Behind The Butter

Summit Success!!

Well, the Summit was a HUGE success if I do say so myself!!

Honestly, it all went perfectly (knock on wood, its not over yet!) and I loved meeting so many amazing women. My nerves were definitely going this morning though, as I only got three hours of sleep last night (couldn’t fall asleep!) but I pulled myself together after some Amazing Grass, hot tea and, err, coffee.

I’m not going to do a whole recap of last night’s cocktail party, only because it was CRAZY and I was so busy talking to people I couldn’t even really take pictures for once. About 110 girls showed up and we just had a total and complete blast at Rustic Kitchen. Here are some pictures that highlighted the evening!

I was SO excited to finally meet Gena after feeling like I’ve known her for months and months!! And hot dang! this girl is SASSY. I loved her 🙂

IMG_2753.JPG
The hot pink shoes totally made an appearance 🙂

IMG_2758.JPG
As did my dress on Anne P, which now is being held hostage in DC until I come visit her to claim it back 😉

IMG_2755.JPG
Unfortunately I was so busy chatting I didn’t really eat. Bad, I know. I didn’t have very much to drink though and gulped down water to keep hydrated! I did eat three fried risotto balls and a tiny slice of pizza but never really had “dinner”. It was like the wedding I’ve never had! Or a crazy foodie version of sorority rush. Insanity.

I actually was one of the first to leave because at the time I was exhausted and wanted to be well rested for the big event today. Well as soon as my head hit the pillow my mind started racing and I ended up laying in bed for almost four hours before falling asleep!!! Needless to say, I have been quite the zombie all day.

I got up at 6:15 this morning and hurried to get all ready before meeting the other girls in our conference room!

I was in total and complete AWE of the awesomeness of the granola and yogurt bar!!!!!!

IMG_2763.JPG

IMG_2764.JPG
a HUGE thank you to MixMyGranola and Stonyfield for this amazing spread!

IMG_2765.JPG
I got this muffin just because. I only ate half of it but it was yummy! My tummy had butterflies in it and I didn’t eat very much!!
And then the Summit officially began after breakfast! I hope you all got to tune in for a just a little bit on livestream earlier because it was just SO cool and Mr. Hangry Pants (aka Mark) did the most fantastic job ever dealing with the six of us girls and getting us all up and running all day long! He was also the “bouncer” at our party last night……I think he might need some major guy time when he gets back home! hahaha

Our amazing attendees!!

We had a great line up with some awesome speakers including the fab Zesty Cook!

IMG_2774.JPG
Since I didn’t eat much breakfast I was HANGRY when lunch time rolled around. Actually I ate one of Miss Hangry’s homemade TNT bake sale cookies beforehand because I couldn’t control myself! 😉 At lunch, I filled up on a turkey and cheese sandwich, potato salad, caprese salad and watermelon!
IMG_2775.JPG
Twas delicious and I felt much better after I ate.
The afternoon rolled right along as well. I made a game time decision to go ahead with my yoga speech, which I had previously cut out of the agenda. Impromptu speeches are the best anyways and I think it went well! Around 3:00 we took a little POM juice break and I had an Amazing Grass crack-bar

Whew! I can’t believe its all over (almost). I’m getting ready to meet everyone downstairs to walk to some “Fisherman’s Feast” festival so I can stuff myself silly with Boston seafood. Us Summit girls are bummin’ it in jeans, t-shirts and sneakers tonight and I’m going to be veeeery happy when sleepy-time comes.
Perhaps another mini vlog tomorrow??!
A HUGE thank you to our amazing sponsors, without which this event could have never in a million gazillion years have taken place. Thank you Stonyfield Farms, Foodbuzz and Zesty!!!!!!!!
That’s a wrap!!!

I was super excited too and I was only going to be watching on Live Stream. I got up super early so I could get my workout in before it started because I knew I had errands to run today but I got to watch Janel’s presentation (which came in really handy in the supermarket today), and when I got back after lunch I was able to watch all missed clips this evening after everything was over, like immediately after which was really great. You all did an amazing job and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

The summit looks amazing. I so sad that I couldn’t be there, but I was able to watch from home due to the live and recorded sessions. I have to say, that feature was amazing…. It seems as though everything went so smoothly due to the great organization team. 🙂

I am hopeful that there will be another healthy living summit next year and that I can attend or even help organize. 🙂
