I know I’m a little late to the party, but happy new new years! I hope your twenty eleven is filled with joy, peace, really large trees and carolina barbecue.
We spent the holiday in Charleston, and I took Adam on a four hour walking tour of the entire city. Now we are “home” in Savannah, with feet so swollen that we can’t even walk. Mom is feeding us homemade pulled pork to recuperate. I am thankful.
If the rest of the year goes as well as the past twenty four hours, we’re golden.

Happy New Year! Glad your year has gotten off to a good start!
Happy 2011! I’m so jealous you were in Charleston. My hubby is from there and we haven’t been back in too long!
Is that the Angel Oak??
There is a giant banyon tree (reminiscent of that one) on Maui! Your picture reminded me of my vacation there in two weeks.
Happy 2011 Jenna! I look forward to another year of your hilarious posts.
Good thing pulled pork is a good muscle recovery supplement
Happy New Year Jenna!
Happy New Year Jenna! I’m jealous of your “home” in Savannah – my absolute favorite city in the world!
Happy New Year! Pulled pork is the best! I love it so much but I’m always too intimidated to make it!
Happy New Year to you too Jenna! All the best for 2011
Happy New Year Jenna! I am happy to hear that you had a fabulous time in Charleston. It really is a beautiful city.
Happy New Year! That barbecue sounds amazing!
Sounds beautiful.
I made a resolution this morning to A) stop feeling guilty for sleeping in, B) stop feeling guilty for waking up at 2 am and eating and eating more at the counter just because I can’t sleep, C) stop feeling guilty for one short daily walk.
I hope I can achieve a 1/4 of the peace that you seem to grow in your life.
I hope you can stop telling us everyday!
Wow, that is a stunning picture of the tree! Happy New Year
Jealous! I’m completely in love with Charleston and looking (ok, hoping) to move there after I graduate!

Pulled pork? I guess he fits right in then!
Happy New Years! Mmm, pulled pork sounds delicious!! One of my favorite meals
Happy New Year!!!
There is a very similar looking tree in Maui too, just wanted to say!
A four hour walking tour- a fabulous idea, best way to see a city for sure.
Is that some sweet tea is those cups? Jealous!
I just helped my mom get some pulled pork ready to cook away in the crock pot! I think it’s a perfect meal for a lazy Sunday, don’t you? Happy New Year Jenna!
happy new years, jenna! can’t wait to see what kind of shenanigans and goodies you get yourself into this coming year.
I would love a 4 hour walking tour! how fun! you have to have the right weather for it though; Charleston can be miserable in the cold wind
what walking shoes do you like to wear?
Hey jenna!!!

I’ve never had an american style barbecue. What we usually have in Mexico are “carne asada”, which is like a get together to eat grilled steaks, with salsa, guacamole and tons of tortillas! It’s very common, like a sunday tradition or something
Have a nice twenty eleven
xoxo

Great places to visit. When we lived in the USA we visited both those places one Christmas time having been to Disney. Happy New Year. Mine has started with another weight loss – so different from my old days before recovery where I would always gain about 10lbs over the holidays.

Happy New Year, Jenna!
happy new year!
my fiance’ and I are going to honeymoon in Charleston in May– do you have any recommendations for restaurants and things we should do? are there any farmer’s (or other outdoor) markets and museums that we could check out?
thanks!!!
Happy 2011!! May it be the PRIME (2011 is a prime number) year of your life!!
Happy New Year! I am looking forward to all your delicious recipes in 2011.
I think I recognize that tree! Is it in Hilton Head?! Happy New Year, hope it is fabulous!!
I used to live in Myrtle Beach and SC is beautiful this time of year usually. Cool, but the skies are blue and the air is crisp. But I love the weather in San Diego more so we are here now.
I love the pic of that first tree! And hopefully that pulled pork hits the spot….mom’s cooking always does
is that melvin’s?! yum!
Hahahaha – definitely a great way to start off the year, Jenna!
Happy 2011
happy new year!!
Oh, Angel Oak! I am in love with that tree, seriously. Most amazing site I’ve seen in a while. I’m local to the general area, and I heard a while ago there was talk about people buying the land it’s on or around it or what not. I hope not. It’s too wonderful to not be there for so many more years to come!
Happy 2011 to you!
Nothing like ringing in the new year in the South!
my fam and I were just in Charleston – stayed in Pawleys Island and drove home to Pennsylvania yesterday! I bet it was a beautiful day in Charleston yesterday – we sure enjoyed the beaches right before our long drive home
A very Happy New Year, Jenna!!
Ahh, love pulled pork! Did your mom make it in a crockpot?
The picture of that tree is something else, wow!
Happy New Year
Having just returned from Texas, and even though I’m a vegan, I can affirm that pulled pork is a fabulous way for most people to start the new year! I love your blog, and wish you much baking and eating in 2011!
