Well, unfortunately I’ve had about 10 cups of iced tea this afternoon so I’m still on a caffeine high right now and its 8:30….looks like it might be a late night :\
I did snack on some HUGE organic grapes and a mini bag of kettle corn!
I don’t really enjoy popcorn unless its kettle corn…..I love the sweet/salty combo!
Around 5:30 I had a lovely glass of one of my favorites with my mom—
Sigh. I miss Sonoma!!
We had the most INCREDIBLE dinner. I know I get pretty excited about food most of the time but this really was off the charts….as in, I’m making it again asap. It was probably the best dinner I’ve had in a really, really long time!
This would be linguine with escarole, brie and pancetta from Food & Wine magazine. The flavor combinations were out of this world…..I might have stood over the stove afterwards picking at all the cheesy pasta strands. Just thinking about this meal gets me excited all over again…..gahhh!
Dessert was Swiss dark chocolate!
My tummy is so happy right now. I mean, this might go down in history as one of my favorite meals……great wine, awesome pasta and extra dark chocolate. Can you even GET better?! I think not.
Since I’m so wired right now (dang iced tea), I think I will use all my extra energy to get more freelance assignments done.
Can’t believe tomorrow is already September 1st!

I am taking my first trip to wine country this week, and I am SO excited!!
Your dinner looks lovely. Hope you get some sleep! If I have caffeine after 12:00 I am up for the night, ick!
That does look like a wonderful dinner!
Good luck coming down from all the iced tea. Maybe some chamomile tea would help?
Totally jealous over here.
Oh. My. LORD! That pasta looks SO GOOD!
I love kettle korn, too; it’s the perfect snack for me when I’m reading or watching television on a lazy afternoon.
And seriously, where did September go!?
That pasta does indeed look AMAZING. Is there a recipe/method you can share?!? I’m coveting it!
Ellie,
I believe its from the latest issue of Food & Wine! SO good!
Wow! I need to try that pasta! It looks amazing! And dark chocolate makes any meal incredible!
Sounds wonderful!!!! Wine, pasta, chocolate=bliss. Hope you’re not up too late from the caffeine!!!
I haven’t had pasta in a while and haven’t missed it until that picture!
The pasta look amazing! I love trying new recipies from magazines, websites, etc.
Oh yeah… I LOVE that kettle corn
Thank goodness for the mini bags!!!
Your dinner – I would have to say – was PERFECT. Major yum all around!!
Hope you have a good night!

holy cow that pasta looks amazing!
and a good piece of chocolate always completes the night
I only enjoy Kettle Corn too. And only if it’s really burnt. I know that’s so weird, but hey, to each his own!
Wow, what an incredibly gormuet dinner. Sounds like a fantastic way to spice up your Monday night.
Take care and have a wonderful evening.
That dinner looks incredible. You almost make me want to like red wine.
I keep trying but I just can’t drink it in the heat of summer in the south.
True/Slant article rocked, per usual!
OH brie… I love brie. And pasta. Delicious!
um pasta + brie…. yum, I’ll definitely have to find that issue!
Yum! I’m partial to all things Brie, of course.
Food envy from all directions it looks like! I need to go find myself some chocolate now… thanks a lot!
That dinner looks out of this world amazing!
I rediscovered my love for popcorn the other day; I’ve gotta get started staking out a “healthy” brand (no artificial yellows or weird faux buttery flavors, etc.) — good luck to me! I think they exist, though. Maybe Newman’s?
Oh yum….pasta, cheese and pancetta?!?!? Does it get any better than that?? Oh yes, the greens too
OMG, that pasta looks FABULOUS! I just love playing around with ingredients in pasta dishes, and it certainly looks like you found a winner. Looks like the perfect mix of light cream, flavors, and veggies. YUM!
Wow! That pasta does look amazing! Brie and pancetta…YUM! Good luck getting to bed!
Thanks Jenna–I will HAVE to check that magazine out!
Pasta and chocolate look GREAT!! And might as well use the energy for something right?
loveee kettle corn!
wow your dinner does look incredible! I’d be very happy eating that. I agree with you…I only enjoy Kettle Corn too!
the organic grapes look so delish!
Oh my gosh, your blog’s back for me! For some reason it’d been down for a few weeks (since your original crash) at home but was working at work…very odd. Happy it’s back up and I can enjoy it at home.
That dinner did look pretty fab, as well as the the items that preceded and followed it. ;] Glad you’re using all that energy for extra assignments too! Good luck.
Hey Jenna! Kettle corn is the only kind I eat, too! But I must say, I’ve gotten whole boxes of Orville Redenbacher kettle corn where there was no flavoring on the popcorn . . . at all! Is that the kind you get? Has that happened to you? It’s very frustrating!
Wow it sounds like a perfect meal in my books!
I have brie in my fridge! I am finding that recipe and making it!!
Yeah that dinner looks scrumptious… good choice!
That recipe sounds amazing – are you able to post it or link to it?
Oooh I have that magazine, so I am going to have to whip that pasta up!!!!!! Looks AMAZING!!!!!
wow, that pasta looks UNBELIEVABLE! cheese, pasta, pancetta… 3 foods that make me very happy:) I will be making that this week, for sure! thanks for sharing!
Kettle corn is my favorite! Something about the sweet/salty combo gets my every time! That dinner dish sounds (and looks) amazing!
That pasta looks sooo good! Kettle corn is so good when its fresh and warm…yummay!
That pasta looks to die for! I’m also a huuuge fan of kettle corn; so yummy. My dog’s a fan, too…haha, she always makes sure she’s around for any fallout.
I have to say that looks wonderful! I am also glad that you actually eat pasta!!! So many people stray away from those things because they are afraid of gaining weight, but as long as you have it in moderation, you’ll be fine! I read that you lived in France for a little while. I live in Europe too, and that is definitely something that I have learned here. I crave quality food now even more than when I was in the states!
I HAVE to try that pasta…I love brie cheese! And after your positive comments, I can’t wait to make it myself! xxx Julia (Taste of Living)
Haha, I get excited about food often too, so I don’t think people get it when something is REALLY good!!
Off to read the new article!
That pasta sounds wonderful. I think it would be a great dinner to make my boyfriend for his birthday. Thanks for the inspiration!
Wow that pasta looks wonderful!
Those grapes ARE huge! I don’t think I’ve ever seen them that big!
The pasta is making me so hungry!!! I can’t find it on the food & wine website. I’m going to have to find a copy of the magazine! (love brie!!!!)
oh yes, this is my kind of dish as well, nothing beats a big bowl of pasta (fresh if I have time to make it) and a glass of vino, yum!
Whoa that pasta looks divine. Have a recipe to share? Or did you make it up?
Can’t wait for Pumpkin Spiced Lattes. Fall is almost here!
Love Liar’s Dice! The Murphy-Goode Terra Lago Cab is also a favorite.
those are the hulk hogans of grapes — woo wee!
Jenna – The pasta dish sounds delish, I tried finding it on F&W’s website, but to no avail. Do you mind posting it? Thanks!
