Behind The Butter

this week

I’m really loving this totally random bouquet of flowers Adam brought me! He said he was driving over for lunch and “just got the urge to stop and buy me flowers”. Well then.

I also wanted to share my absolute favorite fragrance in the whole entire world. I got bath cubes for Christmas years ago in this fragrance, used them all up and then forgot all about it…until last week when I was in the city and smelled this at Sephora! Instantly, all the memories of that Christmas five years ago came rushing back (sort of like smelling a shampoo you used to use!) and I fell in love all over again.

I figure spending a good chunk of my days washing dishes merits me spending $5.99 on the most wonderful smelling dish soap around. Of course I refuse to buy “gourmet” canned soup that costs more than three dollars a can. Priorities, people.

This stuff is like duct tape for your face. Okay, maybe that was a hideous analogy but it can really cover and fix just about anything. It works wonders on dark circles and instantly brightens everything up makes you look like you got eight hours of sleep when really, you slept outside in a tent. Without a rain flap.

I don’t normally wear lipstick, but I love lip liner and gloss. This nude colored lip liner from Maybelline pairs so perfectly with another one of my favorite Sugar products—their nude tinted lip treatment. It’s my lipsmacker of choice, along with this. Who doesn’t love birthday cake lip gloss? Or birthday cake bubble bath, for that matter.

Very good of Adam randomly getting you flowers. I actually prefer them for no reason at all other than the urge to buy them than if it’s an actual holiday or occasion.

Ok I love every single thing in this post. I want that perfume now. And that lip gloss/liner combo…good tip. Love makeup finds and tips. Benefit products are usually always worth their weight$, too 🙂

Adam just earned brownie points, too. That’s so sweet of him to bring flowers!

Random flowers? I immediately have mad-respect for your husband! I’ve never heard of Erase Paste, but I like the sound of it! Actually, I kind of irrationally feel like I NEED all of these products now! 🙂

Gorgeous bouquet! Well done Adam. Well done!
Jenna, that Erase Paste may just be the thing I’ve been looking for. I have never used a concealer type product, but with the wee hours of sleep I’ve been getting, and the northern cold making my nose look more and more like Rudolphe’s…I think I may need to invest in this! LOL.

Ummm, I love Mrs. Meyers Clean Day products. Totally too expensive for cleaners, but soooo worth it. I buy the countertop spray too and looooove how my kitchen smells afterwards. I think I clean the counter tops like 4 times a day…..which basically means I run out of the stuff way too fast! I think I love the Basil scent the best!!

Love it when my hubby does something sweet – and random. Usually our acts of kindness consist of little notes left on the table if one of us leaves for work when we’re still sleeping. It always puts a smile on my face and his when we remember this simple act. It’s something my parents did (and still do) and hopefully we are encouraging our girls to pass this onto to their loved ones some day. Enjoy your beautiful flowers!

I LOVE Mrs. Meyers Basil scent! Fun fact – sister’s friend’s mom started Mrs. Meyers and Caldrea companies, which is partly why I started buying their products. Once I got a sample of a Rhubarb scent – It was the best thing ever but they never put it into production 🙁 Basil is my second favorite though, behind the sadly non-existent Rhubarb.

Isn’t Sephora just wonderful?! I live in Vermont and the closest one is in Mass, so I go a little crazy on sephora.com, or when I go home to Washington state for a family visit. I swear by anything made by Fresh. I have also found makeup removing wipes by Josie Maran that are all natural that are amazing!!! Also a small portion when you purchase them will go towards proctecting endangered species.

Jenna – If you love that Sugar Lemon perfume you will love J.R.Watkins Lemon Cream lotion. It tastes so good you want to eat it. Lemon Bars yum! Find it. Buy it. Apply it. and, try not to eat your own hands. It’s available online and I’ve seen it at Ulta Cosmetics.

Erase paste is the best thing to ever happen to my face. I have perpetual dark, puffy circles under my eyes (I blame a combo of sinus issues + lovely genetics), and get slightly ruddy spots around my noise and mouth – this has been perfect for covering up both. I second Jenna’s recommendation! 🙂
