baking in heels

by jenna on June 1, 2011

My birthday is next weekend and I decided that these shoes are the only way to proper ring in my 26th year.

I have no idea what I will wear them with (or better yet, where I will wear them other than my kitchen and Whole Foods), but they are a shoe fit for a 26 year old…and that soon will be me.

A huge thank you to Susan for kindly emailing me this morning and telling me they went on clearance! Now these beauties, originally $228, can be yours for only $83.

Or $120 if you’re like me and ordered them to come on next day air.

Because I clearly need these shoes by tomorrow night or I will simply die.

Yes, these shoes are amazing. They are the Le Cruset of footwear. I have a similar pair of Guess black lace heels I bought for my birthday this year… I think they helped with my hangover the next morning :)

Erin June 1, 2011 at 1:25 pm

Pretty! I love a good pair of shoes for a special occasion such as a birthday. My shoe collection is massive as a result, so for my 26th birthday which just pasted I bought a new dress instead O:-)

Liv @ The Salty n' Sweet June 1, 2011 at 1:29 pm

Oh wow they’re gorgeous! They’d be so hot with a little black dress, maybe with an apron on top??

Holly @ The Runny Egg June 1, 2011 at 1:30 pm

I’m not a big shoe person but I want those. The pink sequins are calling to me.

Kelly @foodiefresh June 1, 2011 at 1:30 pm

You deserve them! It’s your birthday! :)

Hannah (Hannah Lives) June 1, 2011 at 1:30 pm

Gorg! Those are too cute, heels with sparkles. How can they not be?

Ericka Andersen June 1, 2011 at 1:33 pm

I saw you post about these a few weeks ago and also fell in love with them! Cannot wait to see what you pair them with so don’t forget to post some pix of that outfit!

Kamaile June 1, 2011 at 1:34 pm

Shannon June 1, 2011 at 1:38 pm

These are fab! I always pick my shoes for a special occasion (or just to walk around my house…), and then match my outfit to them. I prefer to make a statement with my feet.

Gina @ Running to the Kitchen June 1, 2011 at 1:41 pm

so glad you bought these. didn’t you post about them recently? I love them!

Daniella @ Runner at Heart June 1, 2011 at 1:44 pm

Emily @ Perfection Isn't Happy June 1, 2011 at 1:56 pm

Very pretty! I love anything that sparkles! I’m not sure I would last very long in that heel though, haha.

Gina (Yogattude) June 1, 2011 at 1:59 pm

Gorgeous shoes! I can’t bring myself to buy anything full price anymore…it will always go on sale, with an extra promotion or two:)

Bridgette June 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm

Shari @ Chicago Cuisine Critique June 1, 2011 at 2:02 pm

I am in love with these:

But pink sequins are pretty awesome!

Shannon @ Blonde Silver Lining June 1, 2011 at 2:10 pm

New shoes is always a terrific way to celebrate a big day, holiday, good day, bad day… pretty much anything. I bought a pair of gold sparkly heels for the holidays last year and still break them out for those moments I just feel an extra bit of glitz is necessary. Have a Happy Birthday!

Anne June 1, 2011 at 2:16 pm

those. are. GORGEOUS.

Chloe (South Beach Girl) June 1, 2011 at 2:22 pm

Those are awesome & I’m sure you’ll find other events to wear them to – like a New Years party! Don’t you just love it when shoes are on sale? It’s like winning the closet lottery 😉

Katie @ peacebeme June 1, 2011 at 2:25 pm

LOVE those shoes! My 26th birthday is in two weeks! :)

Gorgeous pastel pink color!

Maddie June 1, 2011 at 2:36 pm

I really hope you are serious when you say you’re going to wear them to Whole Foods. And your kitchen, but that was a given. Super inspiring. To me, at least. Yay 26. Thanks for braving the way for us.

Danielle @ InDeesKitchen June 1, 2011 at 2:39 pm

Averie (LoveVeggiesandYoga) June 1, 2011 at 2:53 pm

I’d wear them to the grocery store. You’d fit right in in parts of San Diego or the O.C.

Just c’mon down to SoCal for a visit :)

I love heels.
And sequins.

Mallory (@forkvsspoon) June 1, 2011 at 3:06 pm

AndreaSomething June 1, 2011 at 4:44 pm

I too have been following these – waiting for them to be marked down! Every respectable gal needs a pair of sparkly, peachy shoes to bake in. Duh!

Wine Girl (Kitchen Doesn't Travel) June 1, 2011 at 5:10 pm

Ooh-la-la! I completely agree. Those are must haves!

Miranda @ Working Mom Works Out June 1, 2011 at 5:19 pm

Cathy June 1, 2011 at 5:48 pm

Of course you need these – and you need these tomorrow!! Anything less would be unacceptable!

Sarah @ The Strength of Faith June 1, 2011 at 5:57 pm

From one 26 year old to an almost 26 year old, I affirm this decision.

Carrie June 1, 2011 at 5:58 pm

Totally had to have them and just clicked away… thanks to you, I’ll have fancy new shoes too in a few days. Can’t wait to see a pic of them on! I even happened to have an AT gift card sitting around waiting to be used! $50 shoes for me!!!

Samantha June 1, 2011 at 6:00 pm

OH MY GOD so cute!!! Good pick!!

Baking 'n' Books June 1, 2011 at 6:03 pm

I would kill myself in those heels! Any heels actually…yikes.

How tall are you?

Aja June 1, 2011 at 6:22 pm

I want those shoes. Enjoy your birthday.

Jess@atasteofconfidence June 1, 2011 at 7:05 pm

Those are beautiful, but I’d die in heels that high!

Whitney June 1, 2011 at 7:10 pm

Yep, my birthday is Saturday and so I just bought these bad boys for myself too! Happy birthday to us!

Courtney T. June 1, 2011 at 7:12 pm

How amazing!! Wow… girl you will rock these shoes! Ann Tay never lets us down 😉

meghan@ struggle muffins June 1, 2011 at 7:16 pm

Obviously you need those shoes STAT! A girl can’t sit around waiting for such wonderful things to just arrriiive, she has to have them rush delivered so she can carry on with life with better-bedazzled feet :)

jenna June 1, 2011 at 7:26 pm

Amen soul sister!

Cynthia (It All Changes) June 1, 2011 at 7:17 pm

They look so pretty. Just be careful around the chocolate. :)

French Heart June 1, 2011 at 7:41 pm

Beautiful color–esp with blonde hair.

A sleeve-less short sheath in the shimmery nude, pale peach or seashell pink would be classy, sexy & great .

Something like this except the color is too dark:

This is feminine & adorable:

I scanned through ‘cocktail dresses’ on Nordstrom…there were some cute ones.
Loehmans on Sutter in San Francisco often find great things at a discount I hear.

If scan & find something you like online—can print out & do a run through better SF consignment shops on Polk & outter Sacramento St & you’d be amazed what you can find. SF society gals wear things once & then send them to consignment. Bonne chance!

Think Adam needs to take you to Gary Danko, or Fleur de Lys in SF with shoes like these. He’s pretty gifted in ‘BF-doing-sweet-imaginative-things’ dept.

Exciting that it’s almost your B-Day!

French Heart June 1, 2011 at 7:53 pm

PS: Do you ever go on Polyvore……see great things/ideas on there including designers like Kate Spade at 1/2 price!

Justeen @ Blissful Baking June 1, 2011 at 7:54 pm

Omg LOVE the shoes!! I say you made a very wise decision! :)

Dee June 1, 2011 at 7:55 pm

oh my gah. i die. LOVE.

Katie June 1, 2011 at 8:00 pm

Those shoes are FABULOUS! But are they comfortable? You’ll have to report back… inquiring minds want to know 😉

Kiran @ June 1, 2011 at 8:24 pm

Gorgeous shoes, and love the color!

capedaisy June 1, 2011 at 8:25 pm

pair those pink sparklies with yoga pants! You just know you want to! ;o)

Julie H. June 1, 2011 at 8:38 pm

I agree! The shoes MUST help you welcome year ’26’! ….I am going to be 25 in a few months and feel so caught between being young and being old. Right in the middle!!! You inspire me with theses shoes!

Moni'sMeals June 1, 2011 at 9:30 pm

I really like these! I am NOT a heel person either. I like how soft they look. :)

amy walters, aDESIGNdock June 1, 2011 at 9:30 pm

LOVE these sooooo much. Happy early Birthday Jenna 😉

Susan June 1, 2011 at 9:45 pm

You’re welcome! These certainly were a bright part of the rainy morning!

I can’t wait to hear what you think of them. I did standard delivery, so I’ll have to wait a bit longer. I’ll be on the lookout for sparkly shoes at Whole Foods. :)

Sarah @ OC2Seattle June 1, 2011 at 10:11 pm

There’s nothing like baking in heels, it makes your frosting fluffier and your chocolate mousse much more decadent. Happy almost b’day!

Katrina June 1, 2011 at 11:43 pm

Beauty shoes! I love a great deal. Time to bake!!

Khushboo June 2, 2011 at 12:30 am

Those shoes are hawtttt! I would have paid the forty extra bucks too- because I’m frugal like that 😉

Jemma @ Celery and Cupcakes June 2, 2011 at 3:29 am

Go get those shoes! They’re hot!

Molly @ RDexposed June 2, 2011 at 3:50 am

I’d be wearing these with everything! Like in bed sleeping, even!

Hannah June 2, 2011 at 3:50 am

LOVE those shoes…

these are my current obsession (but unlike yours they aren’t marked down to a reasonable price!)

Brooklyn @ Veggie Table June 2, 2011 at 6:15 am

Love those shoes (and your blog – just found it!!!!)

Natalia - a side of simple June 2, 2011 at 8:56 am

I firmly believe that baking/cooking skills rise to a whole new level when the cook/baker is wearing incredible heels or fuzzy slippers :)

jenna June 2, 2011 at 10:03 am

Baking Serendipity June 2, 2011 at 12:32 pm

I love them! I’ll be 26 soon too…which must mean shoes are in order :) Happy Birthday!

Cathy June 2, 2011 at 1:53 pm

Love them! I also have a pair of stilettos from Ann Taylor that I fondly refer to as my sh*tkickers. I feel invincible when I wear them :) They’re black patent leather with a silver heel. And oddly enough, I also got them for my birthday a few years ago. Happy early birthday to you!

Chelsa June 3, 2011 at 7:49 am

These shoes are adorable and totally appropriate for birthday girl.

Lauren June 3, 2011 at 2:27 pm

Ooh I have these shoes! They are SO comfortable, and very versatile! I wear them to work, out in the city, etc. Really love them.

Stephanie @ The Travelling Tastebuds June 5, 2011 at 1:35 pm

Those shoes are SO cute! I’m super impatient so I’d probaby pay a little extra for quick shipping. Happy birthday… a little early :)
