Dessert/ Dinner

But…It’s Friday!

Yesssssssssss it’s Friday!

Now I just need to get through school tonight! It should be a relatively easy night since we are plating…aka doing the same thing we did last Friday where we plate three desserts and then the wine class comes in and tastes our stuff and we drink wine. For some reason this whole procedure took until 12:30 last Friday night but I’m hoping tonight will go by much easier and faster and we can get home at a reasonable hour. Tonight is also the night my big project (well, the written part) is due. Mine ended up being almost 13 pages, typed! I’m SO glad I didn’t procrastinate on this one though and got it done last weekend so I wouldn’t have to worry about it this week. Next week, the final week of my class, is when I will actually create the goodies I describe in my dessert menu so be sure to stay tuned for that!

Tonight’s dinner was easy easy. I just re-heated my leftover turkey burger from the other night (remember, I made four burgers—froze two and cooked two. Works like a charm) and served it on a whole wheat Rudi’s bagel with a slice of provolone cheese, dijon mustard and ketchup.

Pretty healthy. The not-so-healthy aspect of my meal were these chips:

These are SO tasty and delish! I got this snack sized back from the time I went to the Whole Foods grand opening and received that huge goody bag. The serving size for these chips is one tiny bag and they have 190 calories and 13 grams of fat in them. But they are sweet potatoes, right???!!! 😉 They were really yummy though and a nice treat to have with my turkey burger instead of the usual salad. Hey, it’s Friday! I’m also bringing two fig newmans to school with me for a dessert later.

I don’t really have anything planned this weekend except hanging around my house and relaxing! My mom and I are going out to dinner tomorrow night at Flemings and I’m excited about that because I can order their amazingggggg salmon (it’s the best salmon dish I’ve ever had. Hands down. That says a lot!) and a nice glass of wine. Sunday night I’m picking up the boyfriend from the airport and we are going straight out for pizza :).  Tomorrow will be spent doing yoga in the morning and then spending time with my mommy and relaxing.

You might think this is completely inappropriate, but you are way hot. There aren’t any female chefs like you in the kitchens I’ve worked at…

To be PC, of course, you are also going to be a great chef…

    Hey Jenna,

I’m a daily blog reader but rarely comment… but I needed to say something today because I’m traveling for work and came upon my first Pita Pit! I stopped there for lunch since you always talk about it! I got a salad with all kinds of hummus + pineapple + jalapeno goodness… delish! thanks!

    ModelBehavior,

Sorry! I thought I answered your question a few days ago but you must have missed my quick response. I said that most of my mugs are my roommates actually but that yellow chocolate one is from a tiny Parisian boutique and it’s my baby!! I always pick up random mugs when I’m traveling because they bring back the best memories.

    ps-love the blog!

Jenna hope you get to catch up on some rest this weekend.

I have a question about yoga downloads. Would you only recommend it for advance yogis or beginners as well? I believe you said you have practiced for several years.

Also, I have tried yoga videos before and they are kinda boring and hard to stay motivated to complete in comparison to a live class-do you feel the yoga downloads are somehow different?

    Amanda,

I think a classroom setting is best for beginners because they can learn the proper postures from a professional in a motivating setting. Yoga downloads are wonderful for when you feel comfortable enough with the postures and your practice and you want to start practicing alone. But….its so very important to do the poses right or you may hurt yourself and for that, you really need the guidance of a teacher if you are just starting out in your practice. I find the downloads much more interesting that dvds because it feels more one-on-one and personal.
