Guess where we’re going tomorrow!
Hint: it’s not Big Sur….but it’s close. And I’ll be bringing a dozen of these for the drive!
ps: my apartment still smells like bacon.
pps: I just wrote a chapter in my book about how I used to get made fun of in sixth grade for not having to wear a bra yet. Here’s to being awkward and undeveloped!
ppps: have you noticed the new print feature on my recipes? Wahoo!
Okay, I’ll stop now. I have a cake in the oven!

Lauren Z.
January 27, 2011 at 12:18 pmThat is TOTALLY what I’ve been doing too! Especially labeling recipes preceded by “Jenna’s Mom’s…” LOL.
Debbie
January 27, 2011 at 1:16 pmI must confess, I’ve been copying and emailing your recipes to myself with your name tagged on to the end of the recipe name, so that when I have the time to go back and make something, I will know it is fabulous because it was Jenna-made and Jenna-approved! π
Brenna [fabuleuxdestin]
January 27, 2011 at 3:45 pmHaha me too, my roomates know you because they say, “oh is this one of Jenna’s recipes?” Sounds creepy, but it’s true.
ps. I could write an anthology about my middle school awkwardness.
Karen
January 28, 2011 at 5:18 amSo glad there’s another reader using this old-school nerdy method!

January 27, 2011 at 11:53 amHave fun! (Oh, and I technically didn’t need a bra until college. I just wore one because, well, that’s what girls do.)

January 27, 2011 at 11:56 amI still don’t need one….awkward…! Eeeps.
On another note – are those molasses cookies soft and chewy?!

January 27, 2011 at 12:00 pmWhat about people who *stopped* development in sixth grade? I was always ahead of the other girls and suddenly, boom, sixth grade hit and I stopped growing.

January 27, 2011 at 12:02 pmHave fun this weekend!

January 27, 2011 at 12:16 pmCarmel?! Anywhere along the coast is going to be so fun. Can’t wait to see where you end up going!
ashley @ one hot mess
January 27, 2011 at 12:20 pmMy guess is Carmel or Malibu!
I love that you’re writing a book! To be honest, I didn’t wear a real bra until about age 17 (I had mosquito bites for boobs until college). While most of my friends were excited about wearing a bra, I was happy that I didn’t HAVE to deal with one.
Have a great weekend!
Daisy
January 27, 2011 at 12:27 pmtechnically I didn’t need to wear a bra until 10th grade so if you got em in 7th consider yourself well endowed π
Ilana
January 27, 2011 at 12:30 pmIf it makes you feel better, I was already on my way to C cup in 6th grade and got made fun of for that. Brutally so.
Madeleine @ Stepping to the Bright Side
January 27, 2011 at 12:35 pmi’m on day 3 of a 21 day cleanse right now and you talking about a cake and bacon is making me rethink my decision…
Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga)
January 27, 2011 at 12:43 pm6th and 7th grade were possibly some of the worst years of my life. Awkward much? YES!
And the print recipe feature..just this morning! I installed it on my (new) site, too! I just made the move to self-hosted WP. What was I waiting for?! But yes I can’t wait to use my new widget. It’s the small things, isn’t it π
Kristina
January 27, 2011 at 12:49 pmThis is my first comment, but I love your blog!
One of my favorite things about cooking bacon is how it makes my apartment smell like bacon for the rest of the day… and part of the next day… π

January 27, 2011 at 12:59 pmHow about being in 5th grade and HAVING to wear one π π
SOOOO excited about the print feature! I always had to copy and paste into word⦠not that it was difficult or anything, but this is just awesome!!!
Jess (Daly Authenticity)
January 27, 2011 at 1:00 pmTrue story: I could probably still almost go without a bra. Sad, I know.
I love the print recipe feature! I have been trying to figure out how to do that with my blog, but I am unsure whether you can do it for blogger. I have found a “print me” feature for the whole post, but I’d like it to just print the recipe. Is it possible?
Lisa
January 27, 2011 at 1:04 pmoooh have fun indeed!

January 27, 2011 at 1:11 pmI would have loved to be underdeveloped in grade 6. I got made fun of for being over developed. We’re talking 34 C in grade 6. Gym was rough for me.
jessicaisbaking
January 27, 2011 at 1:12 pmcheers to being underdeveloped! i didnt need to wear a bra until my sophomore year of high school! Come to think of it, I’m sort of still waiting!! Have a lovely getaway!
Kelly
January 27, 2011 at 1:22 pmHaha! If I wasn’t chubby, I probably could have went much longer without a bra. I’m pretty sure I started wearing a bra, just to hide my nipples on a cold day. Oh the joys of adolescence.
Natalia - a side of simple
January 27, 2011 at 1:35 pmTake me with you?! I’ll come equipped with wine + stretchy pants + slippers.
In sixth grade I remember it was the “thing” to do to snap each other’s bra strap in the back. I didn’t really partake. I was too busy reading “Little House” under my desk.
Claire
January 27, 2011 at 1:36 pmSan Luis Obispo?
And if it’s not, I HIGHLY suggest it’s where you come soon.
So many great restaurants, hikes, beaches, and wineries. Plus, it’s the happiest city in America. π

January 27, 2011 at 1:37 pmHaha that was definitely me in junior high.. or pretty much now haha, just a little bit improved. π
I need to make that pasta! And get to Cali- this east coast snow/winter must end!

Liz
January 27, 2011 at 1:51 pmAs others, I got made fun of for being overdeveloped! Well, not made fun of…. teased by the boys. I started wearing a bra in 4th grade.

January 27, 2011 at 3:47 pmInteresting, in fifth grade I got endlessly teased for being the only girl wearing a bra.
Awkward then, definitely not now!
Kate
January 27, 2011 at 3:48 pmUgh, 6th grade… WORST. YEAR. EVER. Let’s not think about that. Have fun this weekend… wherever you’re going π Oh, and I love the print feature!

January 27, 2011 at 4:20 pmhaha, I had to start wearing a bra at age nine……yeah, not like I’ve got anything big but I was my full height, weight and shape (that I am now) by the time I turned eleven. haha
Sally
January 27, 2011 at 4:45 pmCall me crazy, but as much as I love bacon and believe it is the answer to world peace, I hate the smell of it that lingers for days after it’s cooked. It always makes me feel like I should be a guest on Jerry Springer.

January 27, 2011 at 5:14 pmHi Jenna! I’ve been following your blog for about 2 years now and am just starting to enter the wonderful world of commenting. I also just started my own blog – I wanted to thank you because your pursuit of your dreams has been inspirational to me as I’m now pursuing my own. Looking forward to more ELR adventures and yumazing recipes π

January 27, 2011 at 5:52 pmomg, I got teased for not wearing a bra in 6th grade too! I was too embarrassed to ask my mom if I could wear one, but all my friends were wearing bras starting in 3rd grade! Bras, who needs em anyway.
