Happy Labor Day!
I’m so tired!!! Didn’t fall asleep until 2 last night (this morning?!)….too much spinning in my mind. 🙁 However, I did make a hearty breakfast this morning to start my day off on the right foot!
Oooooh yeahhhhhh 🙂
I mixed cinnamon + a glob of canned butternut squash into my Kodiak mix this morning to make a jumbo fall-inspired pancake. Topped it with plain chobani, raw almond butter and maple blueberry drizzle. I am STUFFED!
Do any of y’all have interesting Labor Day plans? I’m about to take a long walk along the bay then work at the yoga studio for a bit before going to Bikram at noon. Nothing too crazy or exciting but I’m excited to sweat away some stress and tension.
Daily food blogging gives me the unique opportunity to look back and see exactly what I was doing a year ago. Do you guys ever do that? This year has just passed so quickly…it seems like just yesterday I was getting ready to move out of my apartment in Orlando, move into Christie’s house and start my externship! Geesh!

September 7, 2009 at 8:57 amHappy Labor Day, Jenna! Your breakfast this morning looked amazing! I’m eating a PB&J Larabar with my morning cup o’ coffee, then I’m headed outside for a run. Enjoy your walk and bikram!

September 7, 2009 at 9:04 amI don’t have incredibly *exciting* plans, but since it’s the last day before the school semester starts, I’m thinking to lay low and just enjoy the day. A run is definitely in my plans, as well as spending some time outdoors or visiting the grandparents before I head out. 😀
I love your breakfast combo, by the way…delish! 😀

September 7, 2009 at 9:07 amNo big plans for labor day, other than a walk and a little work. I love to go back in my journals and see what I was doing a year ago! I’m always surprised by how different things are!

September 7, 2009 at 9:12 amI hope you have a great Labour Day! That breakfast looks amazing!! I am going to the local university’s first football game of the season! My boyfriend just started going there again (for nursing) and we decided that we needed to see a football game!

September 7, 2009 at 9:29 amPlease be sure to give a full recap of your Bikram class. I’m trying to talk myself into the astronomical cost of $180 per month to do it — not sure if it’s worth it yet.

September 7, 2009 at 9:32 amMmmm canned squash! I need to find that in my grocery store, can think of a lot of things I could add it to.
Hope you have a restful day since you had a lack of sleep! Sounds like a sweaty yoga class might be just the ticket to quiet your mind.

September 7, 2009 at 9:40 amyeah! I’m so glad that you get to do yoga today! My yoga is canceled for today, but I got in a two hour class on Friday to make up for it! I got in a 10 miler and some studying today so far. Other than that, I have just been relaxing with my hubby (who has the day off!). I love these “lazy” days! Enjoy the rest of your day!!

September 7, 2009 at 9:47 amAre you looking ahead and wondering where you’ll be NEXT Labor Day? I know I can’t wait to see where my life takes me.
I’m planning on running 4 miles. My boyfriend and I were training for a 1/2 marathon and then he had HIS APPENDIX OUT! We’re trying to get him back into running so this will be a really easy 4.
Happy Labor Day!!!

September 7, 2009 at 11:06 amAlthough you didn’t have oatmeal this morning, I have been meaning to tell you that I started putting peanut butter (in addition to raw honey) in my oatbran/porridge and now I am addicted!! I had a big bowl this morning after my long run and it was SO good – thanks for the tip!
You seem to be doing a lot of thinking/mind spinning lately? Maybe you’re having a quarter-life crisis? This isn’t a bad thing by any means! Just kind of get what you’re going through – you’ll get it figured out! 🙂

September 7, 2009 at 11:09 amI like your labour day plans. Relaxing and fun!
Sorry about your lack of sleep and spinning thoughts. I hope you can relax a little today to get some rest you missed out on last night :0)

September 7, 2009 at 11:29 amHi Jenna,
Love the blog; I’m a new reader and blogger!
I’m curious how long you’ve been doing Bikram. I’m going for the second time this evening and would love to hear how you handled the heat the first few times! Last time I got a little dizzy for a bit; I’m hoping it doesn’t happen tonight!
Thanks,
Cara

September 7, 2009 at 11:50 amHmmmm … I do have interesting, but terrible labor day plans. I have to write the first 8-20 pages of my honours thesis … yikes! Doing homework is NOT a fun way to spend a holiday. But, I have no choice, I am running out of time! At least tonight I get to see friends and go to BBQ/ party for a bit!
Have a great day!

September 7, 2009 at 11:58 amI slept awfully too!! I was in that half awake half asleep state until 5:30am…:(

September 7, 2009 at 12:08 pmYes, as a girl that used to sleep really soundly, I am not enjoying these fitful, restless nights of sleep anymore! 🙁

September 7, 2009 at 12:50 pmThat breakfast looks absolutely perfect. Great Labor Day kickoff meal — love the ‘fall’ touch, too. Just recently bought some Bob’s Red Mill Organic High Fiber Pancake & Waffle Mix and you may just have inspired its use.

September 7, 2009 at 7:08 pmHey Jenna
Happy Labour Day! I hope you enjoyed your hot yoga, you must be super fit to get through it. My BF LOVES it, but I can’t take it. I spent half the day cleaning, and half the day at a picnic in the park, a very balanced day if I do say so myself.
