate chunks. These cookies are unique and always a show stopper!
Soft Gingersnap Cookies with White Chocolate Chunks are a must make every year. Gingersnaps are a classic Christmas cookie. You can’t have Christmas without them. I jazzed the recipe up a bit by adding white chocolate chunks. The cookies are soft, spicy, and dotted with white chocolate chunks. Mmmm!
Are you ready for the next cookie? This one is a winner! I recently created Red Velvet Cheesecake Cookies. Yes, you heard me:) These cookies are amazing! Red velvet cookies with a cheesecake filling. Wait, there’s more-the cookies also have a drizzle of white chocolate. These cookies are gorgeous, almost too pretty to eat. I said almost:) Everyone will be begging for this recipe.
Last, but not least-Chocolate Caramel Cookies with Sea Salt. These rich and decadent chocolate cookies have a nice surprise inside-a sweet caramel filling. I love sweet and salty together so I sprinkled the cookies with a smidge of sea salt. These cookies are heavenly! Grab a glass of milk and enjoy!
If you are still trying to decide what cookies to bake this year, give a few of these recipes a try. And if you think you are finished baking, think again:) There are always more cookies to be baked! Happy Holidays everyone and happy cookie baking!

There have been a lot of peppermint flavored brownies and cookies around the office lately and each time I finish one I state that it feels like I just brushed my teeth, but really am getting cavities. A girl can dream!

Oh wow, I wouldn’t even know where to start with these they all look so good! I made some candy cane-filled sugar cookies this year with Hersheys candy cane kisses in them, and the candy cane mintiness wasn’t as strong as I would have liked but I bet your first recipe is probably what I’m looking for!

And now I would like cookies for breakfast. Please and thank you.

Also, love that two of the recipes have white chocolate– by FAR the best kind (and yes, I know it’s not technically chocolate, or whatever!).
