Green Recipes for St. Patrick’s Day

st patties day-7462

St. Patrick’s Day is next Tuesday and I wanted to give you guys some recipe options to celebrate! I’m not Irish, nor do I care for green beer, but I do love celebrating holidays with fun themed food.

We are heading to Florida this week to celebrate one of my best friends, who is tying the knot with an amazing guy. I’m excited because we’ve rented a little house with a pool on VRBO for the weekend so Grayson is going to go swimming for the first time! I may or may not have gotten him the cutest swim suit ever. I plan to take lots of photos to share with you guys when I get back. Meanwhile, enjoy these green recipes!

Pistachio Pudding Cupcakes are fun to bring to a themed party! You only need three ingredients for the cupcakes so there’s no real excuse here.

Creamy Lime Squares are always a wonderful idea. These are a favorite of mine, as citrus desserts are the key to my heart.

These Smashed Chickpea, Avocado and Pesto Sandwiches from Two Peas & Their Pod are calling my name. If you have children, this would be fun to send in their lunchbox next Tuesday!

My Spicy Guacamole Hummus is a yummy snack or light lunch. You could also sandwich this between bread and call it dinner. Or breakfast, even!

I love this Green Goddess Pasta because it tastes so indulgent yet it’s actually quite light! The recipe serves one but it’s easily scalable for a family of four.

Okay so these Guinness Floats from Gimme Some Oven are not green but I’m making an exception because they sound so darn good. I would have a very happy hubby indeed if I made him one of these on St. Patrick’s Day!

Maple Avo Smoothie

On a lighter note, don’t these Maple Avocado Smoothies sound divine?

Or these Maple Spinach Smoothies with Flax Seeds? Both of those recipes (and photos) are courtesy of Pure Canadian Maple Syrup and look so unbelievably creamy and delicious. Not to mention, healthy!

Wow, I absolutely love every part of this post. I’ve never seen bars like that that aren’t lemon. They look delicious…and so pretty. My favorite color is green. Everything here looks and sounds devine!

I totally agree ~ what’s is it about eye-popping green food, I don’t know! But I love it. And I think you just saved me with all these options from swinging by McDonalds and downing a Green Milkshake.

I think that Maple Avocado Smoothie is calling my name! I would never think to do that – have you had a smoothie with avocado in it before?

Love the recipe roundup! And love that they are not all leprechauns and shamrocks 🙂

Can’t wait to see his little swim suit! His hair cut is adorable BTW!

Guacamole is always a great idea for st. pattys and you can even get those green tortilla spinach chips to add even more festiveness. Wow those Pistachio Pudding Cupcakes sound and look amazing! They’d be the perfect treat for any party.

    Hello,

I’m Patrick Dennis with vrbo.com . I love how you mentioned VRBO in your article, and your little house rental with a pool. I was just wondering if you wouldn’t mind adding a link to our site, since you mentioned us so thoughtfully. Please let me know if you can help with this.

    Best,
    Patrick
