  • What a special day! Grayson played hooky yesterday from school and enjoyed a day out in the city with my dad, who was visiting from South Carolina. They took the ferry in with Adam, walked to Adam’s office downtown, strolled around the ferry building then took Bart (our subway) home. I have a feeling Grayson will always remember this special day he spent with grandpa. We live thousands of miles away from any family, so these moments and experiences are all the more special to us! 💙
  • My forever valentine. 💘 @abeaugh, I love you so. Marrying you was simply the best decision I’ve ever made. Thank you for loving me well, especially during this chaotic season. You’re the best of the best. 🥰🥰
  • Well, a year ago today I gave Adam the surprise of his life for Valentine’s Day (scroll through to see last year’s Valentine’s Day and the video of me surprising Adam! 😂) and today that surprise is a joyful baby boy and so adored by all of us. I can’t imagine life without him! God is so good. Wow, what a year. 💘(also, we are in a stage of life where kids flat out refuse to smile for a photo. What is with that?!)
  • These little chocolate truffles are one of my favorite Valentines Day treats! Only three ingredients and gluten-free, sugar free and vegan but you’d never know it. My kids adore these! 🍫🍫

  • Last night I made @nomnompaleo’s macadamia nut roasted salmon (out of her recent book). It blew us away! I usually do the same ol’ thing with salmon and this was so, so good. Leftovers on a salad for lunch today with lots of avocado and blueberries! .

You’ve heard me go on and on about the great ButcherBox deal (today is the last day!!) where can get 2lbs of this awesome wild salmon - plus two filet mignons - for free in your first box. Such a good deal. ButcherBox is hands down the best money I spend on food for my family each month. Today is the last day for the special deal and you can grab that link in my profile! 🥳
  • We have really been utilizing our public library lately! I take Luke and Brooks every Thursday morning and while I always feel like I just grab books super fast off the shelf (while managing a sleeping baby and a wild toddler), it’s always fun to get a fresh stack. Here’s what we grabbed this morning! What are your current favorites for preschoolers these days? 🤓
  • This vanilla sheet cake with pink frosting might be my favorite Valentine’s Day baking project yet. 💕 No unnatural food colorings used in this one —- the secret ingredient is beets! You’d never ever know though, I promise. I recently saw beet powder at our natural grocery store, which would work great, too. Either way, it’s a fantastic and versatile cake with fluffy pink buttercream. 💖💖 .

Grab the recipe link over in my profile today! One week till Valentine’s Day!
  • I do not need a puppy. I have three babies. I do not need a puppy. I do not need a puppy. I do not need a puppy. I need a puppy. 😂😂😂
  • The 2pm hour has quickly become one of my favorite times of day...and I have to say, the four year age gap is DEFINITELY my favorite between kids!! Grayson is so sweet and attentive to Brooks. They sit and “play” together like this every day when Grayson gets home from preschool and it allows me a hot second to eat a snack, unpack lunchboxes and sit down. Versus Luke - who just shoves his snotty two year old face up into brooks every minute he’s around. 🤪 Right now, grayson is explaining lunar new year to brooks and sounding very grown up about it all. 😂
  • *tap tap is this thing on?* 🎤 I feel like I’ve been unusually quiet in this space for a while now and truth is - I think I may have gotten caught up in all the perfect pretty instagram pictures that circulate around and thought I don’t have anything worthy to share at the moment. 😏 But that’s just it - and what I know to be true - behind every “pretty perfect picture on Instagram” there’s just a normal person trying to seem like they have it all together online. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Anyway, here we are! It’s a messy, chaotic season, friends. My hands are literally filled with little boys from sunup to sundown and any free moment I have is spent doing laundry because, little boys. 🤪 I am going to do my best about sharing my real life stuff on here because isn’t that what makes this community so great in the first place? Here’s to not getting caught up in the super edited, perfect photos that fill up our feed by the minute and being thankful for what we have.
  • Three months old! And looking more and more like his brothers (Grayson, especially) every day. I can’t believe I finally have a kid who actually fits in a bumbo! 😂😂😂
  • Hippie bowls for dinner! 👯‍♀️ We’ve got spicy baked tofu, rice, sautéed garlicky greens, avocado, sprouts, caramelized sunflower seeds and about to drizzle this whole mess with tahini dressing. 👊🏻 Recipe idea from @sk_cookingclub a few weeks back. I know I’ve mentioned it here before, but I really have been loving this lately! (Also- signs of spring? It stayed light long enough for me to take this photo on my front porch!)
