Behind The Butter

in the country

I’m trying all sorts of fun new things!

Like…fishing in creek holes, driving a tractor around, wearing extra large camo jackets and shooting mistletoe out of oak trees. Oh yes I am. I’m also eating some of the most delicious gumbo, crawfish etouffee and shrimp casserole ever.

It’s great, but I’m seriously wondering why I insisted upon getting a manicure before coming here.

Haha, I always seem to get manicures before I go on a rock climbing trip. No idea why I’m so bad at scheduling these things…

Hahaha – sounds like so much fun! It’s hard to make camo look good, but you made OVERSIZED camo look good! You should get a medal 🙂 Have a great, great time!

I love the photo and cute red boots! The country is so peaceful and serene … I just love it. The ‘slowness’ and quietness of life in the country just fills me up, and I’m a city girl, but swear I have country roots in me! 🙂

Ha! I wonder that all the time. I will paint my nails are perfect and pretty and then go dig about in the flower garden, planting bulbs or some such nonsense. Why of why…

Your boots like pretty rockin’ there! Enjoy your fish hunting.

If you try a gel-polish manicure (the most famous name brand is “Shellac”), then it’ll last without chipping next time! (I work at a beauty mag as my day job, so we were all over this craze when it came out 🙂 ) P.S. It was great meeting you at the FoodBuzz festival. Love your blog.

It looks like you’re having an awesome trip! I grew up in a small town, and this post makes me miss it, driving around in the country at night looking at the stars, having bonfires in the summer, sigh!
