Behind The Butter/ Dinner

TACOcoberfest Wine Country Style

Hi guys!

I’ve had quite the day. I felt like it was Christmas!

So, it was a huge victory for me to actually find my way, minus gps navigation, to Target and then….low and behold, Costco and Old Navy were right next door! It was meant to be. I was actually THIS CLOSE to buying a gps at Target but they didn’t have the clearance one that I wanted in stock so I went to Costco and they didn’t have it either so I figured it wasn’t meant to be. I shall forge my own path through Northern California, minus all advanced technology!

I am freezing my butt off up here so went on a little sweater spree at Old Navy….apparently bad weather is coming our way next week and since the heat doesn’t work up here (and I work outside a lot!) I need to be prepared. My thin Florida blood does not like the 40’s.

Had a nonfat pumpkin spice latte at Target and a Pure bar—

And then I walked over to Hardy’s house for TACOctoberfest this evening!

Awww Murphy Goode. How we love you. It’s still so crazy to me how all this came to be…and now five of us are living in California!

Tacos were AWESOME and Hardy did a stellar job! I filled my plate with a little bit of everything and then soon realized there was no way this was all going to roll up neatly into one burrito so I just devoured it with a fork and knife.

Jim (my boss!) and I were there to represent some Michel Schlumberger lovin’….love that Deux Terres Cab!

Around 9:00, naturally the bacon started up…..

And I wrote off the entire Syrah varietal (just kidding!)

……. I decided it was time to call it a night. I have to work tomorrow!

Sweet dreams!

I could live and die and Old Navy and never have a problem with it. It’s a sick obsession. But me, in all my thrifty glory, can find the most awesome amazing deals ever there!

So strange to see you in sleeves and a scarf! πŸ™‚ I’m used to strappy tops and dresses on your blog. It’s odd that California is comparatively “cold” to you. I’m a New Zealander and have always thought of California and sun as pretty much synonymous! I kind of (erroneously, apparently) assumed that it was at least mild all year round.

Completely random question: have you ever had brown hair, Jenna? I’m in the process of trying to find the right shade of dark brown to show my hairdresser at my next salon appointment, so I tend to eye up everyone’s hair at the moment, hee. And I was looking at the photo of you above with your nice dark eyebrows and thinking that you would actually make a really striking brunette. As well as a beautiful blonde, obvi! πŸ™‚

Looks like you had a fun night!! You seem to be really enjoying yourself out west, I’m very happy for you!
It’s a huge bummer that heat doesn’t work. You should get an electric blanket for your bed (wait, do they still make them?!), they are so comfy!!

Jenna—-did you miss the memo that it does get cold in NoCal? πŸ™‚ Two words: space heater. I live in Philly(where it gets REAL cold) and carry my lil space heater with me from room to room. I have heat, but i’m cheap, and space heaters are pretty affordable!

Jenna is from a place when it hits 70 we’re in jeans and sweatshirts, my northern family comes down and thinks we are nuts, very true that our blood thins out. Layers, lots of layers, and keep those cute jackets coming. That is so sweet that your Dad writes on your blog, must have totally made your day. I bet they’re looking forward to visiting you soon. πŸ™‚

Isn’t fun to buy sweaters? That’s why I love fall, it’s so nice to get all cozy and bundled up – either to lounge around at home or to go walking through the turning trees. My favorite time of year, by far!
