After 15 hours of travel, I stepped off my flight from Miami into Caribbean paradise. Well, actually it looked like it was about to storm, but Caribbean paradise none the less. I was coming to St. Croix to attend the 11th annual St. Croix Food & Wine Festival, held at the lovely Divi Carina Bay Hotel.
I was honored to be asked to attend as part of the media coverage of the event, and couldn’t wait to dig my feet into the sand. This Florida girl couldn’t believe it had been almost two years since she had swam in the ocean!! I guess that’s what Northern California does to you.
The Divi Carina Bay Hotel was generous enough to host me for the event. Check out the room!
My favorite part were the hardwood floors and the ocean front balcony (obviously!). Well, and the bed. And the shower.
Actually everything was my favorite part after being on a plane for almost nine hours.
Beds. Glorious, beautiful, comfortable beds. With fresh flowers and soft beach towels!
Now I know what I’m about to say will make absolutely no sense whatsoever, but the first thing I did when I got to my room was unroll my travel yoga mat! I was so tired I was almost dizzy, but knew after traveling for so long I needed to stretch. And I sure as heck wasn’t going to the hotel gym.
You wanna know the second thing I did? Eat two huge slices of pizza. And drink some rum punch.
Then I slept for 12 hours! Thank the Lord.
More about the food when I return!

The closest I’ve been to anything tropical has been in the form of a fruity tasty alcoholic beverage. These pictures are making me want to take that next step and actually GO

How long are you gone for? Do you mind if I ask if you contacted them or if they found you? I’m always interested to see how people get “exposed”!! But given the success of ELR – it’s no surprise of course!
Oooh, have a blast! I love the Caribbean!

)
Haha! I would’ve done the same with rum and sleep
beautiful sunset
omg its gorgeous there! i need to leave vancouver and its flip-floppy weather!
I loooove the colors of that hotel room.
Can I move to st croix? Specifically that room? Even more specifically the bed on the right – I want the flower!
Can you tell us more about your travel yoga mat? I don’t know what to use in a hotel room and never want to check a bag large enough to take my mat.
It’s by Jade Yoga Mats and is super thin so you can fold it up and stick it at the bottom of your suitcase. I actually borrowed it from the studio but really want to buy my own because it was so light and easy!
