Breakfast/ Dessert/ Exercise/ Fitness/ Lunch

Last Week!

Good morning! My internet seems to be back up in certain spots of my apartment so I am able to get online (phew!), but it should be fixed for good this afternoon..hopefully!

Last night I was craving something sweet after dinner but was SO full from the black bean croquettes so I had a bowl of raspberries. They were two for $4 at Super Target yesterday!

This morning I woke up earlier than usual (probably because I went to bed at 10:00 last night) for my morning workout. I ate half of a tiny banana with what was left of my peanut butter….I’m putting off grocery shopping until Wednesday when I can go to the NEW whole foods and use my gift card! Yesterday at Target I only picked up some grapes and raspberries because I was out of fruit. Anyways, I did 25 minutes on the treadmill—warmed up for 5 minutes, ran for 15 minutes then walked on a steep incline (12.0) for 5 minutes.

I had the perfect summertime breakfast—-a nice, cool bowl of cereal. Cinnamon Harvest with raspberries and banana. It tasted so refreshing after my workout! I highly recommend this cereal. It always keeps me full until lunch.

Speaking of lunch! I get to have my leftover pizza! There are three small slices in here that I’ll heat up in the microwave at work. I also packed some berries for dessert and a peach and some walnuts for a snack later.

It’s my last week of school before summer break and I PROMISE to get a new picture of my chocolate cake that is on display at school tonight!!! I don’t have school on Friday and then next Wednesday Ryan and I are headed up to the mountains! =)

Hey Jenna- you said you warmed up for 5, ran for 15 and walked at an incline for 5. What speeds are these? I am trying to gauge what your 25 minute cardio workout looks like. Thanks!

When you only run for 15 minutes do you do your typical routine of 3 min running and 1 min walking or do you run for 15 minutes straight? So glad your internet’s “back”… phew! Who makes that cereal??

Haha sorry for the lack of clarity!

I do the galloway method (running for three, walking for one) when I am training for a race or when I run for a distance outside (3 miles or longer). When I’m on the treadmill I just run the entire time. Warm up usually is at 4.0, running at 6.0 and walking on incline at 4.0 with incline of 12.0.

    Katie,

kashi makes that cereal. Its wonderful!

Kashi Cinnamon Harvest is the BEST. It’s great crumbled over yogurt, too.

Jenna- I made your BBQ beans & kale and sweet ‘n’ sour cabbage last night! OMG, delicious 🙂

    Hi Jenna!
I just wanted to let you know that I started my own blog and that I added you to my blogroll. I hope that’s okay! I felt so bad the other day because someone who I had already added visited my blog and left me a comment asking me if they could add me…and I was wondering if I had broken some kind of blogging protocol by not asking! So this is why I am writing to you, to make sure it’s okay 🙂

Also I have a question for Jenna or anyone with cameras (sorry Jenna if this is kind of a sore subject because of your camera situation…which really sucks btw!): what kind of camera do you have? And if you have your camera cord, can you just plug it into any computer and upload your pictures? I have a Canon SD850 IS and I remember reading somewhere in the manual (of course I can’t find it now but hey) that I couldn’t connect my camera to a computer unless it had my camera software installed, or it would damage the camera. Does anyone know if this is true or what?! I am going to Panama for 3 weeks this summer and I want to be able to pull off my pictures while I am there…any advice would be appreciated!

Jenna, this is probably a random question but it came to mind!! When you go out for pizza do you go to places that have cheeseless pizzas on the menu or do you specifically ask for it?? I have a dairy allergy and just stay away from going out for pizza so it would be so great if I knew that I could just ask for them to leave the pizza off!! Thanks!!!

blueberrybabe, I used to eat those soy boy ravioli all the time and I love it. However, it has a consistency like tofu, not like cheese, and doesn’t taste at all cheesy. The pasta part of it is also rather dense in comparison to the amount of tofu filling. Anyway, I liked them, but if you’re looking for something that is a close imitation of cheese ravioli, you might not.

Jenna, just read over your weekend entries– I too have that yoga DVD and try to do it at least once every 1-2 weeks. Just out of curiosity, how does it compare to the classes you’ve taken?

    Ashley H,

I use 1/2 cup oats and 1 cup soymilk. I don’t measure my cereal out—I just fill the bowl usually, unless its Ezekiel cereal and for that I eat 3/4 c most times because I’ve found that’s the proportion that fills me up and doesn’t weigh me down.

    A.Cook,

How exciting! I will def. check your blog out!! As for my camera—I now have my mom’s and it is a Canon SD400 with 5.0 megapixels. I like so far…I feel like it even takes better food pics than my old one!

    blueberrybabe,

I have never heard of these! Interesting…I’ll look for them at Whole Foods and see what I think.

    Katie S,

You just ask for a cheeseless pizza. I felt weird at first but the pizza guy said that he gets that “all the time”. Its very easy for them to do and just tell them to load it with veggies instead. No need to miss out just because you don’t eat cheese!! 🙂

    tfh,

Well nothing in my mind compares to actual yoga classes at a traditional yoga studio, but this was a good workout at home when you dont have the chance to get there. The best one I’ve found actually!
