Hi guys!
Gah! Sorry for the late lunch post but today has been crazy! You know those days when you just feel like you go-go-go all day long when you don’t even MEAN to?! That was today.
Lunch was AWESOME though with two very lovely ladies! Caitlin saved my life actually because (GASP!) I forgot my camera! Can you believe it? I was in such a rush because yoga let out late so I had to race home, take a shower, blow my hair dry and jump back in the car to head out to the mall and while at home, I couldn’t find my camera anywhere! So, I raced to Ryan’s house thinking it might be there somewhere and I couldn’t find it there anywhere either! It was only while I was on my way to the restaurant that I remembered I had stuck it in my laptop case at home. Grrrrrrrrr!!! I felt like a failing food blogger! Caitlin saved the day though for sure! =)
We had SO much to talk about at lunch, of course! Lindsay is an AMAZINGΒ (and gorgeous!) Christian girl and I am so sad she lives at the opposite end of the country! We had so much in common and actually are reading the same book right now! How random is that?! I’ve prayed and prayed for Christian girlfriends and God has totally been faithful but now I’m like “why God do they all live so far away??!!”
Us three had a blast talking about Caitlin’s honeymoon, FOOD (duh!) and how to plan more blogger meet-ups! They are so much fun!
For my lunch, I ordered the cilantro shrimp salad. It was aaaaaawesome! A big bed of greens with roasted corn, tomatoes, monterey jack cheese, plump marinated and grilled shrimp and topped with tiny tortilla strips! I got the dressing on the side but it was amazing as well—thick zesty cilantro dressing. Major yum! I devoured it =)
(I am SO frustrated right now!!! this should be where my delicious looking picture would go, but since it wasn’t my camera, I cannot for the life of me get the picture to scale down to a small enough size to insert! I’ve been trying now for 30 minutes so before I totally flip out and toss the laptop on the floor, I will just quit while I’m ahead and yall will have to use your imagination! Sorry!!!!!)
After lunch I took the girls to Greenwise to show them my place of work! They LOVED the bakery and all the delicious samples! Caitlin even bought some of my 9 grain pizza dough!
My friends then left me so to console myself, I got a pedicure π
(cute shoes from my favorite boutique—TARGET!)
And I got some new kicks! I wanted some sneakers to wear with jeans that weren’t bulky or anything and I think I found the perfect pair…..
What do you think? I really like them and don’t have ANYTHING like them. I’ve never been a sneaker-with-jeans girl but some situations really call for them like tomorrow when the pirates massively invade my city aka GASPARILLA! I will be walking around in crowds of 3,000 people all day tomorrow so I’ll really need some sort of comfy yet classy shoe to wear.
When I got home from everything I broke out the new granola I bought today at Greenwise that I couldn’t WAIT to try:
I had a half cup’s worth with reduced fat milk for a snackie:
Mmmmmmm I LOVED this stuff! I can already tell this box will be dangerous for snacking! The clusters are so thick and delicious but yet light and aren’t hard enough to hurt your mouth when you chomp down (which is why I don’t like grape nuts). I will definitely be buying this again and eating more in the days to come!
We were going to make pizza tonight but instead Ryan and I are meeting his cousin and his cousin’s wife at Bonefish for dinner at 8:30. They live in Atlanta and are here for Gasparilla! No complaints here—Bonefish is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants!
And finally—-LOOK at what Polly sent me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(can you tell I’m excited?)
The book AND the dvd! I never knew such a thing existed as Christian yoga and cannot wait to read more about it. Yay!! Love you, Polly!! =)

February 6, 2009 at 5:18 pmI have those exact same shoes in white and silver, and I love them! They’re so comfy, and great for walking around in. I wouldn’t recommend you try running in them, though – I did once when I forgot my running shoes and thought my shins were going to DIE. π Hope you and your feet enjoy them!

February 6, 2009 at 6:36 pmCute shoes. Sneakers and jeans are a really tricky combo, and those look like they could pull it off.
I’ve been reading your blog for a while and I just wanted to tell you that I really look forward to hearing about your day. You’ve also really inspired me with your yoga practice – I now do it for way more than the physical benefits!

February 6, 2009 at 8:34 pmGotta agree with “me want cookies” There was a little too much “christian talk”
Im christian as well and i don’t mean to judge you, but personally i want friends who are just good people with sound morals. their religion is irrelevant.
JUST SAYIN’
Jen

February 6, 2009 at 8:57 pmHey Jenna ~ Love your blog! What kind of Pumas are those?
Sarah
February 6, 2009 at 9:08 pmYou never used to mention your religion so much in your (food) blog… I am certainly not trying to be negative, but in the spirit of openness, I have to say it’s a little off-putting. Oh well.
Lisa
February 6, 2009 at 9:09 pmOMG! where did she find such a book like that?! That’s so awesome! I haven’t done a whole lot of yoga b/c I just don’t really get it but something like this seems like it’d have more “umph” to it! I’m going to google it and check it out! I’m glad you had a great night!

February 7, 2009 at 2:35 amthose new puma shoes are SO CUTE!!!!! i want them. π i also heart your target sandals!
Lauren
February 7, 2009 at 6:30 amI like the kicks! Puma makes great casual sneakers – I have a few pair myself. I’ve been meaning to try the “new recipe” Zoe’s granola… it used to be soft, but the recipe was adapted to make the clusters crunchy – yum!
