YOU GUYS!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your sweet birthday wishes yesterday!!! You truly made my day with your kind words. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had a great low-key day—played catch-up for the majority of it but then went to a yoga class last night and then out to a birthday dinner with about ten friends. I feel so lucky and blessed.
This past weekend was such a whirlwind in Seattle. I have only been to a BlogHer conference once before, and that was three years ago, so I wasn’t really sure exactly what to expect. Let’s just say it blew my expectations out of the water! I saw so many friends, made so many new friends and got to explore one of my new favorite cities. Yes….I do love Seattle. Very much. And the weather? I loved it!
I was a bad blogger and didn’t bring my big camera along for the trip…..it was either packing the camera or another pair of cute shoes. I picked the shoes—wouldn’t you? I took all the following photos with my iphone and edited them either with Instagram or Camera +. I love both apps.
Enjoy!
On Thursday night, I grabbed dinner and drinks with Jess, Bev, Lisa, Heather and Betsy. We had a blast!
These are Jess’s pulled pork nachos. I was jealous.
Maria and I! I truly love that girl.
Spicy bloody mary’s with my roommates on Saturday morning!
Cinnamon sugar doughnut holes at a lil Tasty Kitchen get-together Friday night.
And while we’re talking doughnuts, can I please just show this beautiful blueberry cake doughnut from Top Pot Doughnuts that I had for breakfast Saturday morning? Nothing like doughnuts two meals in a row.
Brunching with the girls.
A Heather Christo mini-me. This is Coco…and Mason the 150 lb “puppy”. Heather was sweet enough to invite us over Friday night for a glass of wine. She was also sweet enough to play taxi for us all weekend long…thank you, Heather!!!
Behind the scenes at Serious Biscuit Sunday morning. I wanted to crawl up and live underneath one of those tables, waiting for little biscuit scraps to fall my way.
Another shot of Maria and I…waitin’ for our breakfast!
Pike Place market…thanks to y’all who told me it’s PIKE place, not PIKE’S place. I tried another delicious doughnut hole there with RecipeGirl and RecipeBoy! I seriously need to get my paws off the doughnuts. Help.
Couldn’t resist taking this cute shot of the Pea family + “Auntie” Ree. So cute! It was so great to finally meet Ree in person—she is one of the sweetest and most generous people I’ve met! Plus, I’m totally envious of the turquoise blue cowgirl boots she was wearing!
Goodbye, Seattle!! Until next time!

LOVE all of your pictures … especially the ones of the donuts!
Looks like you had an incredible weekend!
Couldn’t get internet yesterday, so HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!
Hope you spend a wonderful and delicious year – you make my day better, every day.
xoxo
I’ve never been to Seattle or to a conference like that but it looks like you had sooo much fun hanging out with girlfriends and eating AMAZING food!
What a fabulous trip! Love the photos – looks like you had an AMAZING time!
Wow, Seattle looks amazing! I’ve never been but all of the recaps of BlogHer Food that I’ve been reading have bumped it up near the top of my must-visit list. I’m glad you had a wonderful time, and a great birthday too!
How did I miss the spicy bloody marys?!? BlogHer Food was my first ever blogging conference and I too was blown away. Great iphone pics.
I need your hat!
I’ve always wanted to visit Seattle. The food looks amazing, glad you had such a great time!
I have to say I’ve never been that intrigued by Seattle, but now I really want to go! I hate rainly weather, but it looks like a great foodie destination.
YAY! you visited a couple TD restaurants…hope you enjoyed! Wish i was working saturday! Glad you loved the city! And a happy belated birthday!
Looks like so much fun and I’m so there for the next one! Ps… cute hat!
Looks like you had an amazing time! I have yet to attend BlogHer, I really want to! One day!
I love that you chose shoes over a camera. That’s when you know you’ve made it as a blogger
.
Let’s do it again! <3
Love your recap post! We miss you already! Let’s get together again and SOON! You are always welcome in SLC!
This looks like so much fun!!! Love seeing all of the photos. Hope to join you all next year!
Sounds like a fabulous time! Loved your photos!
It was so great to finally meet you!! And so glad we had breakfast…next time we’ll have to plan another meal like that. I had a great time this weekend…even though I’m exhausted. I hope you’ll def come to Florida!! xoxo
That blueberry cake donut looks AMAZING. (Girl from Maine… I love all things blueberry.)
That conference looks like a lot of fun. I was going to say that I think I might have had an anxiety attack if I’d forgotten my camera, but your iPhone (I have an irrational aversion to buying one) did the trick very well.
I’ve finally tackled most of my list of US cities I’d like to see, after visiting major international ones first (which might be kind of weird.) But, I have yet to visit Seattle, and it’s always been high on my list… maybe because I came of age in the
’90s, during the grunge era. I love the movie Singles!
I’m glad you loved Seattle! It really is a wonderful city- there are few places like it (i.e. from Seattle you’re about a 2ish hour drive from the ocean, mountain, rainforest, etc.) Looks like you had lots of great eats as well! Haven’t been to Top Pot, but the doughnut place in Pike Place is cheap and delicious! Seattle can’t be beat.
Yummmm, those spicy bloody marys look delicious. I wish I had one right now! Love your hat/cap in the 4th pic!
Yum! I’m heading to Seattle in a couple weeks and can’t wait to try those doughnuts for myself. Thanks for the tips.
And happy belated birthday!
Love this! Thank you for doing such a sweet post of my hometown- Being that I am in NC now I miss it!
I love Seattle! You and Adam will have to go back for some PNW Glamping.
I feel jealous of those pulled pork nachos also!!!
Wow. Can I have one of those blueberry doughnuts delivered to my office in NJ? With Seattle’s Best Coffee, please : ) Amazing! So jealous of your trip!
Bloody mary’s and doughnuts look awesome! Still beautiful pictures even with little editing ability!
those donut holes look amazing. What a fun trip!
So crazy you were here! I love your blog and I live in Seattle, wish I had known!
xx
Looks like an amazing time with wonderful friends! Glad you had an awesome time leading up to your birthday!
Awesome pictures, I’d love to go to Seattle. I’m glad you had a fun trip and a wonderful birthday!
I’ve never been to Seattle, but based on your pictures, I need to go soon and visit those donut places. They look so yummy! Nothing like a gourmet donut and hot coffee for breakfast
Girl, you’re so pretty.
Sorry I missed your birthday! Happy Belated Birthday, Jenna! Ah, you lucky girl. You got to go to my beloved hometown of Seattle. I’m so jealous! I hope I’ll get a chance to go back there someday. I love the place!
Welp, I need to get to Seattle – looks like a great city.
Looks like you had a wonderful trip! And from the looks of those donuts… I don’t think I would be able to hold myself back either. Thanks for sharing the pictures!
Seattle is the place to be at conferences this year – I’ll be there in September for the Chefs Collaborative summit and I’m so excited after seeing all those amazing food finds!
Ohhh Top Pot…those delicious little cake doughnuts are the BEST! At a friends wedding last summer, they brought out dozens of them around 10pm for a late night snack, best.idea.ever!
What an amazing trip and conference and I had thought about attending but knew I would end up living vicariously through the posts about it….and thank you. Love the pics you have; and good call on shoes rather than the DSLR. Clearly it wasn’t needed …these are great
I just read your list from yesterday (Happy belated!) and must say, it’s better than Glamour’s “30 things you should have and should know by the time you are 30″ list. it’s really really really good.
Great photos and happy belated!
And what’s with the “You Guys”??? You are a Southern girl, don’t you mean Y’ALL. hehe Just had to give you a hard time
beautiful pictures
Love that picture of the three of you, you all look soooo gorgeous!
Glad you had fun in Seattle and you loved it!
You don’t need a fancy camera to show that you had a good time!
Looks like a lovely time – y’all make me want to go to Seattle for my senior trip now! (Although it’ll probably be either Cali or Europe, I’m thinking..) Love the black and white pic of you and Maria. Y’all are so cute!
Beautiful! Sounds and looks like a smashing good time. Doughnuts? Oh yeah.
sounds like so much fun! turquoise cowboy boots?? oh my….
It sounds like such an awesome conference! I still haven’t been able to go to a blogging conference yet, but here’s hoping I can attend one in the next year or two!
Oh whoah…that blueberry cake donut looks unreal. Mmmm.
YUM! I love cinnamon donut holes! All these photos look amazing and the food looks delicious! Yumyumyum!
This seriously looks like an amazing trip. Love the photos. You and your iPhone rock Jenna. Just sayin’
So cool that you met Ree! And your eats look DELICIOUS!
I’m hungry now.
Oh, how I miss Seattle and the Pacific Northwest! =( My husband is in the Army and we were stationed at Ft. Lewis (about 45 minutes south) for 3 years. I miss the food, the coffee, the culture, the scenery, and yes, even the weather! Thankfully I have a dear friend who will probably always live there so I can go back any time I want.
Looked like an amazing time!
blueberry cake doughnuts are my absolute favorite!
great pictures!
The whole experience looks like so much fun!
Hi Jenna! It looks like you had a fabulous time in Seattle. I have had a great time reading all the BlogHer recaps this week but my list of restaurants to visit the next time I am in Seattle is growing. I am bummed I missed out on all the doughnut places, although I did manage to eat ice cream, cupcakes and macarons in the same afternoon. Wish I could have met you in person at BlogHer, but maybe we will meet next year in Austin for BlogHer Food2013. Another amazing foodie town…
P.S. Happy Belated Birthday
Seattle looks amazing! Would love to visit one day. On my US trip last year I had so little time so missed it. Maybe next year… doughnuts! Pike Place looks great. Looks like so many fun times with friends, love it.
Heidi xo
I moved to the Seattle area Spring 2011 and I love it! Glad you do as well. For all those concerned about weather the best time to visit is July/August.
Looks like you had a great trip!
Don’t you love the iPhone camera and app capabilities? So much easier when you’re on the go and wanting to be social and “in the moment”. So glad you had a great birthday Jenna and the conference looked and sounds like it was unreal! Have a goodnight!
Jenna, I’m so sad we weren’t able to connect IRL while you were in Seattle! I would have been happy to play taxi, hostess, etc. I’m born/raised in Seattle and am seriously one of your biggest fans. I follow you across all your platforms and use you as an example with my clients of clean design and consistent content. Hopefully next time I can say hello in person. – Lara
can I ask what your necklace is in the picture of you and maria? It looks like turquoise something? thanks!
