Last night, after cooking a huge pot of channa masala and almost burning the apartment down baking homemade naan bread, I discovered greatness.
You see, you take the linzer cookies, skip the jam and just load them up with Nutella.
Because at the end of the day, after we have set the oven on fire, gotten tomato puree on our contact lens and been forced to take a cold shower after excessive dish washing, don’t we all just need a chocolate sandwich cookie (or five) in our life?
Off to go clean the oil spill from my oven. If I don’t return by this evening, send out reinforcements.
Or another jar off Nutella.

I’ve actually never tried Nutella – I know….SIN!!!!!
Any reason or way to use Nutella is good in my book. Nom nom nom.
Omg just happen to have an unopened jar of Nutella. Now I mus make those cookies!
I wish you could come clean my oven next!
Haha yum… I almost burn my house down on a regular basis so I feel your pain. Good luck cleaning it!
I still have never tried Nutella
I have never actually had nutella…..Shocking right? i not a fan of hazelnuts so i fugured i wouldnt like it but i might just have to try some because those cookies look amazingggg!
Nutella is a gift from the gods. Don’t question but just enjoy.
This sounds like bliss. it has been much too long since I’ve had nutella!
When I was studying abroad in London, my flatmates and I dipped everything known to man in our Nutella jars. Glorious.
I hope your kitchen is okay!!
Too funny! I bet Nutella on cookies would be amazing, after all, why stop at bread?!
(PS – My favorite way to enjoy Nutella will always be by the spoonful.)
ha! this sounds SO familiar. After burning my first batch of bread cubes for my Weekend Brie Strata to an absaloute charcoal crisp, I sat down with a nice bowl of caramel pastry cream(leftover from making eclairs!) and banana slices and whipped cream and peanuts…..and life was suddenly good! I went on to bread cube success!

Love ya,
Cathy B. @ brightbakes
LOL – sorry about your mishaps, but at least you can have some humor about em
I think that’s a fine way to end a hectic day!
“don’t we all just need a chocolate sandwich cookie (or five) in our life?”
Lord knows I do.
If only my apartment was conducive to making baked goods. I have no surfaces. The ugly, dark side to apartment living in San Francisco. Sad.
way to use nutella to make everything better! grease spilled in my oven last night so i feel your pain…
Another fantastic cookie.:)
I’ll take Nutella on just about everything! I recently baked mini banana chocolate chip muffins at my son’s one room school house with his class of 5 and we used Nutella as the frosting. I had 5 VERY excited K-1 students!
You need to go back to Europe. They sell Nutella in jars that are the size of your facee!
that is my favorite part of living here in London!!! NUTELLA!!! When I went to Italy, they served unlimited quantities with BREAKFAST. heaven. pure heaven.
So I work with 5 or 6 people from Europe and they never knew what peanut butter was until coming to the U.S. That being said there’s a endless company supply of Nutella in the office kitchen. Best. job. ever.
You can never go wrong with Nutella
LOVE your outlook on things! I need to try Nutella!
I adore Nutella. I’m out of PB and I think I’ll replace it this week with Nutella. My fav. Looks good!
What a good idea! Nutella is amazing!!
I miss renting, wherein I can destroy someone else’s oven. A security deposit is a small price to pay for homemade naan.
why am i always eating nutella here—ALWAYS.
Mmmm Nutella. It’s a way of life. Have a great weekend, Jenna!
I like nutella but for me it to sweet on it’s own so I have to dip something salty in it. My favorite is either popcorn or crackers! I know it sounds odd but I love that sweet/salty combination.
Yummy! We had Nutella last night on graham crackers:)
Oh, and I made your easy, peasy 15 minutes oatmeal scones Thursday to go with some Trader Joe’s pesto tortellini…HEAVENLY! Thanks so much for all your recipes. I love trying new things every week:)
Jenn
my kitchen is a disaster zone right now. I have flour on the floor, cracker crumb everywhere, a sink full of dishes… oy vay!
I love nutella!! Unfortunately I hardly ever consume white sugar so I very seldom enjoy this treat:(
sounds like me in the kitchen sometimes… i am a walking disaster and always burn or cut myself or drop things that are not easy to clean up
Mmmmm….good idea. I hope the Naan turned out okay. If it didn’t, maybe a little Nutella spread on top would help
I love Nutella! I had some pumpkin + Nutella oats the other morning. Pure heaven.
Nutella! Yes~ The Path to Greatness.
Genius
Minus the almost burning the kitchen down, did the naan turn out? I love naan, but have not tried to make it at home. Nutella on naan would be amazing!
quite the night…and who doesn’t need cookies like that no matter what…heck, i haven’t really done anything today and i know i could use one (or 20)
Oh man, Nutella is probably the best thing in the world. I can’t imagine it being bad on anything!
I have DCD PB&Co. here…kind of like Nutella?…
Question — when you were setting the oven on fire, were you still tipsy with wine and oysters and salmon fighting each other in your stomach?
No judgments!! I mean, drunk or sober, I still create a huge mess wherever I go.
“and almost burning the apartment down baking homemade naan bread”–
I did that last week with tofu. I swear it went from not done to setting off a 4 alarm fire in like 2 mins. And nothing like the smell of burnt tofu to linger in the house for a few days. Or 5. Ewww.
The only recourse for that is this, of course!!!! “don’t we all just need a chocolate sandwich cookie (or five) in our life?”
YES!
Food related contact lens episodes are a sign of greatness by the way
Nutella is heavenly. You should try it homemade, yum yum!
I knew that was Nutella in that pic…..love it! If I were stranded on an island, I would want my eye liner and a jar (or 10) of Nutella!
Jenna, no comment for you post (except maybe yum!), but did you see the LA Times today?

Love channa masala! It’s my fav. curry for sure!
Too bad about the naan bread…better luck next time.
I usually just do my in a pan on the stove and it turns out perfectly.
You KEEP reminding me of my love of Nutella. Must.buy.some.
Have you had Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter? Anything like Nutella, if you have had it? I’ve seen it around, but never tried it…
I bet this combo does taste delicious…
It’s been years since I last had Nutella!
is it weird that when i read your linzer cookie post i thought to myself wow how good would that be with nutella instead of jam, but didnt mention it b/c i was thinking then they wouldnt really be linzer cookies…
I’m sorry to hear you had a rough off day in the kitchen. Who doesn’t? Just like others on this post, I too, am a Nutella virgin. I guess I should put that on my next grocery shopping list. I hear it’s worth the wait!
Ohh – so good! Though you could probably slather Nutella on cardboard and it would taste lovely! haha
It’s true, sometimes we just need a little Nutella to make everything all better!
You should make your own! It’s so much more delicious and Nutella has palm oil as its stabilizer. Gross for your body and gross for the environment!
Nutella is a dangerous drug
Nutella is a wondrous food
I totally have that plate…World Market???
yes! World Market, ftw
This blog sums up what I love about you. You’re just a normal girl who gives in to Nutella when the time is needed. This is coming from the girl who on bad day grabs the Nutella and a spoon. Sometimes we all need to just eat what we love and not worry about whether we should be eating it or not.
