I’m glad you all enjoyed reading my post earlier! Thank you for all the positive comments 🙂
I’ve been running around like a chicken with her head cut off this morning…woke up and the blog had crashed again and then lost my camera for an hour before I realized it was in my pocket. Sigh. Never fear though, the blog is back up for good now…another huge thank you to Mr. Beaugh, my personal blog hero. I woke him up with frantic text messages stating “the blog is down, the blog is down, the blog is down!!!!” and he immediately go to work to fix the problem. Adam, I owe you!
Breakfast was a Kashi waffle sandwich with almond butter and preserves with a hard boiled egg on the side:
I did manage 75 minutes of a Dave Farmar yoga podcast. I was super crackly this morning but it felt so good to stretch and strengthen every inch of me….even though all three animals were crawling all over my mat the entire time. 😉
The real highlight of my day was a special delivery!!!!!!!
Lia, I love you!!!!!! Lia lives in the Swiss Alps and sent me a HUGE care package full of chocolates and other Swiss goodies. I immediately dug into the 72% dark and it was pure bliss. What is life without dark chocolate, I ask?! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
After my chocolate eating, I did pause for a quick lunch:
A cup of Pacific Brand tomato soup, leftover baked tofu and a huge juicy nectarine. Yum.
I’m in quite a rush right now because I have to be somewhere with my parents in 30 minutes and haven’t even showered yet (ew, I know). However, I do feel really compelled to share this verse with you from my quiet time last night:
“So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious…really serious. Get on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll ever get on your feet” James 4: 7-10

Thanks for sharing your verse today! Wow!! If I could do that everyday, do you know how much more productive and balanced I would be! Glad you got in a great yoga practice:)

Love the verse, Jenna! What version Bible do you have? I like your interpretation better than my current Bible.
jennaAugust 31, 2009 at 1:30 pm

Megan (The Runner's Kitchen)August 31, 2009 at 1:54 pm
Your waffle sandwiches always look SO good! And I am going to make that baked tofu ASAP. I think I’m going to try and go vegetarian for awhile and I need some meal inspiration 🙂

I should have added an egg to my waffle this morning – I was hungry all morning!
BreaAugust 31, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Thanks again for the Bible verse. This is the second time today that I’ve read this verse or rather a similar verse. God speaks to us in so many different ways and today I feel he is speaking to me through you and another of my friends!
Drooling over your chocolate 🙂
LizzieAugust 31, 2009 at 2:15 pm
I can’t eat milk chocolate anymore – the dark is just so good. Highly recommend Taza brand. I love Pacific soups too – they’re easy to transport and heat up – though your soup looked a little lonely . . maybe it would enjoy some grated cheddar cheese to accompany it? 🙂
JennaAugust 31, 2009 at 2:17 pm
Fabulous morning post Jenna. That really touched home in my books. I have a very similar story to yours in recently finding my happy medium. I think a lot of it has to do with the things we go through in life, which make us much wiser, and less worried about the silly things in life. It is much more important to have a STRONG body, level mind and live your life to the fullest (which includes indulging in your favorite foods, in a healthy way).
The post lifted my spirts today, so thank you for that! Have a great day Jenna.
JennaAugust 31, 2009 at 2:21 pm
yummy package 🙂
LeiannaAugust 31, 2009 at 2:31 pm

RebeccaAugust 31, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Oh chocolate! Yum! Your last post was amazing! I’m a little behind on google reader and just got around to reading it! Your story is so motivating!

chandraAugust 31, 2009 at 3:07 pm
Soooo jealous of the chocolate!! Yum.
And you made me crave waffles & tomato soup. Not together though, that would be kind of gross.. lol
MandaAugust 31, 2009 at 3:13 pm
Hey Jenna- Thank you so much for both posts today. They have really helped. My car got towed from my apartment last week and I had to pay $200 in cash to get it back. I tried to file a complaint today, and now, I can’t help crying. I have no appetite and really don’t want to go to class, but after reading your words, I feel a little better. Thanks for everything. I look forward to your next adventures.
SaraAugust 31, 2009 at 3:19 pm
Great meals and great care package 🙂 Glad the blog crisis was quickly resolved. Looks like your Monday is going as well as can be.
Pam (Highway to Health)August 31, 2009 at 3:29 pm

did you ever get the package i sent you ?
VanessaAugust 31, 2009 at 3:33 pm
I just wanted to compliment you on the most delicious breakfasts that you make. You’re the one that made me tweak the idea of putting peanut butter in my oatmeal, and it’s so yummy. I’m addicted! The Kashi waffle sandwich sounds like a fine idea too.
Thanks for sharing that verse.
kay (eating machine)August 31, 2009 at 3:35 pm
that’s one chocolate-y package! lucky you!
Heather @ Health, Happiness, and HopeAugust 31, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Sounds like a crazy morning, but glad you got everything worked out. I haven’t done one of those Dave Farmar podcasts in a while, so thanks for reminding me! I’ll have to do one soon!
chipped nails and allAugust 31, 2009 at 3:50 pm
mmmm…that waffle sandwich looks deeeeeeelicious! And I need to put some time in my schedule to do some yoga with Dave Farmar…although I can’t find a good place to do yoga in my house. Any suggestions? I’m thinking I’ll try outside soon 🙂
ps: I enjoyed your post this morning.
LaurenAugust 31, 2009 at 4:00 pm
The tofu looks awesome, can you maybe post the recipe? 🙂
Congrats on the Propel gig!
jennaAugust 31, 2009 at 4:03 pm
There’s no real recipe! I included in that post my instructions of what exactly I did though!
Holly (The Healthy Everythingtarian)August 31, 2009 at 4:07 pm
loved your morning post and woowoo on the propel gig!
LizzyAugust 31, 2009 at 4:24 pm
awww i love care packages! always something fun to look forward to dig into! 🙂
SarahAugust 31, 2009 at 4:31 pm
Jenna, I looooove the verse. Thank you!
Cynthia (It All Changes)August 31, 2009 at 4:39 pm
I love the way The Message just makes things so clear some days. No pussyfooting around…just do it right.
BTW I love care packages and swiss chocolate. I think I bought an entire suitcase full when I went to Biel and Neuchatel on vaction while studying in spain. European chocolate is so much better 🙂 That reminds me I have a 90% dark bar in my desk.
LainieAugust 31, 2009 at 4:58 pm
All of that chocolate sounds amazing! I mean, any chocolate is amazing…but genuine swiss choclate?! Yes please!!!
KAugust 31, 2009 at 5:41 pm
Waffle sandwiches!! Those are such a time saver when I have to leave quickly in the morning – thanks for the reminder 🙂
MMillerAugust 31, 2009 at 6:04 pm
I love Kashi waffles! My favorite is the strawberry flax! I tried the blueberry with PB and wasn’t thrilled with it! You are so inspirational! Loved your quote!
SuzanneAugust 31, 2009 at 6:27 pm
I think it’s sad that your version of the Bible leaves God’s name out. Using Jehovah’s name makes him even more real and makes it easier to talk to him in prayer.
Thanks for the idea of the waffle sandwich. I’ve done that a few times now and I love it! I think AB is so great and much better than PB on some things. And I’m jealous, I wish someone would send me a care package of dark chocolate – love the stuff! 🙂
CourtneyAugust 31, 2009 at 7:13 pm
Mmmm…that waffle sandwich looks delish and I just might have to whip one up for myself soon!
Thanks for that verse, it really resonated with me.

Care packages are really the best, and having one filled with chocolate really makes it amazing. I’m so envious of your haul!

Those waffles look sooo good! Chocolate-mania, lucky you!
NiccisNiftyEatsAugust 31, 2009 at 10:18 pm
Dark chocolate is my favorite! great looking care package too.

Mmm it’s been far too long since my last wafflewich…
Love those Pacific soups!
