Gorgeous photos. But looking at pictures like that makes me feel like people in the northern parts of this country have a really low quality of life for much of the year! π Everything’s dead, brown, grey, and snow-covered here. I want to move to CA!
Jenna, those pictures are equal parts delight and torture.
Delight because I’m a girl who plays in the dirt and grows lotsa veggies…and torture because I happen to live in Northern Wisconsin…which means I just walked through 3 foot of snow to get to my mailbox. Yeah. Really.
cathy b.
Cathy summed up my feelings perfectly, I experienced delight and torture while scrolling through your gorgeous photos! As I look out the window and see a couple feet of snow (a little less here in Southern Wisconsin), it seems like our farmers’ market is a long way off π
Beautiful photos! I planted little pea seeds in the garden a couple weeks back…I hope they survive this little cold snap! Hello fresh produce, here I come!
Gorgeous! Can’t wait for the summer farmer’s markets!

GAH! Padrones!!! I miss them so much. Figs as well. Can’t wait until they are back next season. Looks like the CUESA Ferry Building farmers market if you ask me π
Hey! “California Dreamin’ ” is the name of my personal 4-year-old blog! Good choice. Your photos have me interested in visiting the farmer’s market in my neighborhood tomorrow – the best in San Diego (the Hillcrest Farmer’s Market for anyone familiar)!
PS That’s something I’ve never had & sounds so good….quick fried squash blossoms.
Can’t get over the gorgeous photos! Just came back from Whole Foods with colorful haul of fruits & vegs. Am making linguini & clam sauce…sooooo yummy on a freezing night.
OH MY GOSH! What state do you live in??? I’m newly relocated to FL, but haven’t found any farmers markets yet. You pictures are fantastic, really getting me in the mood for fresh food perusing!
Your photos are great! It makes me happy to know that I’m not the only one who appreciates the beauty of farmer’s markets. They are especially sacred to me, living in the north where the growing season is only a few short months!
YUM. All that fresh produce looks soooo good… too bad it’s 5 degrees here in Minneapolis, we’ve got a ways to go before our farmers markets look that colorful π
I feel so blessed to live in CA (San Diego) and have an abundance of local, fresh produce year round….and also blooming flowers, plants, green trees. Growing up in MN makes me appreciate the Land of Abundance even more!
These pics are glorious Jenna. Way to rock your camera skills π
Oh man do those photos ever make me miss my homeland! I’m a California girl but moved to Calgary, Alberta because of my Canadian husband, and while I love it here, February does NOT bring fresh produce like that up here! π Enjoy it full blast!
Beautiful!! I can’t wait to hit up my market later this morning. I am praying they still have some figs, though I think the season is over for the guy that sells them at the market. π
beautiful pictures…am in love with all these fruits and veggies now. The fruits are looking so inviting that I felt like picking a bunch of grapes from your blog π
Ohhh how I wish I lived somewhere warm. It doesn’t even have to be THAT warm, just warm enough to go to the farmer’s market year round. Minnesota doesn’t provide that luxury, but when summer comes, it makes it all the more wonderful. Thanks for giving me my farmer’s market fix for the month. π
Jenna – what beautiful pictures! And what beautiful produce – I’m so jealous that your farmer’s market is open. It will be the end of June before ours is open here. Thanks for the incentive to hold on a little longer, spring is just around the corner.
