in the country

by jenna on December 28, 2011

I’m trying all sorts of fun new things!

Like…fishing in creek holes, driving a tractor around, wearing extra large camo jackets and shooting mistletoe out of oak trees. Oh yes I am. I’m also eating some of the most delicious gumbo, crawfish etouffee and shrimp casserole ever.

It’s great, but I’m seriously wondering why I insisted upon getting a manicure before coming here.

haha i bet it was ruined day 1! Are you back in the midwest or is this georgia?! Sounds like a relaxing time.

Pamela | Girl Gone West December 28, 2011 at 12:18 pm

Haha, I always seem to get manicures before I go on a rock climbing trip. No idea why I’m so bad at scheduling these things…

Lauren @ What Lauren Likes December 28, 2011 at 12:42 pm

Sounds fun!! Hmmm gumbo sounds so good right now 😀

Cait's Plate December 28, 2011 at 12:46 pm

Hahaha – sounds like so much fun! It’s hard to make camo look good, but you made OVERSIZED camo look good! You should get a medal 🙂 Have a great, great time!

Beyond jealous.

it sounds like a blast!!! i love the red boots btw.

Kristin December 28, 2011 at 1:16 pm

I love the photo and cute red boots! The country is so peaceful and serene … I just love it. The ‘slowness’ and quietness of life in the country just fills me up, and I’m a city girl, but swear I have country roots in me! 🙂

Is that camo real tree or mossy oak? LOL

Holli December 28, 2011 at 1:20 pm

I have those exact boots! I’ve been living in them!

Amy December 28, 2011 at 1:28 pm

Are those your new Frye boots? They are really cute!

J3nn December 28, 2011 at 1:46 pm

That’s awesome! I love trying new things, even if I’ll never do them again. It’s always nice to have the experience. 🙂

Sarah (I Dream of Beets) December 28, 2011 at 2:00 pm

I really like the colors in the photo. Also, I love the boots!

Hahah oh my gosh this totally reminds me of my one and only visit to Texas (near Waco).. have fun!

Andrea @ The Skinny Chronicles December 28, 2011 at 2:14 pm

Ha! I wonder that all the time. I will paint my nails are perfect and pretty and then go dig about in the flower garden, planting bulbs or some such nonsense. Why of why…

Your boots like pretty rockin’ there! Enjoy your fish hunting.

Charles December 28, 2011 at 2:35 pm

Cause the only thing better than fun new things, is looking good doing them.

Angela @ Happy Fit Mama December 28, 2011 at 4:13 pm

Frye boots and oversized camo? I see a major fall trend!

Luv What You Do December 28, 2011 at 4:19 pm

Sounds like an amazing time! Total sidenote -where are your boots from?! They are so perfect!

jenna December 28, 2011 at 7:57 pm

Thanks! They are Frye “Melissa” style and from Zappos. I love them!

Sree @ saagAHH December 28, 2011 at 7:36 pm

If you try a gel-polish manicure (the most famous name brand is “Shellac”), then it’ll last without chipping next time! (I work at a beauty mag as my day job, so we were all over this craze when it came out 🙂 ) P.S. It was great meeting you at the FoodBuzz festival. Love your blog.

Being away from life’s routine just refreshes mind, body and soul. Have fun and Happy New Year, sweetie 🙂

It looks like you’re having an awesome trip! I grew up in a small town, and this post makes me miss it, driving around in the country at night looking at the stars, having bonfires in the summer, sigh!

kristin December 29, 2011 at 7:21 pm

Cute picture! Love the boots
