Books

every woman should read this book

You know those books that make you want to re-read them completely after flipping the last page? How to Love an American Man is one of those books. At first I was hesitant to read this, even though many of you (!) emailed me your recommendation for it. I think it was the title…I just wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I finally caved and read the entire thing is ONE sitting on my couch Sunday night.

Kristine writes straight from the heart and the story of her learning valuable life experience from her grandparents is one that moved me to tears many times while flipping the pages. The story was sweet and old fashioned, and I hated for it to end. I want to buy this book for my mom, my grandma and all my girlfriends. More than just learning “how to love an american man”, this book is about how to embrace your true femininity and love yourself from the inside out so that you can love another. Eeek! I just can’t say enough about it.

Go read! Go read!

I love your blog, such great recipes! I’m so glad you posted this book review–It’s been on my wish list for months now, but I have been on the fence about if it would really be something I’d enjoy or not. You’ve just convinced me to add it to my Nook books. It sounds like great reading material for my upcoming maternity leave!

I could do with reading this! (I’m Scottish and in a long-distance relationship with, you guessed it, an American man). Is it a step-by-step guide? πŸ˜›

So many books just slip through the cracks in my life though, since I’m a languages student and have tons of reading in French and Spanish to do – it’s neverending, and whenever I sit down and read in English I feel like I might as well be reading in French or whatever. Sigh… Maybe if I buy it it’ll force me to get my money’s worth and actually read it! πŸ˜›

Your book review was so lovely, to-the-point and definitely encouraging. Must read! Must read! Must read!
