No Words

Guys, I don’t even know what to say right now.

If you have bought an e-cookbook lately you will see that with your help alone, I have beat my goal of $4,200 by almost $300…..and it just keeps going. I’m actually getting teary eyed just typing this because it means the absolute world to me!!!!!

When I was just driving home from the grocery store and checked my email on my blackberry I totally had a breakdown and just started to cry behind the wheel. I’m just so overwhelmed by all of your support and I feel like I’ve really gone through hell and back these past two months and have grown up so much. When I started this Team in Training adventure my brother was still alive and he was so proud of me (of course he would never have told me such a thing though!)…he even told his teachers at school what I was doing. Well, he never lived to see me succeed but I know he is smiling down from heaven right now. I feel like this fundraising has been such a journey….I’ve gone through tragedy, shin splints, $500 orthotics (that I’m still paying for. lol)….and I’m just so proud to run this October and have you all behind me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Please, I urge you, don’t stop buying e-cookbooks just because the goal has been met!! Think about how many lives are going be saved by this. Think about all the further research that they can do now that they could never before because they lacked the funds. Think about all those eight year old children going through chemotherapy in hospital beds that would just give anything to get outside and run.

Now, (sniff sniff) I shall pull myself together and tell you about my morning! Exercise consisted of an easy two mile run on the treadmill, which was great. My next run is going to be on Friday and I’m going to increase my mileage to 3 miles. Usually long runs will always be on Saturday, but this Saturday my parents are having the mother of all garage sales and I’ll be working my tail off all day long!!! :)

After my run I snacked on a piece of raw goat cheddar to refuel—

And then proceeded to send out masses and masses of e-cookbooks! Sorry the file is so large, yall…its so worth it though—I promise!!! :)
Lunch was a gourmet hot dog sandwich:

Plus decaf green tea

For the gourmet hot dog sandwich I used a jumbo soy dog and sandwiched it on Ezekiel bread with 1/4th avocado, organic honey mustard, ketchup, spinach and hot sauce. Quite messy but very, very yummy!!! I also had a super ripe mango on the side.
Aside from Team in Training I also received more absolutely fantastic news today. All I can say is that when we think we have nothing and don’t even know where to turn, God provides for us in just the nick of time.
So finally, I was able to do a pretty major grocery shop since we have been down to the bare bones over here and my grocery trips for the past couple weeks have been only to run in and grab almond milk, spinach and bananas.

IMG_1090.JPG
Obviously this is a mix of Ryan’s food and mine (ahem, pepperoni pizza?). The glory of my shop was that I was FINALLY able to find Sunshine Falaful burgers!!!!! There was only one box left and it was hidden deep inside the freezer. I literally had to thrust my entire arm back there to grab it. I can’t wait to try these!!
Other goodies included:
  • bananas
  • frozen blueberries for GM
  • frozen broccoli
  • Earth Balance buttery spread
  • Ryan’s reduced fat sour cream
  • cucumber
  • 2 gigantic grapefruits
  • 2 bags of organic spring salad mix
  • 4 kiwis
  • 2 garnet yams
  • 2 lemons
  • locally produced garlic hummus
  • onion
  • organic sugar snap peas
  • Shredded oats cereal
  • dark chocolate chips
  • toasted sesame oil
  • Amy’s mushroom and olive personal sized pizza
  • Ryan’s pepperoni pizza
  • Ryan’s organic chicken burrito
  • Ryan’s white flour tortillas
  • Ryan’s frozen grilled chicken breasts
  • two new teas: stash licorice spice and yogi tea green tea for athletes (new stuff, can’t wait to try it!)
  • Annie’s mac & cheese
  • celery
  • grapes

I also had to get Dexter new cat food because we bought him Iams “healthy choice” or something the other day from Publix and it made him SO SICK!!!!! He wouldn’t eat it and then when he finally did (poor thing was starving) he threw up like seven times. I don’t like it when my fur child doesn’t feel good so this proud mama stomped back to Publix and demanded a refund for the icky food. I then bought him his favorite Dr.Weil’s all natural stuff—he gets weight control food now ’cause he’s a wee bit chubby ;)

I’m off to send out like 500 e-cookbooks then prepare to interview someone AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Any guesses?? ;)

Megan,

Yep! I love that brand, it has pineapple, orange and mango in it :)

Congrats on the goal-exceeding!

Is that Nature’s Healthy Gourmet hummus? I know the Internets love Sabra Hummus, but I think NHG beats it by a mile! And gotta love that it’s locally produced (I’m in Jacksonville, but I consider FL to be “local”)

Iams tests on animals – my local pet store does not even carry their products. I stick with Science Diet or Inova for my three cats.

I love Yogi tea and have never seen the “for athletes” kind. I’ll be searching!
