Lunch

Twinkle Toes

ahh, it felt so nice to get a pedicure. When I was in high school I worked at a sandal/pedicure shop on the beach and got free pedicures once a week. Talk about being spoiled. Now I’m lucky if I get one every 6 months. Oh, life in the real world.

I met Ryan for lunch today and we decided to get burritos, as to continue on with the Cinco de Mayo festivities. Ryan is proud to say he has had nothing but burritos to eat for the past 24 hours. I told you we liked Mexican food! I got a grilled vegetable burrito with no cheese. It was pretty good but loaded with yellow rice and not enough vegetables. Maybe they put more rice in it to make up for the lack of cheese?? I also had a couple of Ryan’s tortilla chips. I asked for NO chips because if they are on my plate I would eat every one of them. No self restraint. This morning I snacked on more blackberries and a bite of a SCM cookie before heading out to St.Pete to meet Ryan.

24 hours of burritos? Sign me up! They really are one of those rare great foods that work at ANY meal. Nice!

Just a forewarning, your yoga class might be cancelled. Biswanath β€œBisu” Ghosh, one of Bikram’s dearest friends, passed away during the weekend and he asked all studios to observe a day of mourning either yesterday or today.
On a brighter note, this blog is wonderful!

    Jenna,

I was just curious- since you are taking care of your little brother this week, are you cooking for him? How does that work- I assume he’s not vegan, right? Just wondering! Your toes look great!

    MLT,

Haha, no I am not cooking for my brother. I call him my little brother, but he’s 18 and is with his friends the majority of the time. He ate a tofurky dog the other night (I told him it was turkey) but that was the only meal he has been around for. He usually goes out with his friends after school. Tonight should be interesting because he wants to “have people over”……oh, 18 year old boys….it’ll be interesting

    G,

    I don’t! I’m sorry! I know it was Essie!

    Ashley H,

There was roasted squash, zucchini and eggplant maybe in this, along with yellow rice and salsa. You could choose either pulled pork, chicken, beef, shrimp, fish or roasted veggies for your burrito. Nice that they have the veggie option! I tried the fish once but it was SO fried and made my tummy hurt. Tasty though!

    raybelle,

I have not. Where is it?

    Allison,

It hurt…but really only for the first couple minutes and then you sort of zone out or get used to it or something. I went with my college roommate and she got 2 on her feet as well. Its a fun spot but very tender bc its right on the bone. I need to get it re-done because its fading a little bit!

Very nice pedicure! I’m badly in need of one but I’m embarassed to go because some of my toes are bruised from when I first started running! Yuck.

The burrito looks good, but definitely does need more veggies!

    hey jenna,

anna maria is near st. pete and sarasota. it’s an island off the gulf. anyway, my family has been going their since the 1930’s–i have so many wonderful memories there (my husband and i even honeymooned their last summer–so fun, just rode bikes around, kyaked every day etc..). they filmed the movie “on an island with you” there (a REALLY old movie!).

M.E. small world! are you from florida?

Thanks for your response to my Orlando/St. Pete Beach restaurant question.

I would love to eat at Victoria and Albert’s, but my husband is extremely picky, very meat and potatoes kind of guy, so I think the $$$ (and boy is it pricey!) would be wasted on him.

We rarely eat on the Disney property anymore, as we’ve discovered you get better food for the money off property, in my opinion. I am familiar with Sand Lake Road (tried dessert at the Melting Pot last year) have seen Seasons 52. Maybe we’ll give that a try this year.

And especially thanks for the St. Pete Beach recommendation, since I know zilch about the area. Ted Peters it is!

Thanks again for taking the time to answer!

    Kerry,

And, I work at Roy’s on Sandlake so come visit me! Or actually you can’t…since I don’t work at night, I just do admin crap during the day. But…still go to Roy’s! πŸ™‚

We’ll have to give Roy’s a try! I’m not sure if you’ll even be in Orlando at the time since it’ll be in September, but we’ll think of you!

Do you have any recommendations for St. Pete Beach, besides Ted Peters?
